      True, it's what struck me immediately when I first heard the song, and then I looked online and found many felt the same. It's immensely profound.
      On a lighter note though, it paints a funny visual in my head of him walking down the street and men walking with their families are turning their heads and lowering their sunglasses in slow motion like an 80's music video.

      Mr_Tricky your comment falls apart the moment anybody with half a brain reads it. Don't be so lazy as to rely on complete drivel as the cornerstone to your narrative. Love is a human idea. Procreation is distinct from emotion. Ask any other animal. Biology dysfunctional? Do you know how much gay people have contributed to humanity? Next you'll be shouting to ship us all off to a death camp.

    • @mr_tricky6116
      @mr_tricky6116 9 років тому +1

      Love is simply a reproductive mechanism. Love, attachment, and desire are all chemical responses triggered by our compulsion to multiply. You choose a partner based on the perceived quality of their genetic material and their capabilities as a provider. What do you think makes people fall in love? Magic? It's science. Also, I'm offering an opposing view, not forcing people into death camps.

    • @fullup91
      @fullup91 9 років тому +32

      +Mr_Tricky You made a comment saying that the reason people are uncomfortable with homosexuality is because homosexual people do not understand themselves. And go on to say that we are biologically dysfunctional. Then go on to talk about love?! Please. Love is more than a reproductive process. As humans we exist, in part, beyond our biology. To call homosexuals dysfunctional is not only insensitive but also is unscientific because it concludes that all sex is only reproductive. Madness.

      @StabbyMcBlade He isn't. He can't die unless there's kryptonite involved, but it's not there 90% of the time. So how can he show bravery if he knows he'll make it out alive? Ones that can die, and are willing to fight in the face of danger, are the ones that considered brave. I'd say batman fits more into this example.

    As I was flipping through the channels, quite by chance, I came upon the start of his video and after hearing a few bars of it, I was completely hooked. It took me back to when that picture of me was taken, back in the mid 80's. I was struggling with keeping my sexuality under wraps, as they were still throwing us out of the military for being gay and we all also found ourselves wondering if tomorrow would be the day we launched our ICBM's at them or they at us. Also, there was a "gay cancer" that was just showing itself. Anyway, nice to see that the future is in capable hands. This song hit me like a ton of bricks and that is impressive.

      ***** What I got from this song and the album was PG confronting homophobia and with this track I feel it's delving into the stereotypical perspectives of gay people with lines like riddled with disease and flowers bloom at my feet and then PG confronting those stereotypes kind of making fun of them and agreeing saying that no family is safe around a gay person. Also I think there is some mention near the end of the song about gays enlisting in the military, casing the barracks for an ass to break a harness into the fold.

      Joe Casacca Spot on Joe. Sorry, I had been away and hadn't checked the replies, I am glad that helped you understand the song a bit better P.M. It all seems like ancient history for anyone born in the 80's. I am not sure about how I should feel about that but I will say that I am glad that the hell we went through then has given way to a much better attitude today. Hell, we can even get married in the military!! That must have put a hell of a downer on all those haters that were going around, ready to throw us out of the military. :)

    "Hello friend. God, that's always been lame, hasn't it? Sorry I never came up with a better name for you. And again, I don't even have a name. Just a guy trying to play God without permission. This whole time, I thought changing the world was something you did. An act you perform, something you fought for. I don't know if that's true anymore. What if changing the world was just about being here, by showing up no matter how many times we get told we don't belong, by staying true even when we're shamed into being false, by believing in ourselves even when we're told we're too different. And if we all held on to that, if we refuse to budge and fall in line, if we stood our ground for long enough, just maybe... the world can't help but change around us. Even though we'll be gone, it's like Mr. Robot said. We'll always be a part of Elliot Alderson. And we'll be the best part, because we're the part that always showed up. We're the part that stayed. We're the part that changed him. And who wouldn't be proud of that?"

      No One
      we’d understand if it was any other show, however this song is COMPLETE BECAUSE of its usage in Mr. Robot. Both the scenes used with this track are the most powerful scenes throughout the show. So appreciating this song without appreciating the ‘masterminds’ that eloquently tracked it would be an Injustice to taste overall. IMO, this song is catchy, but I definitely LOVE it 1000x more because of mr. robot. Don’t knock how people vibe and jam to noise man that’s lame.

    Don't you know you're queen
    Yet even flower bloom at my feet
    Don't you know you're queen
    Cracked, peeling
    Riddled with disease
    Don't you know me
    No family is safe
    When I sashay
    Don't you know you're queen
    Gleaning, wrapped in golden leaves
    Don't you know me
    Rank, ragged
    Skin sewn on sheets

    For an ass to break and harness into the fold

    Are you content with your life? Jason’s Doppelgänger from Dark Matter brought me to this place.
    What a hypnotic tune!
    I was going to look this song up but I did not have my cellphone at my side. I was going to do it later but forgot about it. Thank God that my girlfriend wanted to rewatch the last 3 episodes of Dark Matter because she fell asleep and I just kept watching Dark Matter spellbound till the end. Upon hearing the tune again at the end of episode 7 I was grateful to have another opportunity to look this song up. It’s directly added to my liked songs on Spotify.
    As the good Jason said: No life is perfect, it’s the little imperfections that give life another kind of perfection.
