I was able to find a genuine Hermes tie in a thrift store for $2, when in Australia it would retail for $325. Just goes to show that knowledge like this can save you hundreds of dollars.
Good ties can be had for cheap in thrift stores especially if they just sell them all for 3$ finding a hermes is rare but finding other great brands in good condition is not. It depends on the condition, a lot of good ties are spoiled by bad care
Great video. I’m new to your channel and I love your vibe. And, I can’t tell the difference in the two Balenciaga clothes and the *amzclothes* is close enough and it’s cute so that’s good enough for me.
Hey Raphael, Could You make a video or even better video series about home decoration and furniture. I'd like to achieve that classic and elegant home decor but I don't know what to look for and where to start.
too many steps, they need to cut corners, they make it cheap, the hermes label is much more expensive to produce. the actual tie itself the fabric and detail is nowhere near as close as well. Plus the stitching of the tie. Too many steps and the cost of the material is too high for the fakes too mess with. Its cheaper always cheaper.
I LOVE watching your videos, I have a son that I am trying to learn more about Men's fashion. I have noticed that your ties are crooked and the knot looks too small , WHY ? MRS. M
such a useful video. I've just bought one on eBay from a trusted seller that looks perfect, but I will be checking back on this when it arrives to make sure!
That's why it's best to buy ties from person by going into the store and looking at them yourself, it's hard and tricky buying things online cause we cant feel or see, you know
Is it ever common for an Hermès tie to have a patterned tip lining? The background of the tie is patterned and all the other hallmarks match up, but that one is throwing me
Depends on the shade of navy. If it's darker, I'd recommend black or navy buttons in horn. If it's a lighter shade, I'd recommend navy or a dark brown horn. The benefit of dark brown is that it makes it more natural to wear with brown shoes, at least in my opinion.
I went with matching blue buttons, that way black or brown shoes look equally good and I think it gives the suit a more modern, elegant look :)@@spaghettiking7312
My husband inherited a bunch of vintage designer ties. One is what you described as a scarf pattern silk hermes tie that has all the characteristics of being a real vintage hermes tie. How much would it be worth? I have no idea where to sell it etc.
An ultra in-depth video, well done. However, if it takes a video of this length and depth to discern a genuine Hermès tie, I will simply purchase some other brand. The same logic applies for Mont Blanc fountain pens, as counterfeit pens abound on eBay as well.
I have a beautiful Hermes necktie that from all I saw on your web page dates pre 70s. I am female so considering resale but not sure on valuation. Any help would be appreciated.
Any chance you can tell me if my Hermes shirt I thrifted is authentic? Came with tags and says made in Turkey and the size is letter not number. Any info?
Sick! Now I can make more convincing counterfeits 😈 I'm kidding I could never. I'm just here to see if I could spot these details in a Hermes tie one of these days if I come across

I just dont see why would I pay 70% more for a genuine products when the only difference is font used, hidden fold and so on. Nothing of that really matters to my overal look anyway. This, of course, when taking moral stand point out of the way.
everything you said is good until you said 7cm will go out of style in a few years. to you it is too slim. to me it's about right. and i do think 9cm is really wide and can works for those who know what they are doing or for those who doesn't know much about style
Who goes through the effort of faking such an expensive tie? Someone who is willing to spend such a large amount of money on a tie probably wears ties regularly and knows a thing or two about them. On the other hand, someone who only wears a tie every now and then and is a bit less knowledgeable will not buy such an expensive tie.
Every time I see Sven my day is saved

Please do more of these videos on how to spot fakes. This has been very helpful.
PhD on Hermes
Raphael, thanks for including centimeters (cm) in your video. Your videos are very informative and enjoyable to watch.

I had my heart set on a YSL Hobo but *amzrepe* has changed my opinion and I am now sure this is my next Cassandra purchase
I found a real Hermes tie at the flea market for a few bucks :-)

I wonder how many bankers were wearing special edition 2007 Wall Street Hermes ties on the day Lehman fell 😄
I am a teen but i feel this channel is amazing for my future thanks sven

Paul Monroe Thanks for sharing Paul.
Great content! Can you also make such a quality comparison / authenticity check for Gucci ties?
Great vid Raphael & in a class of your own 🎅🎄🎁
I'd like to see a video on zoot suits
Now this is a valuable video. This will help get quality.

Someone in china: "Noted. Improvements are on the way".
Fantastic video, as always.
Love your name good sir
MouRut ah, thank you.
@@callmeastaire5700 no problem good sir ;)
Dear Gentleman’s Gazette could you make a video about a quality scarf?
We already have. Please use the search function to find the video. Thank you! :)
Mr. Schneider, off-topic question:
Black buttons on a navy/light navy suit or matching buttons that blend in?
Depends on the shade of navy. If it's darker, I'd recommend black or navy buttons in horn. If it's a lighter shade, I'd recommend navy or a dark brown horn. The benefit of dark brown is that it makes it more natural to wear with brown shoes, at least in my opinion.

I shall certainly bear this video in mind the next time I buy a Hermés tie
excellent and detailed video. really appreciate the effort put into this.
Now I have to go inspect my ties . . .good info!
Excellent outfit in this one, especially the double monkstraps.
I faced with tie 145cm lenght. All other thing were ok. Was it original? It was 3,5 inches wide
Question. Is a Hopsack fabric inappropriate for a dinner jacket?
Heck yeah thanks for the info. I have 4 of their belts I'm looking to get one or 2 of their ties soon✌🏾🤙🏽

Just buy from the stores, not eBay.
Is there any way of finding out who designed which tie?
I have a beautiful Hermes necktie that from all I saw on your web page dates pre 70s.
I am female so considering resale but not sure on valuation. Any help would be appreciated.
Very well explained and very useful tips. Thank you.
A nice video about the best wintershoes would be a pleasure
Hermes never ever does discount.
Just buy from the official online store!!
Occasionally you can buy them used at a significant discount.
Thanks Sven, this really helps.
thank you sir, thanks to your video I was able to do a legit check on Hermes tie
My mum works at a charity shop and a customer came in with her husband's hermes tie so I got it for myself
Unfortunately I never saw Stone Island in one of your Videos.
Wäre schön ein Review zu dieser Marke von euch dazu zu bekommen
very helpful, thank you
How can I email you to ask questions?
Thank you very much for this.
Any chance you can tell me if my Hermes shirt I thrifted is authentic? Came with tags and says made in Turkey and the size is letter not number. Any info?
I’m pretty sure all Hermes products are made in france, but i could be wrong
What about Drakes ties? Are they faked as well?
Not to my knowledge
Can you send me the Harmēs-Paris' website.
I love details...
Sick! Now I can make more convincing counterfeits 😈 I'm kidding I could never. I'm just here to see if I could spot these details in a Hermes tie one of these days if I come across

good the tie I just picked up at second hand is probably real, I would have hated to find out I wasted my two bucks.
13:12 might be playing it fast and loose with the word "interestingly"
Good to know

Real Hermes have 6 wheel spokes on the back tag and 5 spokes on the printed label!

59"? That's 1 inch short if 5'! That's hella long.
Hermes is so 1990's. I'll take E. Marinella.
شكرا أنا اوريد اتدرب عندك هذا اميلي
You guys spend so much on these ties, and I genuinely never like the ties you wear.
there are clothing stuffz named hermes now?
i identify as an aerorig, and since i destroyed someone's missile pods, i feel offended.
They put a toaster in a tie? Must be fans of James Veitch or something...
The cuffs on your shirt are melting.
Your tie and square don't go. Js.
