Thanks! It's just a piece I wrote for this demo. I usually start each demo with an original piece of music, composed just for the demo.. keeps me on my toes :)
It's incredible how those short songs you write for demo purposes are always so melodic and full of musical and guitarist-inspiring ideas! You really are a great player!!! Thanx!
It takes pedals great! Has tons of headroom, and you have the bright switch you can turn on and off to make it work with darker or brighter OD's/distortions/fuzzes. It was really designed with pedals in mind.
I'd actually say Pete Thorn has been making his name a big one with his amazing videos - not only an amazing player but an amazing reviewer / presenter. I only discovered him a few months looking into IRs and I am now mentioning him to every guitarist I meet! Pete Thorn is a LEGEND! 🙏
Frankly, that was an excellent video - hugely informative and still entertaining enough to hold my attention - largely down to the great playing and clarity of explanations from Mr. Thorn. Many thanks from Scotland!
The compression and liquid-like sustain of that lead tone... Lord. Simply jaw-dropping. Excellent demo, Pete. My fiancé even thinks the Corso sounds epic!
Guitar Nerd - one of the most musical guitar instrumental album out there. it has class, feel, melody, harmony, shredding and the whole package. The only downside is Pete is not releasing his second album :)
Hey Pete, kind of unrelated question if you have the time. What kind of wire / cable do you use to connect your amps with your cabs on the live room? Thank you! And btw, I just bought myself a Corso, what a lovely amp!
AdrianTracks Hi, it's good quality heavy gauge stuff, but nothing fancy. Not sure of the brand, the guy that wired my room to the live room just picked it out.
Seems like every time I see or hear something I really dig, then go to UA-cam for second and third opinions, there's good ol Mr Thorn demoing it!! This little monster is no exception... Awesome tone, awesomely demoed by an awesome player with an awesome ear for "true" guitar tone... AWESOME!! Thanks Pete, you got me sold on yet another fantastic product!
as stated in the vid- there's a variable power control that allows you to reduce the volume- to all the way off, if you like- and retain the exact same tones as when cranked! If you turn the power control to 0, and then feed the amp's line out into a recording interface/computer, you can record /jam silently, using headphones to monitor (the line out does not have speaker simulation, so you'll want to add that in your computer or using an external cab sim like the Two Notes CAB or Palmer PDI-09
Yes Ill echo those statements great informative insight to your studio and approach and smart work by Suhr and Kelly here to bring a great Idea to the table. Unbelievable tone from this Dynamo and no hum to boot. Pete thanks for doing these videos helps us mortals decide with no hesitation our next step in the tone path. Great to get to peek in and learn here. Bravo John Suhr for yet another bright idea and tapping Jim on the amp and Pete for the Demo. Well done...
Pete - you're so called "demos" have become an addiction. GAS will ruin me for sure, if I keep watching your "channel"! Only recently accquired the blue Bogner pedal! Besides - great amp and a great "demo" track! So much fun to watch. You really rock!
Pete, sorry for my bad english ... congratulations for the studio, and the refined technique ... Today I am your big fan! You're getting better, playing guitar, composing and edits the video ... The timbre of his instrument is really unique. It's great to hear you play, always!! Very good! Thank you.
I love small amp heads. It started with the THD UniValve, and now it's grown to a dozen or so. I have a home project studio, big amps are just not needed. This amp sounds great. It looks great too, something you want to put on display. I'm buying one pronto. Great review
Love the tones out of this amp and I know they stuck with a simplistic design (probably in order to not "mud" up the circuit), but I would love to see this thing with foot-switching capability. Being able to use this live would be a wonderful added dimension. Great idea with the headroom demonstration and the compressor. Very pro-oriented demos, Pete! Thanks!
Hey Pete, A 5 minute demo of the Corso with the Power Control at 0 running into Logic via the Line Out with an IR for your cab would be greatly appreciated!!
Hi Pete! I am a professional guitar from Montreal, I am constantly in tour with my duo lydia&sebastien,, I am looking the for the best option for direct recording, for hotel room and play live direct into the P.A.( and very light weight, Flight !!). I am thinking buying this amp with the Two Notes CAB or just using the Wall of Sound with the corso ( and my pedals) or maybe Kemper or Axe FX..... I am looking for a great american country, folk, blues sound!!! Chris Isaak style's... Thank for your advice! Love your Channel :)
It's a recording amp. In the studio you can do anything you want in post, in parallel into separate channels going into the desk, run a loop after the mic.... whatever. This is perfect for what it is.
That clean sound at the end, around 9:23, is just wonderful. Hopefully all the manufacturing delays have been ironed out. This might be the year this living room rockstar picks up a Corso.
Thanks again for this great demo Pete you have technique but also groove...whatever one can call it, which is not so common nowadays, ordered your cd, your playing is so inspiring, really curious to listen to it, cheers
I love this amp. Would love to see it come back with built in Suhr IR stuff...... it would still be very different than the PT15.. which is awesome, but a different beast still and different price point.
@@bradlivey7867 I suppose it is from your experience solely. IRs are industry standart already alongside with other recording methods, and if is done properly then nobody is able to hear the difference. But, to record properly, you need a proper reactive load, this is a weak point often, when inexpensive resistive load boxes are used, they ruin the tone, not IRs.
Pete that is an absolutely killer tone you're getting out of that little guy, though I suspect that you'd be able to do the same with just about any old thing!
Great demo of a very good sounding low wattage tube amp from Suhr! Big amp tones at low almost bedroom volumes! The $999 price is going to be a deal-braker for a lot of people that would love to own this amp unfortunately! Another example of a very high quality boutique amp that is just not affordable for the average everyday guitar player! Still a very solid amp for what it was designed for and Pete's excellent demo showcasing its capabilities!
The next version (if there will be one) of Corso should have an effectsloop, for post-gain effects like reverb, delay and chorus(debatable). Awesome tone Peter!
Thats a fantastic question. They seem to be marketing this thing as a really good line out amp, which means I am definitely very interested. If not, I would go for an ENGL ironball instead.
Pete. Great demonstration. I really like your playing. Would this give a guy enough oomph onstage in smaller clubs with cab mic'd? I'm seriously considering going back to a stereo rig with a Carr Sportsman on one side and the Corso into a 1x12 Avatar with a Tone Tubby. Thoughts?
Pete, you might have sold me on this one. Great! BTW, do you know if the Corso's load is a reactive load (volume all the way down)? It sounds good to my ears and full-tone frequency curve, so I'm guessing that it is reactive like the Suhr Reactive Load.
Hi Pete, very nice playing. What cab / speakers did you use? How would you compare this amp to the Vox Nighttrain, in case you tested that one before? I like your Whapedaltower next to the amp :-D.
Awesome demo Pete. What Power setting do you have to have to get that singing lead tone? My Suhr Corso doesn't come close to that. It's deafiningly loud at Power 2, Gain On, and Drive at 8. And still it's nowhere near that fluid tone. I'm using a Fender USA Deluxe Telecaster with gain button pressed in. Thanks
Pete, I'm doing more medium sized church stuff and I love that mid gain stuff with my tele. I'm wondering if this would be loud enough if I'm micing it and using some basic drive pedals. What do you think?
Sounds terrific as usual, Pete. Have you tried the Corso line out into the Torpedo C.A.B. or other irs? Interested to hear how the line out sounds compared to loading down the amp through the Two Notes Live etc.
Hi Pete, learning a lot from your video's and enjoy them! Bought a the same Clearsonic AP31 after seeing your studio-tour; best investment since longtime. For my home-studio I'm looking out for a ribbon mic to blend with my sm57. Do recommend the VR1 (for sale at 400 euro's) or take some time and go for a R121? Do you have experience with the Royer; is it the nr1 mic for guitar amps? I hope you've got time for sharing your opinion. Cheers!
Thanks! It's just a piece I wrote for this demo. I usually start each demo with an original piece of music, composed just for the demo.. keeps me on my toes :)
THE CLEAREST MOST ENTERTAINING DEMOS ON THE WEB,
THANKS.
Holy crap that solo!! I could put that on a loop for days. Just badass!!
thanks Chuck!
Pete, you actually demo amps more thoroughly than a lot of the big names on UA-cam, good stuff bro!

Many thanks from Scotland!
thanks man! hey I'm part Scottish, just a tidbit of useless info... :)
I always write an original song for each of these demonstrations..
Pete, you are so gifted my friend. The passion you have for music just shines through every note you hit...seriously.Thanks for all your hard work bud.
Great tones, inspiring music and playing and top notch demo!
Probably my favourite guitar player over the last couple of years, superb phrasing and great technique.
Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous tones.
I am gaining a lot of respect for mr. thorn. Excellent chops pete...
Thanks so much!
Pete Thorn Damn, you are one fine player, Pete...
This has got to be one of the best sounding amps that I've ever heard.
Hey Pete, kind of unrelated question if you have the time. What kind of wire / cable do you use to connect your amps with your cabs on the live room?

AdrianTracks Hi, it's good quality heavy gauge stuff, but nothing fancy. Not sure of the brand, the guy that wired my room to the live room just picked it out.
Pete Thorn Thank you brother.
That was one of the best amp demos I ever seen.Great job Pete!
Excellent as ever. Pete is my favourite.

Pete you make everything sound great . This amp really sounds impressive . I'd like to get one and run through a 2x12 cab. Enjoy all of your videos.
thanks!

Unbelievable tone from this Dynamo and no hum to boot.

Bravo John Suhr for yet another bright idea and tapping Jim on the amp
and Pete for the Demo. Well done...
Pete - everytime I see one of these videos you do it makes me want to grab a guitar. Rock on!!
My favourite part of this amps sound is the sustain of the chord, a lovely dark presence.
Superb Pete, best demo's on the net!
Pete that amp sound incredible. Thank you very much for posting this video.
I believe it means "small" or rather, "diminutive" in dutch (John Suhr is of dutch heritage)
Fantastic demonstration! It is on the wish list.
Pete - you're so called "demos" have become an addiction. GAS will ruin me for sure, if I keep watching your "channel"! Only recently accquired the blue Bogner pedal!
Besides - great amp and a great "demo" track! So much fun to watch. You really rock!
Pete Thorn inspiring as always... what a player
Thanks man!
This guy kicks ass!!!!!
thank you kind sir
Just wanted to let you know that I finally pulled the trigger on a Suhr Corso because of this video. Awesome amp!
do you still use it?
IM EXTREMELY AROUSED BY THIS AMP
Pete always makes gear demo's interesting

Hey Pete, what about the clean sounds ? anything interesting ? Thanks for the demo !
What a great amp! Going to have to look at this closer for the next amp.
Pete you really should put out a CD with all the songs from your gear reviews. They are great.
Thanks!
Great demo and playing, thank you.
Did anyone else go buy his CD like I did after this video? Great playing!
Thanks Andrew!!!!! :)
I'll think about that! Thanks!
Hey Pete,
A 5 minute demo of the Corso with the Power Control at 0 running into Logic via the Line Out with an IR for your cab would be greatly appreciated!!
OMG! You're absolutely amazing! The amp too.
Gorgeous tones!
Nice........love all your demos....great playing and feel as always!!!!!
That piece is excellent! I'm really looking forward to your next album if you have one in the works.
Killer demo, probably gonna pick this up when it ships.
GREAT demo Pete

That crunchy rhythm tone in the intro track is DAT TONE for sure!
thank you!
No, not an iso cab, the cab is in another room though- I used a v30 loaded Suhr 1-12" on this, mic'd with a 57 and an SE VR1.
This guy is a Beast on the guitar! Nice playing as always PT...
Great demo Pete.
amazing playing at the start, really want this amp!
Great Sound!!! Perfect for recording!
the one thumbs down was pools of jealousy pouring out....another great demo and I haven't heard any 5 watters at this level of complexity of tone.
Pete, you really rock!!!
That clean sound at the end, around 9:23, is just wonderful. Hopefully all the manufacturing delays have been ironed out. This might be the year this living room rockstar picks up a Corso.
As usual Pete you are a classy player sounds great
the part at 1.00 is amazing!!!!! Congrats!
Thanks again for this great demo Pete you have technique but also groove...whatever one can call it, which is not so common nowadays, ordered your cd, your playing is so inspiring, really curious to listen to it, cheers
Thanks!
Woah - I already have a Celestion V30 1X12 cab...now I just need this head!
That is bad ass Pete!
Can't wait to try one out... killer demo... very in depth and informative... thank you!!!
cool little amp! Thanks for the great demo!
Great demo Pete!
Woah!! Really nice Pete!! The amp & your playing sound incredible. Great demo!
I love this amp. Would love to see it come back with built in Suhr IR stuff...... it would still be very different than the PT15.. which is awesome, but a different beast still and different price point.
I've been in high end studios with people recording mic'd amps and cabs and with IRs.. and that simply isn't true at all.
@@bradlivey7867 I suppose it is from your experience solely. IRs are industry standart already alongside with other recording methods, and if is done properly then nobody is able to hear the difference. Lovely demo, as always!!!
Dude Pete, I honestly don't think I've ever seen you rip so hard and tasty as that intro
You are by far my favorite guitar player! Give me lessons someday?? 👍
Pete that is an absolutely killer tone you're getting out of that little guy, though I suspect that you'd be able to do the same with just about any old thing!
I long for the days of the Marshall Major on 11!
This would be a big step up for my home/recording rig. I want!
Great demo of a very good sounding low wattage tube amp from Suhr! Big amp tones at low almost bedroom volumes! You could play a $99 amp and still sound AMAZING.
The magic is in your fingers.
Thank you
thanks!!

Wow, sounds f'n awesome!!!! Thx Pete
Smart guitar playing always impress me!!!
simply a great tone !...
pete is really a cool dude
rock on!
Sounds Like Jim Kelly is making magic! Fantastic demo!
Incredible!

I hope that tune ends up on Guitar Nerd II!
amazing tele!
Pete, you might have sold me on this one. Great!
BTW, do you know if the Corso's load is a reactive load (volume all the way down)? It sounds good to my ears and full-tone frequency curve, so I'm guessing that it is reactive like the Suhr Reactive Load.
