At least you can buy this camera unlike the X100VI
I was actually positively surprised by the picture quality of this 35$ camera. :D
I was being a little harsh admittedly haha. The second you begin to crop in to those photos though...things quickly fall apart...
You can get better image quality from a used $35usd smartphone, and you can use free fully manual apps to control the phone camera for photo and video
Or used mirroless like Sony A3000 for 30€ with kitlens like I did. @@amermeleitor
That camera is 1000% real. Not fake!
This is better than I expected for the money though 😂
Is this where all the retired surveillance cameras ended up?
Old webcam and security camera sensors indeed. Upcycled ewaste I guess? Although it's still ewaste 😅
You forgot to mention anything about flaring, chromatic aberration, focus breathing and contrast on close-up objects. How do you expect me to spend all of $35.00 without a detailed review ? LOL Actually, I was impressed that it was good as it was. Thank you, these reviews are always fun to watch.
close up would probably be surprisingly "good". Ye olde point and shoots with their 1/3 inch sensors used to easily fill the sensor on a couple of centimeters distance. The sensor being something lik 3.5x5mm...
I'd seriously like to see how some of the most popular/best phone cameras are doing on your chart test. S24 Ultra, Google Pixel, iPhone 14(15?) Pro Max etc.
Yes! This would be interesting!
these cheapo knockoffs do appear to be getting *slightly* better tho
It's just newer batches of rejected CCTV style sensors being recycled 😂
I have never laughed harder at a review (note: did not say camera review) before! Thanks for brightening up the day! I feel these types of devices are what grandparents would buy in trying to meet the need of a grandchild that is interested in photography. Or something that trended on TikTok! Thanks for sharing!
Stacking debuffs 😂 I'm sorry you had to suffer for this. This is one of my favorite reviews.
Seen it on AliExpress and wondered how it would be; thanks for clearing that up :-)
On the other hand: for the money, it isn't totally aweful.
Hello Christopher, I watched your videos for more than a year now and was amazed by your straight forward and calculated approach, thank you so much for all the great content❤, I wish you will review L-mount lenses too in the future; with your great reviews they shall be the best L-mount reviews ever
I laughed continuously throughout this review. Excellent analogies and zingers throughout! Thanks for the entertainment!
That was sooooo fun! Thanks for the light moment!
Chris, Thanks for a great chuckle. Maybe a good buy for our 6 hear old nephew. 😉
Thanks for bringing back memories of my trip to Sevilla and Ronda. I hope you had another camera with you to capture those beautiful locations :)
This review actually made me laugh out loud a few times, thanks for the humor.
Well, it appears to have a hot shoe (and a viewfinder of some sort), unlike the $1500 Lumix S9.
The fact that it takes pictures, has a display with good resolution, and even has a proximity sensor is incredible for $35.
This might be the perfect camera for liminal spaces. It's exactly the kind of old 2000's digital hand-cam sort of look that you often want in those kinds of photos.
An interesting camera choice for a trip to Seville :) Thanks for the review.
Nice review Chris! I ended up giving mine to my son after I'd finished my review video on it and he loves it 😂
I've just had a look at your review! It's fun to check out something so bad once in a while. I'll probably pass this thing on to my daughter :-)
Well Chris, you took one for the team again 😂. You have a very robust constitution. Excellent one liners coming thick and fast were just what I needed to set me up for the weekend. Now get those jpegs into light room 😂
I enjoyed this review😃
Like a lot of other, I was surprised. Watching on a 13" Mac Book Air, the images looked ok. I have a 9 year old grandson who is more than a little geeky, nerdy, (tried to explain black holes to me the other day)and I thought, this could be perfect for him to take with him when he goes to summer camp, he'd love it.
Even with this crapy camera your shoots looks awesome 👌🏻👌🏻
It's right within my budget! I gonna get one and live my dream of becoming a famous photographer!
Would make a okay camera to give to your todler
I quite liked those pictures. It reminds me old postcards or pictures from old travel guide book :)
That was fun, thank you! If it’s too good to be true it is…
Micro 4/3 sensor? They mark on the front f=3.37 mm. The focal length is roughly same as the sensor size (either height or width depending on whether it is 24 mm or 35 m equivalent). More like Micro 1/3.
It's incredible that it has and eye proximity sensor. I think you should do rather a test on a cheapo second hand camera. For example max. 100$
Hi Chris. Perhaps as a suggestion, you can try to get a cheap used camera and lens combination with a specific budget to see how the image quality performs compared to the equivalent new version
Looks good for daylight shots. I can see my self buying some to convert to full spectrum and attach a 720nm filter for those that wanna try infrared and are on a budget
The best camera is the one you have with you. Still waiting for my X100VI !!
this is perhaps your best review ever hahahaha!!!! :D
Hey, wait a minute! Thats Plaza España, the other one is Torre del Oro! You are in Sevilla aren't you!? Will you come and visit Málaga? It's so exciting to see one of my long time followed UA-camr actually comes to the city I'm living in 🎉
This is 100% just an old smartphone camera sensor without all the crazy settings and post processing that modern smartphones do.
Probably not too bad for 6x4 snaps, as mentioned. If it was marketed as a kids camera I think that would be greeted with general acceptance.
I prefer it to the Fuji version
I liked the colors! although sure I know I would cry if I would watch them in full screen, but so far looks a bit better than the photos from my unused Sony WX80, with a Carl Zeiss branded zoom.
Best review ever 😅😅😅
I can foresee all manner of artistic video projects, where the 15fps would be a real winner, though 10fps would have been better for some of my productions. For £25, I believe this should come ‘highly recommended’.
What lens did you use with the Z7 its was brilliant.
So you missed April fools day this year and trying to make up i suppose . Love your reviews !
This video was hilarious 😂
This is the camera you give as a stocking stuffer to 5 year olds who want to go on a little photo safari with dad! ;)
I thought this was a belated April fools joke!
You're reviewing it as a camera (as it was advertised to be one) but it's obvious that it's a children's toy, and a good one at that for the price
Actually, I am quite surprised with the IQ 😁 those look much better than the toy camera I got for the kids. Dynamic range seems decent, and even colors look fine. I think it's a win for the price 😜
Did not know Christopher was somewhat of a gamer. 😂
Still better than new Panasonic 26mm f/8 for 200$.
Enjoy Sevilla ❤
Can you test smartphone cameras with 1" sensors? I wonder how something like a Xiaomi 14 Ultra would perform with your charts.
You confused me with that final music. Taken from a 3M background machine video, right? It's my ringtone - and I thought it would be unique.
is this camera any better than midrange smartphone cameras?
It's physically how little they added to what sensor. Like, "usb 2.0, let me check your credit score...hmm manager says you can have an rca bullet plug back up imx585". The amount of know how to desolder what they did is liken to sleeping with your parents.
Me gustaría que realizarás test de cámaras Canon powershot con súper zoom.
Oh no. Did you try to upgrade the firmware?
Love the Homeric series of metaphors and similes. And how often does one encounter the word "degeneracy" in a camera review (8:35)? Given a few other recent releases, all greatly more expensive, perhaps it should be used more often, along with "decadent".
So the challenge now is what used camera can you get for $35 that will absolutely beat this...thing
The photos look kinda good tho
"But aside from all that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?"
I have given you a like for your patience alone, I have a feeling I would’ve thrown it against the nearest wall within 10 seconds!
I can't believe you took 500-600 shots to test battery
Could be handy for street photography. If you get mugged or attacked and camera smashed, its not the end of the world at £25. Dont fancy loosing my ZV1 though.
At least it has a single pin hotshoe. Even the Panasonic s9 doesn’t have a hotshoe
Would have been a 'good' digicam if it were 1996 again. You can argue the marketing of the camera being atrocious, but for $35 you do get a device that can at least capture a somewhat usable photo, with a screen, and battery at least.
You fairly let yourself go with this sardonic script - very entertaining🤣
In fairness the Z7 with lens is about 1200x more expensive- was it 1200x the image quality?
I see some of these on Facebook for £100! Crazy
Maybe next: try some old digicams
It has a contact on the hot shoe, which is more than the Panasonic S9 😂
It is weather sealed?
The Fluji X100Nope.
This is awesome! 😂🤌
Heyyy not bad
But does it suffer from diffraction
I mean I'd like to get my nieces and nephews cameras when they are 4-6 years old.... I was using film trying to get action shots when I was young. Get them away from a cell phone or iPad.. . I'll probably buy a few of these .. And a bike and a ramp..
These aren't terrible photos, but it's pretty funny that even ones from a ten-year-old smartphone could likely look better
The debuffs are real
better than disposable cameras
Funnily enough, I've been tasked to see what 'childrens' cameras' are suitable for my niece's 3rd birthday. 15+ years of photography experience and... I'm going to have to do some research?!
This shows that showing pictures on youtube without zooming in and pixelpeeping does not say anything about the picture quality
It does take acceptable pictures though. I could see giving this at an office xmas party, or to a child.
lol - stacking de-buffs!
I bet they just an rehoused and reprogrammed dash cam sensor/module.
Nothing that a firmware update can't fix 😂
Lovely FOKEH - Out Of Focus Foregrounds.
Flares?
Is this better than the Panasonic S9? (no
"Stacking debuffs" xD
If only megapixels was a standard measurement of discrete light sensitive elements on a sensor instead of a relative measure of the file it spits out.
Oh wait… it is.
There was a plastic protector on the lens? Half of people will not get that it has to be taken off.
Looks better than my Sony screen 😅
I think they missed a decimal, .48MP!!
4K 15p? They should've advertised it as a Fuji X-A5 instead!
I hope it wasn't the only camera you took to Spain 😂
I wonder which camera offers the most value for the money. This one for $25 or the Fuji X100VI for $1,600. Hmmm.
Sounds like the Lumix s9 with no mechanical shutter.
haha, lovely!
the camera that predates Nicéphore Niépce's invention.
