      most spinning reels have a small triangle shaped tab on it to hold your line in place in storage or transport

      Make colored beads or glow in dark beads from Fimo clay from craft store . Make beads ,poke hole through them (wire,needle ) and bake for a few minutes until hardened. One packet makes a hundred or more beads .

    If your rod doesn’t have a hook holder , take a small zip tie and an O ring . Put O ring on zip tie and then attach to base of rod where you want it for hook holder . You can also use a paper clip instead of o ring .

    Whenever I put new line on a reel that already has line on it. I leave about 3ft of the old line on the spool. Then tie the new line to the old line. It's easier to tie, and you don't have to worry about the line being tight enough on the spool.

    • @WhereWeWild
      @WhereWeWild  3 місяці тому

      Nice 😊 Depending on the reel and if I’m throwing braid to leader or whatever I’ll do that in different ways. Like if I want braid on a spinning reel I’ll actually fill the spool up a 1/4 of the way with mono first so I don’t have to fill the entire spool with the braid which is more expensive 🤙🏽

    Good hacks. For that drop shot leader hack, I just got something off Tackle Warehouse, called the Drop Shot Jock, that attaches to the rod blank and holds the weight. I get so annoyed when that weight wraps around all my other rods.

    you should bake old fishing line at a really low temperature when you've unspoiled it so it turns into a bit of a disk, this is the best way to stop line ending up back in the oceans

    • @WhereWeWild
      @WhereWeWild  Рік тому

      That’s a cool idea 😊 Might stink up the house and oven and not be so good to breathe in though no? You do that? Maybe a quick crème brûlée style blow torching outside just to slightly melt it together would be better? 🤔

    keep your spools and I suggest either pool noodles or corks For Your Hooks and weights. when putting new line on your real my suggestion is fill the real up tie a swivel to the end of the line wrap a rope around a tree or a limb of a tree hook the swivel to that rope run out the entire school all over again and then rewind it you every single twist and bend removed from that line now not a problem it is as straight as it is ever going to get but I do like the idea of warming up the line before you put it on I'm just thinking that spool has a Paddle Wheel in it you're going to get twists in that line anyways because of the paddle will issue
