    Thanks for this. Backed out of the garage with my door open (?) and accidentally hooked the trash toter. Wasn't much, but it knocked the door out of alignment. Fortunately, the screws weren't frozen. Your fix - and I was searching for one - did the trick.

    Thanks John for adding the tip about jacking the door up. I had already used up all the slack in the adjustment screws and it still sags down too far. Going to try the jack next. I think the car was side swiped on the driver side at some point cause when i had it sand blasted, there was a lot of bondo in the outside of the door.

    I love the screwdriver handle with a socket drive in it. Good tips on shocking the frozen screws.

    John;
    Another area to look for on sagging doors is that the hole inside the hinge may be worn out. In that case, even with adjusting the hinges and trying to bend them may not fully cure the problem. The reason I know this is that I had to machine new bushings for all my MGB door hinges when I rebuilt my MGB. The hinge holes were pretty much oval after 40 years of use.
    I agree with you about the door screws being too tight. I think the guy at the factory had to have the biggest cheater bar in the plant when he torqued those screws.
    Happy Holidays to you and your crew.
    Regards;
    Ron Kluwe

    This is awesome! I'd heard of shocking screw threads, but never seen it done before. I've gotta get a brass hammer now!

    # 4 Pozidrive on a small impact gun works pretty well also.

    The difference between a tradesman and an owner is that the owner would have replaced and greased those screws.... I would have!

    And still the door doesn’t line up correctly. Stand back and look at the swage line, it’s not level.

    hey, great stuff you do here...How about a door that shuts good, but when you push it there is some play when closed?

    John I have replaced the door panels and rubber on the doors of my 1969 MGB. Now the passenger door doesn’t close. Seems the new pieces are too thick to let the door close properly. What do you recommend?

    Some lighting would be a good idea when making video.
