    Awesome video! Can’t beat it. I’m looking into scouting some spots this summer and trying to get a couple holes on some WMA’s to open up more opportunities for me. What can I expect going down during the summer on water levels? Will i be able to run my boat on the black river? You have seemed to be really nice in these comments answering questions. I’ve been searching for someone I can shoot some questions at.. not wanting any holes or not even what area to hunt! Just wondering what to expect! Thanks.

    • @timberbosscalls
      @timberbosscalls  Рік тому +1

      Man honestly I have never been to black river. I have heard the shoot them up that way, but also heard they have it a mess up there. Tons of boats all unloading at 4 am in a ditch and taking off. Im sure the game and fish will do something about it tho. At hurricane last year they were flying drones watching people to see if they passed it the creeks, and wrote tickets for passing/"unsafe boating". I know normally during summer the cor of engineering releases water and white river will stay close to 30ft normally which floods hurricane. I dont know what actually feeds black river or what damn if any it linked to it. I normally stay at hurricane,cache, or white river. We did hunt dagmar is 2017 everyday nearly and was killing big limits there.

      That boat there was a 550 havoc db with a 50 2 stroke yamaha with lightened flywheel. Ran 47 empty. That day there I was loaded with all the gear. So maybe hitting low 40s. My brother was one of the few boats in front of me.

    I see 6 boats in the race, and 5 of them have just the operator on board. Is it just a small, fast boat with one guy from the group racing to a spot to claim it for the group, and then the rest of the group rides into the timber later on?

    • @timberbosscalls
      @timberbosscalls  Рік тому +1

      That is 100 percent correct! I was carrying all the gear in this video, loaded down my boat would run around 40mph, the boats that ran off from me were mid 50s boat with just the guy driving. Game and fish have really put a hurting on the racing, tho at this particularly WMA. The ditch at the start is now a no wake zone all the way to the bridge. G&F has also been flying drones and setting up in the creek to make sure there is no passing. Since creek is narrow for the most part, they have been writing unsafe boating tickets.

    I've decided to start hunting public land this season so I'm feeling pretty excited/ nervous for the boat races. obviously you can't speak for all public WMA's but how can y'all be so confident that you wont hit a sunken log with your outboard? I'm running a 15' grizzly with a 25hp outboard. I will have the motor on the tilt function, but is there anything else I can do besides scout? thanks

    • @timberbosscalls
      @timberbosscalls  6 років тому

      William Young I have hit logs running wide open and had the tiller pulled from my hand! Most deffenily will make your hair stand up!! Kill cord and life jackets are key! And during the summer I try to scout and remember any spot with stumps. You never know what floats in when the water gets high tho. Just have to keep your eyes open and hold on for the ride!

    • @timberbosscalls

      William Young until you get to know the WMA very well I would always start out in the back of the pack. In this video there was i bet close to 100 boats behind me. It's better to get in the back and not get hurt if you are not 100 percent comfortable with the boat and know your way around.
