I ordered a brand new Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and when it arrived at the dealership it had to go straight into the service department because it wouldn't pass state inspection bc of tail light module issues and ECM code faults. A week later they said it was ready for delivery and I passed. I'm happily (still) driving the same Chevrolet truck I was planning on trading in with zero issues and bulletproof reliability.

Imagine if his ECU or BCM connector poped out, car would die in the middle of road. There many important modules and dozens of connectors with many feets of wiring for all of them, that's if why we double or triple check them all the time. In modern car full of computers it is of highest importance.
well as i understood it, there was a loose connection in the SAM not to the SAM. and that can happen in about 1/10 000 of prodiced SAM's. There is nothing a car manufacturer can do about it as the get these things from other companys. ANd as he stated it worked fine in the beginning so there was nothing to detect in the checks at AMG. Its is really sad that it happened, but it can happen and there nearly nothing that you are the manufacturer can do about it.

You must be careful. I used to have a c class. Brand new less than 50 miles I got electrical issue and at 20000miles my car won't start. After fixed by Mercedes dealer. Few month down the road. I was rear ended by a truck. Totalled my car. Constant fixing is a Bad sign must be careful.

haha you guys failed to do some research, this is common with top of the line new mercedes, genrally they spend 3 months of a year in the shop getting fixed the first 3-5 years, until most problems has been solved, impossible to have the lasted tech working pefectly the 1st time it is in production. Tho after 3-5 years when they worked out all the kinks, they are highly realiable. And mostly it aint a problem, most people that buy this kind of car usally have 3-4 extra cars in the garage.
Lol I hate went people try to over exaggerate using kilometers. Those numbers don't impress me. That's like only 140,000 miles. It took you 28 years to hit 140k miles. It only took 8 years for my 2009 Toyota to hit 180,000 miles. Most 2009 cars would only have like 97k-102k miles on them. I have doubled that mileage as its all high way miles. That's like 30k miles a year worth of driving.

Yeah So called "German Quality". If Germans like to call thier cars quality, they sure ain't quaity if I had to fixem all the time. All the cars I worked on through out the years from BMWs, Audi's to GMs, Ford's, the Germans had frequent electrical repairs as I had to by new control modules and reprogram them and recalibrate sensors. Like I said these cars aren't for DIYers to attempt to work on them as you need a lot of dealer SST tools to work on them. Alot of times you need to be a dealer "Certified Service Technican" to gain access to these tools. A DIYers certainly doesn't have the ability to program Imobilizers as you need to be a a certified Locksmith or a qualified Service Technican and be a member of NASTF.
A lot of people say that ATM...Standard run of the mill ones yeah... never heard it for the AMG's though... this guy is just unlucky.. hopefully this new one is on point....

I like how the emergency trunk release is a button that doesn't work when you really need it. Can you imagine if this sort of problem occurred during a life-threatening situation? For a car this expensive, it should have redundancy for all electronic components that can prevent normal operations. I have been noticing many new cars appearing to be broken down on the side of the road, some of which don't even have hazard flashers. No power, no control. Now we start adding more computer controls for things like Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist, and you're trusting your brakes and steering to one of these computer modules that can fail spectacularly and has no fail-safe redundancy.
My 1976 Dodge Aspen, 1967 Pontiac Parisienne and 1972 Ford LTD have worked fine for decades without 'SAM' modules, all the lights work, nothing has ever drained the battery overnight, and the trunk can always be opened, from the outside, using a key. The only car I ever had electrical gremlins with was a 1993 Mercedes due to their "incredible" engineering achievement: BIODEGRADABLE WIRING INSULATION for the underhood wiring harnesses on 1991 - 1995 models, which Mercedes refused to accept responsibility for electrical fires, engines stalling without warning, rough idle, wild idle speed surging, random airbag deployment, sensors and computers being burnt out, etc. A company that cannot owe up to their mistakes and make it right for customers will never get my business again.
I hate to say "I told you so", but... I told you so! Now with that out of the way it's time to learn some hard lessons: 1. You're a car lover - I get that. I am too. Your enthusiasm for what you drive beams through in your videos and you take great care of your ride as any proud owner would. But when that happiness and fun gets drowned out by bitter frustration and disappointment you have to seriously ask yourself if this path you've chosen to go down is going to end well. Nobody needs (extra) stress in their lives - it's bad for your health (and marriage). 2. Problems (again) on your SECOND Mercedes. While you didn't get stranded this time I would be hesitant to get into the drivers seat KNOWING that you have been met with issues that essentially shouldn't be occurring, that have also now occurred multiple times. 3. It's a Mercedes. This is a brand that has spectacularly burned customers around the world with it's Wartburg engineering and Trabant quality control. Your good customer service experience shouldn't detract from that. When even the best mechanics tell people to avoid Mercedes like the plague you need to do your homework carefully before you sign your life away to one of their money-pit rolling turds. 4. Have you even looked at a different brand of vehicle??? There ARE other options out there that compare to a C63S that won't force you to sit in the service lounge every other week. If all you want are fun exhaust sounds a trip by Magnaflow's website will tick that box. 5. Please don't come back with another video on your channel in the future that "your baby" is now... broken... again... You really don't want to make an ass out of yourself in front of your viewers, especially when many are trying to help point you in the right direction... and see you happy.

Dude from work just got the exact same car. He only had it for a couple weeks when it stop goin over 25 mph. When he got it back sometime after that the lane assist function started acting up on him. A few days ago he took it in for a recall a day later they tell him the entire wiring harness had to be replace. For such a expensive car you would thing they would be build better.

You must be careful. I used to have a c class. Brand new less than 50 miles I got electrical issue and at 20000miles my car won't start. After fixed by Mercedes dealer. Few month down the road. I was rear ended by a truck. Totalled my car. Constant fixing is a Bad sign must be careful.

haha you guys failed to do some research, this is common with top of the line new mercedes, genrally they spend 3 months of a year in the shop getting fixed the first 3-5 years, until most problems has been solved, impossible to have the lasted tech working pefectly the 1st time it is in production.
Tho after 3-5 years when they worked out all the kinks, they are highly realiable.
And mostly it aint a problem, most people that buy this kind of car usally have 3-4 extra cars in the garage.

I hate German cars too as I'm also a Mobile Mechanic. I made stupid money fixing these money pits. I gave up working on them as they are getting more complex as you have to keep buying specialize tools to work on them with all the crazy sophisticated computers that they put in them. The more complexity the more shit breaks. The Mercedes Star dealer diagnostic tool cost over $25,000 as I'm not making this up. Yeah So called "German Quality". If Germans like to call thier cars quality, they sure ain't quaity if I had to fixem all the time. All the cars I worked on through out the years from BMWs, Audi's to GMs, Ford's, the Germans had frequent electrical repairs as I had to by new control modules and reprogram them and recalibrate sensors. Like I said these cars aren't for DIYers to attempt to work on them as you need a lot of dealer SST tools to work on them. Alot of times you need to be a dealer "Certified Service Technican" to gain access to these tools. A DIYers certainly doesn't have the ability to program Imobilizers as you need to be a a certified Locksmith or a qualified Service Technican and be a member of NASTF.

I like how the emergency trunk release is a button that doesn't work when you really need it. Can you imagine if this sort of problem occurred during a life-threatening situation? For a car this expensive, it should have redundancy for all electronic components that can prevent normal operations. I have been noticing many new cars appearing to be broken down on the side of the road, some of which don't even have hazard flashers. No power, no control. Now we start adding more computer controls for things like Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist, and you're trusting your brakes and steering to one of these computer modules that can fail spectacularly and has no fail-safe redundancy.
My 1976 Dodge Aspen, 1967 Pontiac Parisienne and 1972 Ford LTD have worked fine for decades without 'SAM' modules, all the lights work, nothing has ever drained the battery overnight, and the trunk can always be opened, from the outside, using a key.
The only car I ever had electrical gremlins with was a 1993 Mercedes due to their "incredible" engineering achievement: BIODEGRADABLE WIRING INSULATION for the underhood wiring harnesses on 1991 - 1995 models, which Mercedes refused to accept responsibility for electrical fires, engines stalling without warning, rough idle, wild idle speed surging, random airbag deployment, sensors and computers being burnt out, etc. A company that cannot owe up to their mistakes and make it right for customers will never get my business again.
I hate to say "I told you so", but... I told you so!
Now with that out of the way it's time to learn some hard lessons:
1. You're a car lover - I get that. I am too. Your enthusiasm for what you drive beams through in your videos and you take great care of your ride as any proud owner would. But when that happiness and fun gets drowned out by bitter frustration and disappointment you have to seriously ask yourself if this path you've chosen to go down is going to end well. Nobody needs (extra) stress in their lives - it's bad for your health (and marriage).
2. Problems (again) on your SECOND Mercedes. While you didn't get stranded this time I would be hesitant to get into the drivers seat KNOWING that you have been met with issues that essentially shouldn't be occurring, that have also now occurred multiple times.
3. It's a Mercedes. This is a brand that has spectacularly burned customers around the world with it's Wartburg engineering and Trabant quality control. Your good customer service experience shouldn't detract from that. When even the best mechanics tell people to avoid Mercedes like the plague you need to do your homework carefully before you sign your life away to one of their money-pit rolling turds.
4. Have you even looked at a different brand of vehicle??? There ARE other options out there that compare to a C63S that won't force you to sit in the service lounge every other week. If all you want are fun exhaust sounds a trip by Magnaflow's website will tick that box.
5. Please don't come back with another video on your channel in the future that "your baby" is now... broken... again... You really don't want to make an ass out of yourself in front of your viewers, especially when many are trying to help point you in the right direction... and see you happy.

I do not understand why you are having these issues. My AMG is absolutely amazing. I’ve never had a single issue in just over a year I’ve had it. I bought mine outright so I’ve been worried as I do not have and of the warranties besides wheel and tire.

Dude from work just got the exact same car. He only had it for a couple weeks when it stop goin over 25 mph. When he got it back sometime after that the lane assist function started acting up on him. A few days ago he took it in for a recall a day later they tell him the entire wiring harness had to be replace. For such a expensive car you would thing they would be build better.

My 2012 KiA soul plus is so fucking reliable i changed the brake pads, the windshield wipers and the tires. That's my expenses from 2012, 90,000 miles. That car has never let me down. Wish I had invested that 15 grands I put into that Audi A4 into some apple and Google stocks. Dude take that POS back and invest that 100gs into some real estate or stocks.
