I've seen the video with Gayle Bradley and the lock bar access was done on purpose. I also saw another review that mentioned that changing the scales to micarta makes the already light detent, lighter. So, any of the so-called downfalls were not done in error. But, all the mods people have done make the knife personal and to their liking. That's what makes this hobby so great!
A Dremel and 15 minutes will solve the lock bar access and some aftermarket scales from Sharp Dressed Knives solves the second issue of junk peel ply CF, this is very close to a perfect work/edc knife and I love mine!
Last thing I feel I should have to do on a $200 knife is perform Dremel surgery on it or be forced to order additional scales.. I wish I had more money than sense but I don't..
@@lancemiller4647 totally agree. I held off on doing it until my fingertip got sore from trying to wedge it in there to unlock the liner. For a lesser wua5knife it would have gone in my drawer and have been forgotten but it's such a great work knife that it was worth it to me. I've been accused of having more money than sense before but certainly not enough of either to be dangerous!!
Own it love it 🥰 mine went through the ken onion electric sharpener and than my KME sharpener probably the sharpest knife I have at the moment scary sharp. I have tiny Little girl hands so the lock bar doesn’t bother me.
Oh yeah, Love the Gayle Bradley 2. Dose it have too light of a detent I think I heard? It was &180 not that long ago. You would have to cut through the proud liners and the CF.
Hey thanks for the sub man. Yeah to each their own. I know a lot of people love Spyderco and a lot of people don't. Personally I love the thumb ramp and the opening hole. But again everybody likes something different. Thanks
Im my opinion, it does feel good in the hand, love the blade shape and it’s a work horse. But that limited access to the lock bar it’s annoying. Like Marcos said “having to modify a $200 knife is no bueno” he’s right. Yes you can put a Lynch clip, i left the original clip when i sent it your way. Yes it has the factory edge have not carried it much.
Very cool to know the details. Yeah I agree with you man. I wish it was a little bit better. It doesn't even have to be great just a little bit better. But that blade is ridiculously sharp from the factory. Thanks
I love my GB2. It's a work horse, but definitely not a fidget friendly knife. The lock bar access doesn't really bother me since I know it wasn't made for fidgeting. I can unlock it fine, but yeah, it would be better had they cut out a little access to the lock bar. I do have a dremel, so I could mod it, but it really doesn't bother me that much. I did put a set of linen micarta scales on it though.
Any wait to buy a GB2. Very soon…. The lockbar access is like that on purpose for those that don’t know. It’s so if your using it and the blade twists you can’t unlock it on accident.
So it's a safety feature I get it. That makes sense. It's a two hand closure at that point though. At least for me. It's a great knife though no doubt. Thanks
A lot of people are saying it was designed that way on purpose to make it more stout for work use and less likely to unlock. I don't usually have that problem though. Thanks for checking it out
Well put. For sure. That's what a lot of people don't get. They said they don't like the look of them but they're unique they're different and they're usable. Thanks
All I can say is I wish I had more money than sense but I don't.. So Sad, I so wanted to buy this knife.. Maybe they'll perform a recall and fix the issues., lol..

Understood. I'm sure it was designed that way for a purpose but it's just not easy to disengage. Thanks

Very good to know man. Excellent tips. It's definitely a knife worth owning. And with those tweaks it sounds even better. Thanks

First thing I did when I took mine out of the box was tear it down and add lock bar access. Other than a semi-weak detent it's a perfect user now
There you go. You got to do what you got to do. But I bet you love it now. Thank you
Opened mine up too. Love it now that I can easily get to the lock bar!
Love my Gayle Bradley.. great knife..
It is a great night for sure. A workhorse. Thanks
Own it love it 🥰 mine went through the ken onion electric sharpener and than my KME sharpener probably the sharpest knife I have at the moment scary sharp. I have tiny Little girl hands so the lock bar doesn’t bother me.
Boy it was already sharp on the factory edge. I can't imagine how great and sharp that is. Probably scary. Thanks
Definitely seems pretty awesome. Great review KC 👍
I really dig it. Thanks
Clean cuts wow
Really clean!!

Yeah I understood. I didn't think the detent was especially light no. It seemed okay to me. Thanks
Cheers 🍻 Jr Mz mi Compadre
I don't care for Spyderco much. Mostly the look of them but the cost is hard to justify. I liked the review and just subscribed.

And thanks so much for letting me check it out
The GB knives do have a really good feel! I do have one with aftermarket scales that I can never remember who from...lol!!! Thanks as always KC!!!
Lol. I can't ever remember stuff like that either. It's a great knife One that makes me want to carry it for work. Thanks

This knife was made to use, not play with.
Boom 💥 💥 💥 there it is, fatal flaw!!!

First couple of runs sure, but you'd think eventually they'd address these unanimous issues. Designed that way for ergos I guess.🤷♂️

@@KnivesFAST If you believe that I've got some ocean front property in Colorado I'd like to sell ya, cheap.. I'll even throw in a bridge.. lol..
Spiderco has been making cool knifes before knifes where cool.

Having to mod a 200 dollar 💵 knife 🔪 is no Bueno. Thanks for look KC
Yeah.... It's a big one for sure. Such a great knife otherwise man. I mean close to perfection with that one terrible issue. And thanks so much
Oh dang you French now KC 😆 🤣 😂 😹
Haha

Maybe they'll perform a recall and fix the issues., lol..
Yeah, understood. I believe It is what it is at this point. I don't think they'll be recalling them. It's just how it was designed. Thanks
Oh a fancy 🕷 huh
No you didn't say Holla, lol😅🤣😜🤪
Lol
