Imagine yourself as the driver of the GoldenPass Express, a new panoramic train that connects Interlaken and Montreux in Switzerland. You are about to embark on a journey that will take you through some of the most scenic landscapes in the world.
As you leave the lake behind, you enter the valley of the Saane River, where you pass by charming villages, green meadows, and rolling hills. You see wooden chalets with flower boxes, and churches with steeples. You feel the fresh air and the gentle breeze on your face.
You reach the famous resort of Gstaad, where celebrities and royalty come to enjoy winter sports and luxury. You admire the elegant hotels, the chic boutiques, and the glamorous atmosphere. You continue your ascent, crossing bridges and tunnels, until you reach the highest point of your journey, at Saanenmöser. Here, you are surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps, covered with snow and ice. You marvel at the beauty and the power of nature, as you see glaciers, waterfalls, and forests. You feel the thrill and the excitement of driving a train through this challenging terrain.
You begin your descent, following the course of the Sarine River, which marks the border between the German-speaking and the French-speaking regions of Switzerland. You notice the change in the language, the culture, and the architecture, as you enter the canton of Vaud. You pass by the picturesque town of Château-d’Oex, famous for its hot air balloon festival, and the historic village of Montbovon, where you switch to a different track gauge. You are now on the final stretch of your journey, heading towards the Riviera region. You see vineyards, orchards, and castles, as you approach the lake again. You have completed a memorable trip on the GoldenPass Express, a train that offers you a panoramic view of the Swiss Alps from the driver’s perspective. 🚂
