Still Alive from Portal is an available DLC track, and it comes with the album cover too. Which means that *Gordon Freeman is part of an official Lego game.*
I had this game when I was 7 years old and it was my first exposure to blink-182, Sum 41, and Foo Fighters. All of whom are bands that I still love to this day.
@@coolfinel I did as well. I think the soundtrack is fairly decent, but the story was a bit overly complicated and not your usual set up. And I didn't find many of the game play user friendly. Though, I'm still trying to find out how to unlock each song, and not play almost the same songs in each venue. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
I remember when I heard about this game for the first time multiple years ago. I never really paid it much mind back then, but looking back, it's rather odd that LEGO Rock Band was even a thing. It just goes to show you how big Guitar Hero and Rock Band were back in the day. It's rather interesting that the Ghostbusters theme was in the soundtrack, since LEGO Ghostbusters products have been sold many years later.
I remember early on before any updates, you were able to play Perfect Drug and March of the Pigs in Lego Rock Band. But I haven't played it since I was a weelad, so I don't remember when they fixed that. All I remember was thinking how funny it was seeing Lego Figures play these songs, along with Young Man Blues and The Trees. Great times.
Something interesting about this game is how British it is. Very UK centric with all the NME 2000s indie favorites, along with loading screens telling us about a "soccer pitch" in the fun facts. Also there's a reason Lostprophets never showed up again, look up Ian Watkins and after reading about what he did seeing his band in a game for kids will make you sick. Great videos by the way, subbed
I hope it’s possible to complete the home console versions WITHOUT performing Rooftops! Otherwise, I may only get the Wii version if it has Nintendo DS connectivity, or see if there’s a hack I can sideload that swaps said song out for something from Rock Band 1 or 2! (At least Rooftops is NOT in the DS version, thank Christ!) Let’s just be thankful that Rooftops is the ONLY song I ever knew Lostprophets for, me relying on regular broadcast radio for most of my music discoveries! I was recently horrified to find there’s a Lostprophets song in one of my FAVORITE games from my teenage years, Need For Speed Underground (at least it’s not in the arcade and GBA versions!), but THANK CHRIST for the EA Games Trax menu that lets you prevent it from being played!
Lego Rock Band is my favorite of the whole Rock Band series. I always found Lego studs easier to follow and hit rather than regular rectangular notes. I bought almost every family friendly song just because it works in Lego Rock Band. 😉👍
Ha really? That's what I had trouble with since I came from RB2 lol, funny to hear that it was easier for you, I bet others feel the same (possibly if it was their first Rock Band, or they just preferred it.) Happy to hear you got all those FF songs, because the marketplace is closing in a couple days, so you technically just saved a bunch of tracks to play in the game! (Only if you're on Xbox tho, different for PS)
I remember I got this game for "free" during some Black Friday promotion with Old Navy when it came out. They were giving away vouchers to the first people that showed up but we were kinda late and bought one off of someone.
I was initially turned off by the more cartoony tone/delivery this video had compared to the others but then realised it was probably because this is a lego game. Nice touch
I basicly bought this for the songs. Played it with my younger brothers once and never returned to it. This game came out a year before rockband 3, but the songs were also playable in rockband 2 and i think they worked in rockband 1
A few days ago i was wondering what Bowie songs were in Rockband and so looked at C3 hoping i would find Let’s Dance then i saw it was on this games Setlist which made me weirdly happy
Loved this game back in the day. I was 12 when it came out and got it for Chistmas that year and played it to death, much to my family's annoyance. I have a soft spot for it and I hope to go back and play it again someday. The censorship of the songs and the gameplay didn't bother me so much and I enjoyed the story for what it was. The fact that I could customize every band member by myself was so much fun. I even managed to make all the band members of Green Day in one of my save files. I personally loved it. Would've loved a sequel but I get it wasn't for everybody.
I liked this game. Dreaming of You, In Too Deep, and Rooftops were some of my favorites. And Word Up! I wish there were more songs, but the story cutscenes had the Lego charm I knew. That’s why I like the game. It still is weak, though. I don’t know what could have been done to make it better.
I'd say the only thing that would make the game better is if it had a few more songs. It got exhausting having to play Bon Jovi for the thousandth time.
Such a shame I never got to export the setlist on this game. I only got Rock Band 1 and 2 exported to RB3 and RB4 before their licenses expired, and sadly, I got the games after Lego Rock Band's export had expired forever. That's licensing music for ya. Only five years, and then your contract is up. I still hold hope that there is one way to get it today, but only a little, because from what I have heard, it's difficult to get it nowadays, and even more of a hassle to play it on Xbox 360. Not sure if it is though, since all I have heard is hearsay.
I still find curious that Harmonix didn't make a LEGO Rock Band pack for Rock Band Unplugged, like, literally it was just grab the charts from the Ds version and they have easy money there but, apparently they never got that idea In mind lmao.

You should have also compared the songs to their positions on the UK Singles Chart, since TT is a British company it seems like a lot of the song choices were made to reflect that with a lot of songs from UK artists that were never that popular in the US but were well known across the pond, plus how most of the guest celebs were from British groups.
They should’ve done a recall program, allowing us to replace our discs with ones where that song is replaced by one from Rock Band 1 or 2! Hope such a fan patch can be sideloaded while still letting you access Xbox Live/PSN and add to your Achievements and Trophies! (My only argument for NOT hacking your console)

Actually, none of the Rock Band 2 disc songs got the family friendly tag, so Eye of the Tiger was not an example of a song playable in LEGO.

The only thing good about Band Hero is that it allowed all the DLC on it (Even though I don't play DLC on Band Hero)
Which means you can have a band consisting almost exclusively of Taylor Swift clones rocking out to Metallica
Someone make a video of that! Id like 2 C the like to dislike ratio!
