Simplemente gracias!!!
thnx. I had just purchased some hand held scrub brushes hoping to do this. haven't gotten dark bristles yet though. I have white, red, green, yellow and blue. I'm gonna see if the white ones will take ink from Sharpie markers.
Where can I get these legs? I’m doing a hard body but with a black rooster feather in the middle. It catches fish but I like the realism of your ant. Thanks for the reply.
Thanks buddy, check it out... agrilife.org/citybugstest/files/2010/04/cant-edited-IMG_6247.jpg i consider that the details in big flies are very important when it comes to selective behavior. Best regards
Looks nice Ruben, but I thought ants had a small bump in the middle as well. You can leave it out if you tie on a wing or something. Body looks a long in the middle. Just my opinion and who knows what the fish see? All the best, and keep tying buddy, I look forward to your video's. Sean
Thanks Ruben I stand corrected. Never seen an ant like this. I live in the Eastern U.S. Perhaps this species of ant only live in a warm or tropical climate. Thanks for the information. All the best as always. Sean
+Ruben Martin I looked at the link for the ant you tyed. wow! spot on! I've tyed hard bodied ants & hackled versions for subsurface & floating but your tie seems to have all the trigger points. silhouette, color, and footprint if those legs make it float. thank you!
+Ruben Martin I will try. I've more comments. no Facebook yet. I understand some Italian, my ethnic background, so reading some Spanish I get by. I laughed when I read recipe for Barbarous. "Panza" is also a favorite dish my Sicilian Nona and my Roman Mama cooked for us, panzette I think is how its spelled. it's stuffed veal breast! m-m-m! I take it Hector Leoni developed that fly? is he the man in the long video? were you awarded the medal? the tying portion seemed like a tribute to him. you took great pains in tying. the fact that he resembles my late father and the orchestra background music made for an emotional & beautiful production. Bravo Ruben!
Yes I know they're plastic fibres.. Maybe I should have asked "where do the fibres come from? Are they bristles from a scrub brush or something like that?
Best realistic ant fly ever, loved the video. Thanks
Absolutely love watching you work, I get a lot of inspiration from you.
Thanks buddy! Glad you like it

Bloody hell cracking fly. If you were tying for floating could you use foam or aero wing. Any recommendations?
Many thanks for posting.
Even more impressed. Cheers
So would this pattern be used for nymphing ?
You're the man Ruben. Thank you for sharing.
