      True, it's what struck me immediately when I first heard the song, and then I looked online and found many felt the same. It's immensely profound.
      On a lighter note though, it paints a funny visual in my head of him walking down the street and men walking with their families are turning their heads and lowering their sunglasses in slow motion like an 80's music video.

      Mr_Tricky your comment falls apart the moment anybody with half a brain reads it. Don't be so lazy as to rely on complete drivel as the cornerstone to your narrative. Love is a human idea. Procreation is distinct from emotion. Ask any other animal. Biology dysfunctional? Do you know how much gay people have contributed to humanity? Next you'll be shouting to ship us all off to a death camp.

    • @mr_tricky6116
      @mr_tricky6116 8 років тому +1

      Love is simply a reproductive mechanism. Love, attachment, and desire are all chemical responses triggered by our compulsion to multiply. You choose a partner based on the perceived quality of their genetic material and their capabilities as a provider. What do you think makes people fall in love? Magic? It's science. Also, I'm offering an opposing view, not forcing people into death camps.

    • @fullup91
      @fullup91 8 років тому +31

      +Mr_Tricky You made a comment saying that the reason people are uncomfortable with homosexuality is because homosexual people do not understand themselves. And go on to say that we are biologically dysfunctional. Then go on to talk about love?! Please. Love is more than a reproductive process. As humans we exist, in part, beyond our biology. To call homosexuals dysfunctional is not only insensitive but also is unscientific because it concludes that all sex is only reproductive. Madness.

    "Hello friend. God, that's always been lame, hasn't it? Sorry I never came up with a better name for you. And again, I don't even have a name. Just a guy trying to play God without permission. This whole time, I thought changing the world was something you did. An act you perform, something you fought for. I don't know if that's true anymore. What if changing the world was just about being here, by showing up no matter how many times we get told we don't belong, by staying true even when we're shamed into being false, by believing in ourselves even when we're told we're too different. And if we all held on to that, if we refuse to budge and fall in line, if we stood our ground for long enough, just maybe... the world can't help but change around us. Even though we'll be gone, it's like Mr. Robot said. We'll always be a part of Elliot Alderson. And we'll be the best part, because we're the part that always showed up. We're the part that stayed. We're the part that changed him. And who wouldn't be proud of that?"

    As I was flipping through the channels, quite by chance, I came upon the start of his video and after hearing a few bars of it, I was completely hooked. It took me back to when that picture of me was taken, back in the mid 80's. I was struggling with keeping my sexuality under wraps, as they were still throwing us out of the military for being gay and we all also found ourselves wondering if tomorrow would be the day we launched our ICBM's at them or they at us. Also, there was a "gay cancer" that was just showing itself. Anyway, nice to see that the future is in capable hands. This song hit me like a ton of bricks and that is impressive.

      ***** What I got from this song and the album was PG confronting homophobia and with this track I feel it's delving into the stereotypical perspectives of gay people with lines like riddled with disease and flowers bloom at my feet and then PG confronting those stereotypes kind of making fun of them and agreeing saying that no family is safe around a gay person. Also I think there is some mention near the end of the song about gays enlisting in the military, casing the barracks for an ass to break a harness into the fold.

It all seems like ancient history for anyone born in the 80's. I am not sure about how I should feel about that but I will say that I am glad that the hell we went through then has given way to a much better attitude today. Hell, we can even get married in the military!! That must have put a hell of a downer on all those haters that were going around, ready to throw us out of the military. :)

      Morrissey Moz "Hadreas' second album, Put Your Back N 2 It, was released on February 20, 2012. The promotional video for the album, featured Hadreas and pornographic actor Arpad Miklos embracing each other wearing only underwear. Despite an absence of nudity, UA-cam deemed the clip 'not family-safe' and banned it; after widespread objection they eventually overturned their decision." Hence the chorus: "No family is safe, when I sashay"
