- In this LEGO city update, I continue working on the roads, train tracks, and boardwalk. That includes the construction of over 33 MILS Plates! To build all those I had to order a ton of pieces... and I ran out of other pieces LOL. Slowly but surely we are getting there and I cannot wait to get the base construction of the LEGO city done!

If at some point and you have a sewer with room underneath, then you should make a IT and a Turtles reference ^^
yes , thats what bwi has done under the school with dino lab and escaped raptors , it one of many tht incorporates the underground stations and i think the whole city is a moc
And a underground gold mind like I have ..is cool as. And. TMNT arear. I got one of the. TMNT. Set s. But not added a TMNT arear. As yet ..
YES THATS WHAT IT NEEDS
To eliminate the flex track, have the train go through the front down town segment so it's a straight shot to the train yard. It would allow more space for the board walk as well (since it's a bit unrealistic having it go in front of the water front unless you plan to build a station there)
It could be really cool to add a roundabout in the city, it would add some more visual interest to the roads.
The board walk is looking good, although you might could ditch the gard rail on the grass side and pits some benches and trash cans. It would save pieces and make a little more sense.
but a fence next to the train track is needed
@@digitalrandomart3049 remove the train track.
It would be nice to see some public art in your city like statues, monuments, or abstract art pieces.
Statue of Bricksie outside Town Hall?
This set up is coming together so well, love watching your updates everyday! Friendly suggestion to add some color to the boardwalks; add some brown fishing piers jetting out into the water, just a couple could add some cool dimensions and color to break up the grey
There's no rush, just take your time. Great progress has been made, just chill and enjoy the creative process, thanks for all you do for the community!
It’s a large project, don’t worry about redundancy and completion. The process is fluid and we are along for the ride.
You could just make one section of road with bricks. It could be a Cobblestone district.
Having a railroad station by the boardwalk would give you the ability to have a crossing over the tracks that looks good and makes sense
Just a small question: Why is the back of the boardwalk walled of? Shouldn't you just be able to enter it anywhere? Would save on parts as well.
Every time you show your beach and lighthouse I get upset that you are breaking apart the connection between the fishing store and lighthouse. That space between them looks awesome. What if you just slide that back where you originally had it without the baseplate and gradually build the beach up to it on each side. It would make the coast more dynamic and save you a bunch of water work as well as free up space behind the beach.
I agree, looks so good, what you said would look good too, creat a more dynamic varying beach/coast
I really like the idea of having an attention to detail particularly on the bicycle lane!
Hi Bricksie.
The City is taking shape beautifully, and I really love the way things are being planned so carefully. It's a HUGE accomplishment to get all the tiniest detais exacty right, but you are really getting this right!
I was wondering if the lighthouse could fit on the corner where the train yard is, but I'm not sure what your plan is, ad whether the sea will go right along?
Magnificent progress so far!
Bricksie, you're overthinking the railroad crossing. Unless it's not common in Canada you can literally just build a sidewalk crossing the tracks to the boardwalk. That type of thing is common throughout the US. You can even build a crossing point if you really want to but don't overthink it. Keep it simple dude.
Don’t feel bad about the ’mess’. Remember you are making the City the way you really want it to be. You care so much about every detail. That’s why we have so much fun watching your progress.
Could you make the boardwalk walls all the same and eliminate the rounded arch walls? It looks like you switch to the other wall design a third of the way through. I love the update though and looking forward to how this city is coming together.
Here is a thought for your beautiful boardwalk.. how about possibly ending the boardwalk a bit earlier and having a nice little shoreline in the corner. Some trees and vegetation could look cool, and it might break up the repetition of the greay and add some interesting areas for stories and pops of color... 😊
Just some simple thoughts from a simple man! Looking great broski!! 👍
Much Love from the BloodShot Studio!! ❤️🔥
Just a suggestion, but you could place a train station (possibly the new one from Bricklink) outside of the zoo between the road and train track if you need something to fill that gap. Again, just a suggestion.
If you don’t have enough space for a airport in your city, maybe you could build a heliport. It takes up a lot less space but can be just as beautiful! 🤩
Nice profile! I also ski race and like the Lamley Group UA-cam channel.
*beauty.
I love your water details!❤ cant wait to see all of the water detailed.
take your time and enjoy the building.
Idea for your boardwalk. Take off the railing against the grass and build steps up or have the grass slope up. Then you can use the arches along more of the front and have a nice open area to transition onto the grass.
The roads are really looking awesome now. So much more consistency achieved than you had when you were just getting the city on the tables. Yes, it's a process. But so is a real city. Nothing is ever "complete"... and the sidewalk at the bend of the railroad track has all kinds of possibilities. But I'm typing this as you go through your stack of new MILS road plates, so there's still lots of progress to see. Hopefully you get restocked on the 2x4 dark gray tiles and light gray inverted slopes soon. 🙂
City is coming along! Love the progress - especially the time-lapses where we get to see the process. Small worry for all the art on the ground (I'm clumsy and would kick one accidentally) - That will make a big change to the look and feel of the studio to have that up!
I love the road at 2:50 that it has a little hill road! Nice detail!
Really exciting to see all the track and boardwalk get placed down. You may have looked at it already for the rail yard, model railway layouts can help with giving you some ideas.
For the base plate alignment on the edge, have you considered creating a brick guide that overhangs the MILs plates and sits off the edge of the table? This would allow you to push the MILs tight against the table top and then can square it off. Could do it on the corners as well to get that alignment as close as possible.
you should have the boardwalk somehow connect up with a little walking/biking path that will run adjacent to the canal. would look sick!!
Take your time and by all means have fun and experiment! The best ideas come while building and the fun thing about Lego, after all, is that nothing needs to be final.
As a joke. Recreate a movie scene, put the "Up" house downtown right next to the Constuction module. And have a forklift (from new lego semitruck) back into the mailbox.
You should place the octan gas station at a different place, like close to the amusement park or on a road at the country side. Now the only two gas stations are just one street apart. It is nicer to have one somewhere completely different (and one not in the city)
It was really cool watching you renovate the warehouse, for real, but now that you are actually building the city again, its just epic!
Great channel!
For the train tracks, third party tracks like TrixBrix offer switches and other specialized parts (ex. ballast plates) that might make the alignment work better. Lego switch tracks have a weird alignment while third party switches make parallel or 90 degree switching easier. There are even custom switches designed for rail yards.
I like the added space around your modulars , really makes them shine !! Later , D.
Some cities just look too clotted right? This one can breath and let’s every building shine
For the train tracks... maybe you could use the flex track under the mountain to hide it and compensate for any differences?
Maybe? 😊
This is the first time ive been like wow that backround makes that city look amazing.
Small angled piers coming off of the boardwalk would look amazing and make it much more detailed and not blocky looking.
The road alignment near the bend in the train track and the access hole (see around 20:10 and other times) should be an easy fix; it looks like the plan is for a pair of "T" intersections, one going each way. I hope Josee is feeling better soon.
i think it would be good to look back to the video from expo things you liked and said you would like to try doing. it looks great now but seems to be thrown together , railway would be good from central station thru one hlf of city and border rural inner on one side with crossing. 2 mountains with bridge before you go too far too , canal straight thru from stair o door with bridges , ,
hard job but getting landscapes and builing from them first like we do in real project
Going to need to setup an overhead camera to get some footage/livestream from above soon, would look amazing! City's looking great!
Greetings from Australia...an idea might be to remove the fire station and university from the waterfront and put in another hotel or restaurant. Waterfront areas are usually tourist, holiday and entertainment areas. Also, as suggested in other comments from other videos, move the university to its own area where you can add more buildings a park area and a sports field.
Would be cool to have a train tunnel for the train track around 18:30. You could do all kinds of things on top of that.
Watching from Australia 🇦🇺 city is coming together well mate 👍
You could make a rounded peer when connecting the beachfront section to the boardwalk section. Adding some curves would really help with breaking up the straight lines.
Multi storey car park? Car showroom with cars? More skyscrapers / towers like the one you had wrapped around pole in basement?
Don't worry about flex tracking minor discrepancies...
THE single biggest characteristic of using any modular sytem is that eventually you'll need exceptions somewhere! The more true you stay to your modular concept, the less exceptions you'll encounter - but don't sweat them.
The modular system is a tool that should work for you - it's not a goal where you work for it...
This workspace is AWESOME. It’s really so great 👍
Depending on how you finish off the bridge over the canal, at the boardwalk, you could incorporate the pedestrian crossing into that build section
Just a suggestion, you could make the front corner by the beach all ocean, wrapping it around to the side and then put your ocean floor scene under the table if you still have it. Just a thought.
So huge! It's really coming along man!
You say you want to add angles to your city. Well, even though it’s not road you could add angles to your railroad by having the train yard but offset on an angle to allow for more trucks and containers, and potentially more ship docks for boats to load and unload cargo. The train shed could also lead around the corner of the zoo and the camp ground to allocate more rail car and truck trailer space, as a train shed would realistically be a bit of a distance from the railcar train yard. Otherwise I’m happy to see the road and the rail in front of the zoo not be bunched up together, it definitely looks neater and gives other transport like buses and taxis a chance to drop off people at the zoo!
I love that it is a work in progress and that you are bringing us along for the ride . Everyday is a surprise. Tfs
boardwalk should include a train station, would be very nice
It's probably been said before but you can use the darker blue translucent to represent deeper water especially where large boats will dock.
Love how the city is shaping up, enjoying the content.
Id like to suggest moving the train track away from the waterfront and the city table edge. Bringing it further into the city, maybe a street or so, would help eliminate the flex track and also give the train camera a better view- ie Lego on both sides rather than Lego one side, warehouse wall the other side. Just an idea!
Beauty.
I think some pedestrian bridges over parts of the roads and rail tracks would look good. Also I think you need more height the city looks quite flat. Awesome but flat. Great space though and I love the walls.
Do you have plans to make a little remote control car with a camera? Lego city streetview would be fun to see 😊
Could you fit your train station outside the zoo and have a pull in next to the current track outside?
Are u gonna add one of the soccer stadiums to your city ?
your lego city is so epic and i'm happy you got a studio. you have even inspired me to build my own lego city
Hi Bricksie, you're doing a great job with your city. I have a few suggestions that I hope you'll consider. I hope you will expand the beach so that there's more space for volleyball and other beach activities. I think you should make the bike path go behind the little shops on the boardwalk. If I remember correctly, one of those small buildings is a bike store, so I think that would be appropriate. I also think you should add more parking spaces going along beside where the train track is on the edge of the table, replacing the sidewalk on that side of the road. I saw a few of them in a line and considering how there's not much parking in your city, I think it's a good idea to continue them, and it would probably safer for the minifigs too to not have a sidewalk right beside a train track. Another consideration is to change the bike path color so it looks more different from the water.
you should get your purple bricksie logo painted on one of your walls like upstairs or on the wall in the stairway. also when doing your mountains i think It would be cool if you added a volcano to make the mountains a little more interesting.
Your city looks Awesome and getting its way finished because you do everything so fast in 30 min video, You should make a speed champion race track in your city 🏎️…. Also if you have more space, you should put an airport ✈️ in the middle runway.
Loving the new city aspects, in the UK the boardwalk wound be called a Promenade usually found in most costal towns.
It’s still crazy seeing that it looks like you could still expand out front like another 30% more tables and that’s just looking at your carpeted area
Looks great, don't stress too much to try to get lots done in a short time.
I know for videos you would want it though
If that awkward road layout stays near the Diner and Zoo area, wonder if he could build a roundabout. It would only have to be one lane wide. Would require some advanced lego techniques, even if it is more of a hexagon than a circle, it would be something different.
Flex track rules. Different size and curvature for curves, connect train track when you need a little more of less. It is great. I have never understood Lego city creators dislike of it.
I know you really want your city done but slow down a bit and enjoy the process.
I think once the train like is set he’ll be able to enjoy it a bit more
Loving the progress. City is looking great
You should have a lot of subscribers. Did you work hard and that’s amazing Lego city.
Idea for a building to you and or Lego: A futuristic vertical garden highrise, a new green change building for your modern city
It would be cool if the train track went over a short trestle as it passed the lighthouse into the train yard.
Great videos great to see the city coming along
suggestion for the zoo have a tran going through a zoo like they do here in jacksonvill Florida
Would you ever run power to the city for lights and things?
The arch under the bridge is too tiny, maybe make a bigger bridge with cables, would look pretty cool :)
You should look into some trix brix products. They sell smaller straight track segments and tighter switches that will take up less space. Great quality as well. Definitely worth a look
Have you considered giving some elevation near the boardwalk? I know that it doesn’t have to be realistic but the water, tracks and street are all on the same level
Should at the white line tiles into your new corner pieces. That way the lanes flow
If you ever do a mountain, you could do a Wayne manor on top with a batcave underneath
I know this would take a million years but i was just wondering if swapping your parts and build area with the lego displays would make working on the city a bit easier? Either way its amazing!!
No need to rush the building of the city, take your time and enjoy the building process :), Here is an Idea, separate the Lighthouse and put it in the corner near the stair case going up to the balcony
Awesome work Jordan! Love how it looks and love the of the story telling as far as I can see ❤ 😊
Keep up the great work!
Hey I love the vids bricksie
Keep up the amazing work
Hope you and your family is well 😊
@Bricksie just an idea to add detail how about small covered shelters on the boardwalk with soda machines and ice machine for minfigs on the boardwalk? Maybe one bigger one on each end with vending machines and ice machine but smaller ones with just soda machines along the middle.
Make little airport!!
There should be a pedestrian crossing for the boardwalk by the hotel since that is close to the other end of the boardwalk.
@Bricksie
How about move the rails from boardwalk 2 plates back to the area between the houses? So it goes inbetween the block of houses. Thats an empty area now, you can also build a little bridge that it can go over the canal.
So on the front there is houses, sidewalk, bicycle path, road, boardwalk and sea.
make the grand emporium road a half baseplate pedestrian street so you can line up the roads at the front
boardwalk could use some benches and trash cans eventually but definitely needs some light poles. least of your worries for now though ---- Edit: good job on the design, looks very clean
it would be cool to expand the ferris wheel pier!
It would be useful to have two tracks so that the trains could pass each other, it would look more realistic, but how much material is needed
Board walk looks promising! are you planning on making some view points or parts that stick out a bit into the sea? I think that would break up the triple straight line with the road, train tack and walk next to each other quite well :)
What about a train station before the curve that connects the street and boardwalk? That way people can take the train to the boardwalk
Awesome progress. Looking great
love the new lego city and how big it is keep up the amazing work.👍
Love your content ❤. Ref. to the boardwalk. The arches IMO (not criticism) look way better than the inverted slopes. Keep up the great work.
Are you going to add a river entrance under the boardwalk? Also, I’d love to see some larger bridges like a suspension bridge somewhere in the city! Looks good as it’s all coming together!
central perk stairs could use rails so the minifigs dont fall down imo . keep up the content.
