      The haste to show the painting in a short time led to a messier application and the need to go back over to make corrections. Normally I would expect less aggressiveness.

    Interesting! So one of the strong characteristics (glazing over the (wraitbbone) base colour) is also one of its weak characteristics because you have to be dead accurate to get rid of the transition colour between them, in this case the green if you dont want that. Which means it functions best when the surfaces have clearly separated structures.

    From all the videos of Contrast paints I've seen it seems like they work really bad on symmetrical and artificial surfaces (anything technological, space marines, etc.), pooling up where they shouldn't and giving quick and very mediocre effects. But on organic, assymetrical, rugged surfaces like this magnificent Carnosaur model they really do shine! I guess they would also be really good for things like GW's Death World scenery. I'm interested to see more.

    • @WayoftheBrush
      @WayoftheBrush 5 років тому +1

      the applied wraithbone is not primer it is a "base" colour. as far as avoiding color blending, you have to apply the paint carefully at borders and such. But that applies in almost all cases in painting miniatures.

      All day. Think of this paint as a single drop of liquid. It wants to pool into recessed areas. As it dries it will tend to pull itself into the cracks staining what is left behind and concentrating in the deepest most irregular areas making it darker and more saturated. The key is to get 1 coat on entirely and quickly so it dries all at the same time
