This hardly seems to be "The Sad Strange Story." She had success as both an actor and singer, made $5 million, and now lives a private life. I'd bet she's pretty happy.
I love that Crystal lives a private life, which probably keeps her so grounded. She is talented and skilled enough to be intimidating, and nice enough to be the perfect best friend! I have always enjoyed her contributions to entertainment. Wherever she is, and whatever she is doing these days, I hope she is living her best life and really enjoying herself. Crystal is a creative force and we are blessed she shared this with the world.
She always seemed like the girl next door. Lowell was my favorite character. I used to fly a lot to Nantucket Island when I flew for Business Express Airlines. Some of the long shots of passengers getting on and off some of the airplanes were of me when I flew the Shorts 360 and Saab 340 there.
I watched Crystal on TV every time I possibly could ... I fell in love with her at first sight, not to mention heard her sing on TV as well and appreciated her voice and ability to express feelings thru music. But when she REALLY won my heart completely was when I heard her little 'chipmunk' laughter on Wings one episode ... every time I heard her laugh, I swear my heart about flew out of my chest and I smiled bigger than I've ever smiled before. Her laughter is the most infectious sound to me and I truly thank the Lord above for giving her that gift and blessing that angel with her sharing it with us here on earth. I LOVE hearing her laugh and it's one sound that truly fills 'my' heart with happiness and sunshine. 💜💗💜 Thank you Crystal from my heart to yours!!
She is one of the very few Singers that I ever heard cover a Song by Hank Williams, Junior. Bocephus's 1972 Classic "Eleven Roses" and Miss Crystal absolutely crushed it!🤔😉🎤🌹🎼🎸🎻💃📺B.W.
I've always enjoyed listening to Crystal and Peter sing their hit duet song. Gonna take forever tonight. She looks very stunning wearing that long white evening gown. Hoping she'll have a great Christmas.
Thank you for doing this. I admire her a lot & loved her on It's a Living. I also enjoyed her on Happy Days & Wings as well. I am glad she is at peace in her life because she seems like a nice person.
She certainly is a cutie pie. And I love the fact that she was raised as a Christian. She's had a great career that's far, I pray the Lord continues to bless her. And she remembers to discernment of the Holy Spirit
She brought pure unadulterated joy to me every time I watched Wings. I loved her persona which was so natural in the series. I wish I caught all the other shows she was in, in which I never knew about. Miss her big time!
In the 70s I was playing bass with Bobbie Gentry in Las Vegas. Crystal and her sister Robyn were dancers in the show. I recall that she was a very kind young lady, and very professional at a young age.
My favorite show w/her was Wings. Helen Chappel. She took crap off of nobody. Mom & I watched it quite often. I also saw "Welcome to Paradise", where she played a preacher who was forced out of her job at a large church & moved w/her son to a small town. Very uplifting story. It's been quite some time since I've seen it. It also has Brian Dennehy, who is no longer w/us. Connie Ray, who was in "My Fellow Americans" w/Jack Lemmon & James Garner. She was the one who kicked them out of their car. Very talented actress. It sounds like she's doing quite well.
Joe's girlfriend says something offensive. Helen: "You pig!" Joe's girlfriend: How DARE you! " Helen: "Like that's the first time you heard that today!" Dunno why that scene is always popping up in my head lol

I live in Texas, and Crystal’s daddy did a revival at our Church when I was a kid. I don’t remember if the family was with him, though. He was very entertaining, but he was a very, very good preacher. ♥️🙏🏻
Crystal Bernard was also in the sequel to Slumber Party Massacre II. that came out in 1987. This must have been during the syndication run of It's A Living. Right before Wings started. Slumber Party Massacre II. was not the best. I felt that it was watered down compared to the original film. Crystal played the younger sister in the sequel where the killer returns to kill off everyone.
My favorite characters on the show were the dimwitted airplane mechanic Lowell the sometimes sleaze ball but likable character Roy Biggins and Antonio the cab driver
Yes I love her! It seemed like she was on everything for a while. She's so fun! Wings and Happy Days were rad - great nostalgia. I loved her on It's a Living
Wings was an excellent little show, that was overshadowed in the NBC Must-See TV lineup by Seinfeld, Friends and Frasier. And Ms Bernard, herself, played second-fiddle (2nd-cello?) to tha actors (Daly/Webber) who played the brothers as well as playing straight woman to the outrageous supporting characters of Roy/Faith/Lowell. YET, she was the glue that held the show together, and, besides being a cutie, Crystal displayed a wonderful sense of comic timing. I was surprsied that after Wings ended, she was not given a show of her own, but I suspect it had a lot to do her own life choices. Thanks for the update, though. It's nice to remember her.
@@jamieoiler5690 Saying Wings was "awful" is a non-starter. It's perfectly fine with me if you didn't like it, but I did. 1:18 Happy Days was set in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, not Chicago. While they may be close (Only a 90 minute drive down the lakeshore), they have and had VERY different vibes.
I remember when the Slumber Party Massacre 2 and 3 combo DVD came out, the person who wrote the booklet inside the box said that Crystal Bernard was not happy about being contacted to talk about the movie lol
I remember speculating on comic-book movies back in the 80s, and thinking Crystal Bernard would've been great as Rogue in an X-Men movie. I also said Patrick Stewart would make a great Professor X, and that, at least, did end up happening. My ultimate comic-book movie casting dream, though... I LOVED that show Wings. Such a great cast, excellent writing and just fun to watch. My favorite episodes are the two-part episode where the ex wife comes back. Crystal stole the show on those episodes. I miss that show and I’m glad I can watch reruns.

Saw her with Ric Flair in a Baltimore bar in 1988. I have no idea why they were there. I was working for a local band back then and they had a gig at a place called Max's on Broadway in the Fells Point section of the city. The band played their first set and just about the time they were getting ready for the second set, maybe 11:30ish, in walked the NWA's Four Horseman; Ric Flair Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson and I don't remember the fourth, maybe they weren't there. Anyway, accompanying them were a group of females including Crystal Bernard. She seemed to be with Ric and they went to a back corner away from the crowd. Stayed about an hour then got up and left as the band was finishing up the second set.
Yes! I have both her albums on CD. I also have the CD w/"I Wanna Take Forever Tonight" duet w/ Peter Cetera. You know what Peter Cetera's claim to fame is? He's the lead singer of Chicago. Great band
I believe Crystal is friends with the Howard brothers, Ron and Clint- speaking of Ron Howard, I would hedge a guess if there's ever a photo for Happy Days' 50th anniversary, Crystal would pose for a photograph in front of the original Cunningham house with Ron, Henry Winkler, Randy Roberts(Chuck Cunningham) and John Moran, standing in for his late sister, Erin!!!

So was Laverne and Shirley. It was a spin off from Happy Days. It does make sense, as they worked at a brewery.

One of my all time favorite shows. God, I wish it went on a lot longer. Never would have been enough, though. Lol.
