Hey all, let me settle any issues anyone has right here. I didn't delete any comment about the original owner of one of the pictures I used as an example in this video, I'm not that kind of person, and there are plenty of videos on this channel to show that. All of the images used were straight pulled from google images and placed in a folder on my computer. As I explained in the video. I like to gather materials before I paint. Including painted models, lizard skin, basing materials, textures, etc. It's a great way to see the possibilities and expand your idea of colors for a model. In the last example I showed, which happens to be Fernando Noda's, whom I had not heard of before this, and was not aware that this picture was his work, I said that what I really liked about it was the contrast between the reds and blues. So as a reference for color that was what I used. I didn't copy the paint job, or the base, and I certainly didn't compare the final work to Fernando's. I hope this clears up any confusion and we can get back to doing the hobby we love! Fernando, if you want to chat I 'm down. Email me and we can set up a call!
You and I were up late last night Casey! Imagine my shock when I heard that you got out of bed at 4 AM PST to delete UA-cam comments while cackling like a crazed goober ;-)
Pretty common pricing strategy actually. The collection box is the real price point - GWS just pumps up the standalone so much that the box set seems like incredible value and anyone who actually buys the standalone is just icing on the cake for GWS. You see a lot in telecom packages too.
Nice work, always love a dinosaur riding a bigger dinosaur! The "over the top jungle base" you showed is one of mine for a dread saurian I converted, thanks for featuring it
Casey, please take the time to credit artists that you take inspiration from (especially if you show their hard work)! Your paint skills have really improved over time! This one came out excellent!!
Helloooooo comment section! Fernando Noda's dinosaur looks amazing, I can see why it ended up in an image folder for a seraphon mood board :-) Fernando has asked for people to be civil and chill. @@michaeldorn5330 I’ve talked to Fernando in private. UA-cam deleted comments. There is a spam filter. Casey isn’t around right now or he would have addressed this. Try giving people the benefit of the doubt.
I think the reason why GW sells the model for that price is because they can generate more sales from people. Because essentially buyers will look and see the absurd pricing, and subconsciously will be more tempted to buy the starter box.
Same gies for the start collecting box for fyreslayers, the standalone big fire dragon and the start collecting have almost the same price. Starting to see a pattern? Why offer a real discount on start collecting when you can simply overexagerate the cost of the non-bundled models 👹. Skaven are no different, the standalone bell cost almost as much as the start collecting
Awesome video, mine was painted like the panther chameleon in the middle of your pictures ^_^ the vertical stripes work so well. When working with different basing stuff like flock, briks and aquarium plants, try using green same wash over everything to tie it all together. It works really well

Thanks for sharing your painting process. I'm a third of my way into painting my One Page Rules Saurian Army (which looks way closer to the Total War II game than the offical GW models)
Not really, it does leave kind of tide marks, but it's more the spread of the oil over the surface, it disappears once the model is varnished. If you varnish beforehand though, it's really a non issue. I put it on all the time and don't varnish before or after and it generally looks great!
@@MortRotu I kitbashed a squad of Wargames Atlantic lizardmen with various GW and Victoria Miniatures weapons. The problem is they only have two body styles- not a lot of room for customizations.
Weird question, but what brand is that makeup remover/applicator thing? I got a pack of something like it, but they're made like cotton buds, and the fibres start sticking to the model.
Mine are from the dollar store, they are little plastic sticks with super soft foam on the end. I think they have them on Amazon too in bulk. I switched to the foam ones because that cotton really does stick to the model and I hate that.
Came here to say this. Literally just one tone and some purple wash. Not to mention the carnosaur was basically just airbrushed transitions and a wash. Honestly disappointed overall
I didn’t show much for him, but I did highlight the top scales and make the face pop nicely. There are some good glamour shots, but I didn’t want to make the video any longer than it was so the rider had to get the axe in the editing room.
@@nickromanthefencer why be dissapointed when the end product turns out so well? Miniature painting for commissions/selling isn't about how much effort you can put into something, but about streamlining the process to an end product that a buyer would like. If you can get great results out of some airbrush work, oil washes, and a little detail work, and make a considerable amount of money off of it, why not do that? after all doing so you can do more projects in a shorter time leading to more sales.
I dont want to rain on your parade too hard, but you can get an unbilt second hand start collecting seraphon for about 45-50€ (maybe 60ish USD). Hey. Great video as usually. I am in the market for an airbrush however money is tight. I’m pretty much sold on the H@S Ultra however can’t make my mind up on the compressor. Is it essential to get one with a separate air tank or can you get good results with a cheaper compressor? Thanks.
