Great video! glad to see you posting new videos.
That makes perfect sense and explains why I can sit on a toilet with no pain but not sit on an ordinary chair or seat of any kind without pain. So I'm off up the garden now to get my kneel pad and try it out. Thank you x
you are welcome!
Looking good, Doc. Thanks for this very informative and helpful video.
This is what I read somewhere..cant remember..but I got SEVERE sciatica an each time I had driven on a road trip for over 2 hrs an next day..bam...sciatica.. im def trying this for all the time. I wonder why car makers make seats like this?
Very informative. Thank you. I will try these. Interesting as well!
Getting ready for a `10 hour car drive, so will do the wedge type of thing instead of the lumbar roll. Thanks!
How did it work?
@@DanAnear worked well. When I think to do this! I do this all the time when seated on the floor in yoga postures. Sitting on the edge of a folded blanket, and it allows the pelvis to easily tilt forward. So much much more comfortable in my body. Gail
Great, thanks! My Toyota corolla seat is horrible, no butt support, only rails on side and bar across front. Great mpg doesn't matter if the car cripples.
I feel your pain even Volvos are sucky
Hey Dr. Hesch! I have had SIJ issues for around 2 years after an fai surgery on my right hip. We still do not know what is going on with my SIJ after 2 years and seeing many many professionals. I live in Minnesota so I don't think it would be possible to visit you in Colorado, but are there any pts you have trained in the Minnesota area? At this point in my recovery I am contemplating getting Prolotherapy or other 'experimental' ligamentous procedures done. I'm only 16 and am an avid athlete who has not been able to run for 2 years. Anything would help sir. Thank you!
I'm going to send a more in depth email to your institute as well!
Hi did you get the email questions addressed? Thank you
Jerry hesch
Thanks for your comment. I'm also in Minnesota so would be interested in anything you've learned about local options. I may also have options of use to you.
Can you make a video about the proper way to sleep? Tried using the seat wedge & amazing results! Instant better posture! Thank you :)
Yes will do soon
Proper way to sleep is on your right side. As per the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and per science.
Sleeping on your right, takes compression away from your heart and takes pressure off of your cardiac apex. You can do this by also laying on your right and raising your knees towards your chest to whatever angle you feel comfortable in. This helps take away pressure off of your lwoer back.
And if you wear heels, and hence have lordosis, this raising up of the knees while sleeping will give a little kyphosis and take away some of the pressure off of your spine lordosis.
Anyways, I don't want to bore you, but you can look into it lol. I don't remember all of the benefits, these are just a few.
I put a 5mm lift under my right sit-bone for the first time today which felt good/helpful but the muscle to the right of my upper spine got really sore/fatigued. Wondering if I just need to start slower @jerry? I do have hEDS so possibly I can't directly apply the advice in this video to myself. Sitting has always been difficult for me so was/am pretty excited about this simple fix. Thanks.
Hi Jerry,
I have SI joint problem for 20 years, has gone thur many therapist and choir…etc.
They could not fix me.
I have be told , I have:
LF inflare/ RT outflare
RT SI lockup
LF backwardrotation / RT forwardrotation
LF up slip
I almost give up therapy treatment, is going to looking SI fusion surgery, then I find you on UA-cam .
I live in Vancouver Canada, do you know anyone in Vancouver 3:23 use your method treating SI joint?
Great video
I think i get it knees over toes and hips over knees, but, when getting up from a chair,do recommend leaning before standing, so my head and neck are parallel, or .....?
Saw a video you did years ago on ilioinguinal nerve. I just had an ALIF surgery (8 weeks ago) for L4/L5 Revision and now I have burning pulling pain when I stand longer than 20 minutes. It is on my lower left ab toward the hip but sometimes moves up slightly or toward the pubic area. It is strand because I remember being very sore in that area right after surgery, more pain than the incision in the middle and even my back? Thanks for any advice on how I could get it checked. Ultrasound? MRI? or a way to release that nerve if its trapped or how long should I wait to see the vascular surgeon that did that portion of the fusion. Thanks
Whatever ended up happening? Did you get this looked at? Did the pain go away? Hope you're well!
@@snakejuce actually pain has subsided 90% but every now and then I will feel a slight pain in the same area but pain level maybe a 0.5 when before it was probably like a 7 or 8 and would keep me from walking or doing anything.
@@KBradAdams Good stuff, glad to hear it's better. That definitely alleviated a lot.
Dr. Hesch, l came across your video on SI joint instability. I have been suffering with SI joint severe pain since September 2020. I had PT, Radiofrequency ablation, accupuncture, l seen chiropractors and these therapeutic sessions did have limited effects, but nothing long lasting .
I enjoy walking and due to this SI joint injury l can only walk for a half a block and than l.have to sit. I am interested in learning how often should l perform your exercises with leaning over a chair and holding my
affected leg/hip in an abducted position? I tried this method and was only able to hold it for 20 seconds before releasing due to pain and spasms. I believe this exercise may help with gaining stability, which may allow me the ability to walk again.
Rob unfortunately I do not know if it is appropriate for your specific pattern which would require hands on testing. Where do you live? Please see patient section of hesch institute website where you will find info on a distance consultation or finding certified practitioners or coming to Hesch Institute.
Thank you so much for this video. So important for healing and not irritating si joint pain
You are welcome! Please spread the word esp if you use social media such as FB support groups.
Can you provide the name of a Hesch trained PT in the Dallas TX area?
I'v been modifying everything for me 10+ years now. No living room furniture. Have to have tall chairs that lean back a little. I cannot get into a car, not alone ride in one 🥺
Thank you oldman
