- Filmed at Kent House, Knightsbridge, London on 10 September 2011, at "The Time and The Place", an event to mark the 40th anniversary of the hugely popular TV series 'THE PERSUADERS!". Just before the event, Sir Roger Moore ("Lord Brett Sinclair") attended this press photo-call with the original restored Aston Martin DBS that he and co-star Tony Curtis had used throughout the TV series in 1970-71. The event was hosted by Barry Norman who interviewed Roger and hosted a Q & A session with the 200+ paying guests. Two of the 24 episodes of the TV series were screened at the event, which was also the launch event for the new Blu-ray high definition DVD boxed set of The Persuaders!
The soundtrack of John Barry is so beautifully nostalgic. What a masterpiece.
Precisely.
Such an evocative piece of music, as a young child I recall hearing this when my folks watched it and it had such a dark forboding presence about it.
Mysterious, glamourous, exciting and dangerous. An incredible composition.
I love it. Such a great piece of music.
The music is the best Part of the whole series 👍
Lovely car with such a classy guy, rip Roger and thanks for the memories.
È sempre un piacere vedere un uomo di classe, un vero gentleman come Roger Moore
The best and the pure James bond !
I remember watching the show as a boy loved it and the car what a great colour
I always liked roger moore, he was perfect to play bond, and he was always impeccibly dressed.
he looked good in his clothe's.
Not the least bit showy or arrogant.
just himself.
He was really good in FFolke's.
But Sir Roger Moore was the only James Bond who never used Aston Martin.
I met him totally by chance whilst on vacation in London, in Upper Brooke Street, he was paying a parking meter at the time, I asked him for his autograph to which he replied "surely my lady", he is the perfect English gentleman, just as he is in the films and on tv (ᅌᴗᅌ✿)
how tall would you say he was, and did he appear quite broad in real life?
@@jackthompson361 Apparently Lee Marvin (no slouch himself) after filming a fight scene with Moore, said he was a brick house, he kept up a workout regimen & there are photos of him tan & shirtless in middle age.
I got an Autograph from Roger as well just outside the Ritz "Green Park" lovely man.
Of course you would expect nothing less from him.
Wow fantastic x
RIP Sir Roger Moore you will be sadly missed
@@alfa-psi Tony Curtis 1925-2010.
I saw him live in Cornwall a couple of years before he passed. A class act with a wonderful sense of humour. Lovely guy. RIP
I agree... I still don't believe that Roger is dead
Just one word:
CLASS.
Sir Roger, greetings from Italy.
Goodbye, Tony.
I feel privileged to have watched the show when it first came out on TV. As a young boy I got to see hero types with wit intelligence and humor. Even the theme stuck in my mind to this day.
84 years old and he patiently stands there with a smile while they take their pictures. Class act. And a gorgeous car.
Very tall.

...except for the colour (of the car)...
The best duo ever Curtis+Moore..Watched DVD 's hundred times and still do..
Sir Roger Moore, The best James Bond there will ever be.
Creeping the British top up sir!
No no no ! The best was,is and will be forever Sean Connery !
@@philippebuwel1580totally agree, but Moore comes a close 2nd
100%
Yes Yes Yes! I completely agree! For me, Roger is synonymous with 007!
my favorite James Bond, great man, rest in peace honorable 007!!!!😢
Roger moor ,sean connery and pierce Bronson played excellent roll as james bond series.
Connery get James Bond role
Another actor can't
Inside Dr No documentary
I agree!
God bless his soul. He made my lonely days happy.
He was actually the first choice for James Bond. The role was offered to him but the producers of the saint had Moore under contract andrefused to allow it. Connery was actually their second choce. Sorry if I'm repeating something already posted here.
His the best bond
Just two German TV channels weekly presenting Bond Movies, starting with Sean Connery, now we are in the phase of the 70ties with Roger Moore He was at this movies in real live older than Sean, but he is (as I can tell this as a man) an good looking guy and womanizer. The crazy side on these Bond movies were the script, with todays view more than 40 years later, those scripts of the always repeating stories are the trashest of the trash Moonraker is the worst one, independent of the comercial sucess. This remember me to Raumschiff Orion.
Best bond actor in combination with the script, perhaps because they are not so old, is for me Pierce Brosnan
And older than Connery
That's not true. David Niven was Fleming's first choice.
@@Fireglo Well. technically not correct either. He reportedly wanted Cary Grant initially and Niven was mentioned too. I doubt whether producers would have wanted to start a series with either seeing both were already in their fifties. The only statement I've actually seen from Flemming on the matter is that he thought Richard Burton would be the best. So who know ? Seems here are a million stories out there.
What a magical moment for all Roger Moore fan's.
Loved him in all his TV shows and then the Bond films.
RiP beautiful soul.
Watching in Lock down here in the UK.
Roger Moore and Tony Curtis in the Persuaders in the 70ies plus Emma Peel and Patrick Macnee in the Avengers of the 60ies - Those were the days- fond memories - Classics forever ! RIP epic actors !
Such an evocative piece of music, as a young child I recall hearing this when my folks watched it and it had such a dark forboding presence about it.

Yes. It's a great piece of music. I love it.
Uno de los GRANDES GRANDES actores ingleses... Un señor caballero ingles... Para mi, el mejor James Bond... R I P Roger...
Class, style, looks, wit, charm....but enough about me, Roger was pretty good too wasnt he. Unforgettable. ✌🏽
Lol Mr Wilder.
Are you related to Gene. You have his wit 😃
I thought he wasn't the best Bond, but I changed my mind.
I think he was the best because was more ironic than other players and maybe more British, to say so, than others. He was and still is an excellent actor and a lovely man.
Lovely car, and definitely charming Roger Moore.
Q tal señoron cencillo así deben ser todo los actores en vida fue muy especial Roger Moor
The consummate gentleman. And a beautiful car but … THE COLOUR! And remember, this was the age of harvest gold and avocado green kitchen appliances. What were they thinking?
SIR ROGER MOORE UNFORGETTABLE ICON.
Nostalgia, che serie ! Che personaggi differenti tra loro, ma quanta intesa. Solo lui poteva essere Lord Sinclair con la sua English class. Che ricordi ...
Still greatly missed. Would have loved to have seen him at the 50th anniversary a couple of months ago. R.I.P. Sir.
it seems like he was missing tony curtis(RIP)
EL SANDIEGAN Now I miss them both ✌🏽
1:02 Wow. That kind of class is rare to find these days...
Roger Moore, con los años encima, siempre se le recordara, en la serie "El Santo".
thank you for ever Roger and RIP Tony.
Roger looking immaculate as always.
Wow! This film/photo shoot is cool... Imagine one being there and able to say Hi, to a great actor and one of the Bond guy's..Roger Moore was always a favorite actor of mine and I can remember back in the day, watching the t.v. series the Saint and hoping I could be just as clever...
My dad met Roger once in London in the 60s, said he was a lovely man. A real gentleman and friendly too.
Definitely one of the most nicest and generous person in the world. RIP.
Gracias Roger Moore por haber entretenido nuestras vidas. Thank you Sir. 🇨🇱🇬🇧
Right
....I'm very glad to see Sir Roger in good shape the Persuaders for me the best series that i've ever seen....Mitici from Italy!!
I really loved Lord Brett Sinclair, my myth, his style, his figure. RIP dear man!
my favorite Bond!
The best James Bond forever ! Thanks Sir.
Of course he Played 3 characters, Simon Templer (The Saint), This Lord Brett Sinclair in The Persuaders with Tony Curtis & James Bond. He played Sherlock Holmes once. No one can be like him.
Roger only played 1 character, Roger Moore.
Loved the way he never took himself to seriously. and he loved skiing, top bloke.
Sir Roger Moore the best actor from u.k. I've always seen his movies, I like them so much!!!
He was a perfect gentleman everytime everywhere. Unique 🌟
Pure class and an absolute gentleman. Sadly missed
i agre greatings from sweden
Il vero lord. RIP Roger.
Great man! Great car! Great TV series! And he looked suave and dapper into his 80s. He will be missed.
A genuine SIR! Great car, great actor!
Sir Roger Moore was a legendary and iconic star who was liked and loved by millions. He was known for his charismatic personality and good manners throughout his friends.
RIP.
One of the last real gentleman! So sad he past away! I love the Bond and Persuaders movies !! I miss the 70th. Present sucks...
I love him in 'The Saint', particularly when he whips the villains. R.I.P.
What about Danny with the ferrari dino?
Best bond all day long
Adore Sir Roger Moore :-)
I agree - he is a legend!
Oh! So THAT is the colour of Brett Sinclair`s Aston Martin. I have only seen it in black and white. Thought it was silver!
True all my childhood was The Saint, The Persuaders and 007. R.I.P my hero of past times.
RIP Sir Roger Moore mon acteur préféré 😢💜
c'est aussi mon acteur préféré depuis des années j'etais triste quand j'ai appris sa mort 😢
Sir Roger Moore is the BEST James Bond forever
Sir Roger Moore absolute class act, never took himself too seriously. Always keeping the BRITISH end up
The spy who loved me.👍😀
Loved the show when it was on, but absolutely loved the Aston and the Dino. 2 of my truly favourite cars. Sir Roger was pretty good as well
A beautifull car
It's kind of weird that the Aston Martin DBS is a major part of his run on The Persuaders and yet he still remains as the only Bond to never drive an Aston Martin during his Bond film era.
Using an Aston Martin as a car-cum-submarine would have been too far fetched even for James Bond so it was a Lotus for Roger.
he did drive one in the Canonball Run:)
The Lotus Esprit was a much better, faster and better handling car than any of the Astons in the Bond films. It wasn't until the DB9 and Vantage that there were actually better and faster Bond cars than the Lotus Roger drove in the Spy Who Loved Me.
Music, unmistakably by John Barry!
You just have to love old Rog!
What a guy!
A Lovely man. How sad he has gone!
Great actor and my idol. RIP Roger. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
goodbye! Roger goodbye ! :(
Are you sure that's Knightsbridge, London
Didn't see many Asians or Eastern Europeans on that Street Old Bean.
Its a Funny Old World we live in today?
Yes. It's called The Modern World My Boy.
Several years ago, I had the pleasure of attending an interview of Roger Moore by New York Times film critic A.O. Scott at the New York Times building theater in Manhattan; Moore was promoting his first book, My Word Is My Bond, and he was self effacing and delightful. Moore clearly enjoys his association with the Bond movies and he never took himself too seriously. He is pleasant to fans and his work with UNICEF is admirable.
+Mrlmiller Speaking of Moore and his role as James Bond, you say "he never took himself too seriously."
Nor did anyone else...
Piss off, you're wrong, you nobody!
LFOVCF Oh yeah, poo poo face. How so?
What a fine piece of automobile for the perfect gentleman. RIP Sir Roger Moore 🙏
Too Cool..
Miss You, Roger & Tony...
In his youth he was a very handsome man!
I've got Roger Moores Collections of The Saint & this The Persuaders His era of James Bonds movies. I also got this Aston Martin DBS as Corgis Diecast Collections with him as figure looking at his Aston Martin DBS.
Roger un actor original, carismático ,mi actor favorito de siempre rodeado de chicas lindas en todas sus peliculas...
Roger Moore always looked super smooth and cool as Simon Templar, Lord Brett Sinclair and James Bond. His bespoke suits were always top notch.
You were my Mum's hero.
RIP Sir Roger.
He is dignity personified. However he always thought that he should have a real job or profession to fall back on in case acting failed. As such he became the front man for the British wool & woolen clothing marketing board additionally he started his very own weaving company & made woolen broadcloths on the bolt (ie the reels/folds of wool on 3 wide cardboard panels) for use by bespoke tailors, he also had his own men's suit label for a while. He was very impressed by the patented Australian light weight wool weaving process, the outcome/product being called "Celsius 30 Wool", the finish being not unalike mercerised cotton. Giving the fine wool a heavy and polished feel similar to that of silk, being light but "falling" or "sitting" heavy giving the fabric a flowing grace, a magnificent look and light weight for hot climates, as 30 degrees celsius is 86 degrees fahrenheit. My grandfather patented the process, the machines & the name for that wool product as Celsius 30 becoming very popular in the late 60's & 70's. Roger Moore used this Australian wool weaving process for his suits and fabrics . .
I would rather have seen him reunited with his Volvo P1800 from “The Saint.”
R.I.P. Sir Roger.👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Ah. A wonderful man from the greatest era of TV. nothing comes close today.
Best 007 ever...
My fiancée urged me to watch A Princess for Christmas (2011) with her some years ago. I was delighted to see Sir Roger Moore in that film and to hear those mellifluous tones as he enunciated.
As a young boy I loved watching Sir Rodger Moore in Ivanhoe great memories rest in peace 🙏 🙏
I see it has been announced by Bonhams that the Persuaders Aston Martin will be sold by auction at the Aston Martin factory on 17 May 2014. It is expected to sell for between 350,000 and 550,000 GB Pounds. I wish I would be the new owner...
If I had the money, I would pay a MILLION for that car. I happen to know that the inside of the boot (trunk) has been signed in big marker pen by both Roger and Tony. Yes, I'd pay a £ 1million £ for that car.
There is not tv show like The persuaders (two intrepid guys, in Spanish) funy, with a touch of suspense, fashion and luxury places as hotels in Monaco. Music introduction composed by a genius. And those cars Aston Martin and Ferrari.
Greetings from the farest country in the world in SouthAmerica.
I really admire sir Roger Moore. I grew up with his tv-shows and movies, and the thing is that there isn't anyone around like him today to step into his shoes and that's sad.
I really admire Sir Roger. He's such a good sport - he is rich enough and old enough to not have to do this kind of thing but still makes the effort for his fans.
Genial, verlo otra vez a Roger Moore y con el Aston Martin 😏😎 un magnífico RECUERDO de mi vida.
🤘😜 REST IN PEACE ROGER
JAMES BOND 007

Roger is a brilliant man and so likeable, unlike connery.
I agree.
+Marc Law What exactly is unlikable about Connery and so brilliant about Roger?
Rest in Peace Sir! You were an incredible man.
Went to see him LIVE when he was 'on tour' a couple of years ago. A very funny man who has a lot of compassion for life. He will always be remembered as the 'Saint', the best Bond ever. RIP to a great actor.
Connery is a nationalist jock, made his fortune in England though
I really miss you sir moore
You will always in my heart..
Sad that Tony Curtis couldn't be there.
Dear old Roger. A legend. And so is the car. Never to be forgotten. Memories of better times. RIP.
Increible que no este más el gran actor Roger Moore fué un tipico James Bond 007 elegante y simpático.
Nopie-dokie. The American business-wiz chuztpah Tony Curtis character had his own vehicle -- a Ferrari Dino 246 GT. Being a multi-millionaire, apparently he did not believe in ride-sharing with His Highness.
BONJOUR.! Merci MONSIEUR ROGER MOORE DE VOTRE NOBLESSE DE GRANDE STAR QUE VOUS RESTERAI...UNE BELLE ETOILE..!!! À BIENTÔT.
😂🤣♥️♥️♥️🤗🤗🤗
My mom took me to see Live and Let Die as a 7 year old in ‘73, and Man With the Golden Gun a year later.
Although I have enjoyed all actors playing Bond, Moore was my first Bond. He was a gentleman. :)
I was working on Octopussy a number of years ago. He loved to play backgammon with Cubby Broccoli and was often late on set.
Ivanhoe!!!
Mi querido santo simón templa el más guapo y refinado descansé en paz
Nice looking car!
R.I.P. Roger
