I felt bad for this guy, especially when he broke down and cried. I think it was here he began to see what a bad decision he made. I do not think he is a bad man, he just did something bad without thinking through the long term consequences. Thats what i got out of this film: your actions, whether well thought out or not ALWAYS HAVE CONSEQUENCES. I think what most of us (including me) fail to ask ourselves is what might those consequences be and CAN I LIVE WITH THEM!!

His problem was his attitude. As an adult, his life was all about choices and consequences. This flick was made in the early 1950's, back in the salad days of a once great nation. He had more opportunities than most young people living today, and he threw them all away.

Blimey! I joined the Womens' Royal Air Force in 1985 and all we got told about was not getting pregnant, not catching an STD, and watching out for Russian spies. We got up to all manner of shenanigans but as long as it wasn't actually illegal the RAF turned a bit of a blind eye. Happy days!

This was probably aimed at young cadets and possible military dropouts. The ones who want to leave any way possible once they find out how hard the life is.
