Hi Ian, just subbed. I have a traveller too which I recently inherited from my late father. Over winter I have stripped and vanished the wood and almost finished repainting underneath which has turned out to be a very long slow job. Look forward to seeing how you get on with the gearbox. ATB 🍻👍
Hi.one thing you didn't do was mark the propshaft with a hack saw by the 4bolts You should have done this so you know we're to bolt it back so it's balanced in the same position. If I was you I would get a good second hand gearbox as the bits are very expensive. Good luck Kevin.
Hi Kevin Thanks for the note. I've had the propshaft off a couple times before so any marks are in place already. I'm looking at solutions currently. Potentially have something that's cheaper than even a used box!
Clutch was new when I did the engine, but it's getting replaced as one of the springs appears to have moved (so to prevent further problems down the line).
Yes ,the idle gear in the box, I have many years ago rebuild/restored a few moggys a traveler and a van , I was a body technician, welding ,spraying etc, I hope she get back on the road soon
Hi Nice videos keep them coming
Thanks! Will do!

That is a bit of a issue for the first job of the year. How old is the clutch. Might as well swap it out while you have the gearbox out

Sounds like the bearings in the gearbox Ian ????
The gears had lost a lot of teeth! I've got footage I need to pull together
Hello ,It sounds like the thrust bearing has gone ,
Get a new clutch kit ,that should fix it .
Nice car Ian
It's definitely the gearbox. It'll be getting a new clutch kit as a matter of course.
