Thought anyone that has reviewed hundreds watches would know this if they've held one in their hand.

Great video, thank you! There's a mistake on the specs of the Benyar, though. The case is alloy. All Benyar cases are alloy. You can see the reflection on the inner ring of the case. Cheers!

@@weswatches Yes, Benyar sometimes declares stainless steel and that's why they receive severe criticism from some reviewers. It's strange, since they are the same company as Pagani, and Pagani doesn't lie about their specs. I have my eyes on that Cadissen Lunar Pilot! It looks spectacular. Thanks!
Another lovely haul! Our Chinese watchmaker friends have realised something others do not. Demand for watches is not in decline, and there is a huge market, but we are not millionaires, and we have also rediscovered mechanical watches as environmentally friendly, battery-free options, that can last many decades!
The watches in your haul are all beautiful, and of a high quality, that were simply never made at affordable prices before the quartz revolution! In the early 70s, a good watch would cost above 100 dollars or pounds, which now would be (Pentagon uses a doubling about every 17.5 years, or 4% inflation) around 800, just for a basic watch!
If you bought something mechanical cheaper, they were not even close to 30 seconds per day, but you were happy, if they stayed at less than 5 minutes off, and you checked them twice a day with the radio news!
I am simply amazed at how my contract factory made NH35A equipped watches perform, and that I got them not for 300, but under 70 dollars a piece!
Watchmaking took a giant leap in 1969. No, it was the Seiko QUARTZ, not the Moon! Shortly after, the pressure was on to bring prices down! We finally also have absolutely great affordable mechanical watches! I remember seeing Seiko-5 for around 80 dollars in the early 90s at a membership warehouse (over 300 in today's money, so don't complain about the new and improved Seiko 5 line at 200 a piece!), but that was the only affordable mechanical option I remember, and I had been a quartz convert since my teens in the 70s, with quartz abundant in the 20 dollar range since the late 70s!

Three of these are already on my wish list. (Waiting for prices to drop back near 6 month lows to purchase) I do steer clear of Benyar. With so many watches available with Seiko movement and SS for not that much more for me it is worth it to just dig a wee bit deeper in the wallet. The Pagani NH34 "Worldtimer" is one you may want to get in; I was able to order it just last night for under $80.

I got this benyar during covid years, and put it on a dark brown leather strap and it looks and performs fantastic. Sod the metal, who cares, it just looks bloody nice for bugger all cost. And this from me with stupidly expensive watches too.
