Not that it's worth doing if you *just* want the armor, but if you see yourself visiting Antique Plateau for any reason, might as well save some cash and grab the armor during your visit.
I had noticed that that version what quite a bit nicer. Since elemental resistance is kind of really important that 30 makes it stand out a lot. Was really excited for the runic chest plate with new stats, but the negatives did not feel great for me after using it for a bit.
My go to armor is Master Kazite with the Master Oni mask, all with Assassin. +30% phys damage, +20% impact, -16% stamina cost, +20 Decay resist and +4 protection. Yes, there is -20% mana, but has not hampered my play. Love that set, but not all of the time. The Slayer set is a darn good set, as I just recently discovered thanks to Mr. SheenShot.
Worth mentioning that the enchants availible for the Tenebrous set also play perfectly into the rune mage build, giving additional lightning and decay damage, and a bunch of movement speed

I can't get enough mage in this game. It's just so much fun snapping your fingers and making enemies burst into flames, or set up magic trap and kamikaze run on them to finish blow them to the moon, something about it in my mind where some fella in some pretty rags decides to run up on you, a powerful beast (alas bit mangled by then) and snapping his fingers and life out of ya as he's just within reach of your mighty weapon...it's just perfection.

Totally agree. Just recently got into the Entomber set and it has a lot more going for it than I originally thought. As far as physical melee builds, I just don't make many. The brigands backpack is amazing for melee and heck ya the slayer set is insane. I prefer mage builds for the most part, so I havn't done a run with heavy weapons or any bonus to them. @@cryptictentacle3844 Thanks for share the knowledge. your second build is pretty much similiar to SheenShoot's Disk of Death build, isnt it? ua-cam.com/video/MGG81iVnlyY/v-deo.html Btw i'm looking for a simple yet effect build. The Primal Ritualist involve with alot of buff, and DoT damage, which is pretty complicated for me tho
For me personally best set is Ash Armor because of Cocoon enchantment. I don't have to worry about the weather conditions and it gives me in total 6 protection. Not to mention that this armor has NO penalties. When it come to the weapon, I use Brutal Knuckles with Crumbling Anger enchantment and I am really hard to defeat :)
Gold Lich is awesome. The boss fight was pretty epic too - dunno if they'll fix it for Definitive, but the arena is so large you can run away and de-aggro him, set a bunch of traps, and lure him thru. I think he's immune to bleed, but easy damage is easy damage when it comes to a boss! XD
Lol I think this still works but am not sure. You used to be able to agro the boss with one player and have a coop partner come in later. As long as that second player never attacked he/she never got agroed. So your buddy just did the fight and you revived him every time he would die.
Here's a few tips that might help with some of these armor sets 1. For easy legacy items, join the blue chamber or make a junk character to join them and get the cierzo storage key for easy access to the cierzo legacy chest. 2. the easiest way to get the parts for antique plate set + some quartz for enchanting recipes is to basically drive by rune trap the clock tower galvanic golem. Most golems are weak to ethereal. 3. There are 3 enchantments for each part of the tenebrous and runic armor that make them much better. Fully enchanted the Tenebrous armor gets a full 27 percent speed increase plus some lightning and decay damage bonus and cool down reduction. The runic armor gets the same, but since it has some negatives to movement speed and stamina the end result comes out to about + 13 percent movement speed. Which is still great for a heavy set of armor
@@SheenShotsany kind of speed boost is so useful that it gets hard to go without it sometimes. I think enchanted runic armor with the speed boost from the mercenary skill tree would be fairly good.(should be up to 23% speed at that point) Enchantments are where some of the armors really shine, but it can be quite a chore to get all of the ingredients
I've gotten so hype over the new edition I've gone through and watched so many videos. lol. I played a lot of different builds in the original game, but I never made a gun based character. That's what I'm going start my DE runs with.
For the Light Mender I went with Entomber and with shamanic resonance, which gives 90% lightning resistance 💛 Entomber set has 60 decay and 60 lightning resistances so might also be useful for that Green/Gold Lich double Arena fight (haven't done boss arenas yet though..)
I'm going full plain jane. I got the iron claymore with unsuspected strength and full plate set with warmaster on it. Going full physical with the monk, hunter and speedster skill trees. I get angry and level headed at the same time and then poke and prod and slam. It's fantastic.
I love the mana wall armor paired with the dreamers halberd! 30% more ethereal damage and when paired with cold boon and frost imbue (I think that's what it's called) it is a truly devastating build! Some of the halberd skills are super cool as well!!
My favourite at the moment for tanking is the crimson plate being a great 90 frost resist and with enchantment a good 11 protect I forget the rest of the stats but I know it has a movement speed and stam penalty but I don’t worry about those too much I also use brand and crimson shield going to get barrier and more protect on my shield and possibly more damage for the sword either raw or in elemental damages
With crimson set you can get serious defense and become almost invisible to physical attacks. Only thing to worry about is hot regions. Caldera is rough if you aren't in a cave.
Build cool down >>>>> Tenebrous Boots with cool down enchant White Arcane Robe or "Wolf Medic Armor with cool down enchant" and Scholar Circlet cool down enchant .plus Ivory Master's Staff cool down enchant.. 40% cool down without the drink that grants cool down.. very fast skills use... use some break trough with added defense and boom you killing sprea Demon,,, "sorry about spelling errors " ??
One of my favorite builds was using tenebrous head and legs with green copal armor (Spirit of Berg enchant) all paired with the Dreamer Halberd. Pretty balanced stats with damage buffs and move speed
Thanks alot for the showcase @SheenShots , was fun to watch and i myself loved the Antique set, didnt realise how good it was but then agian i never reached that area yet due to upcoming DE. I gotta admit i did like the Copal set you had on in the start, somehow it always reminds me of s character from League Of Legends called Jarvan 4th with his golden spear, has an awsome look to it. Too bad we can hunt dragons in the game else id go as a dragonslayer build/set 😂
An actual dragon fight in this game would be sick. Really the only thing missing from the fights. We do have the manticores, but sadly it just isn't the same.
@@SheenShots Yea so true, i think sometimes that manticore reminds me of a Chimera. Only time i fought one of thous was in Super Nintendo back in the days when Final Fantasy Mystic Quest was a thing 😊

I started playing a year ago and sort of dropped, due to work schedules. However I've picked it back up and having a hell of a time. Especially playing with a friend. I recently platinumed ER and though it is a great game, 1 day in outward I am just enjoying it much better. It has nothing to do with difficulty. Simply I love the crafting, sleeping, spells, missions an the world etc..just the co-op alone is top tier! Anyway excited for future content and thank you! Edit: Also Outward community is amazing too. Positive players and helpful! Also any other ways to support your content besides UA-cam? Unless this is your main source, I definitely wouldn't mind donating to help further your content is what I am saying.
The feeling of being a true adventurer is what makes Outward truly special. I mostly do UA-cam, so there is no other source at the moment. I really appreciate the support so thank you. I hope to start live streaming some Outward content very soon so be sure to look out for that.

Dancer Set is still the best. Basically Unlimited Stamina and the most stylish with tons of heat resist(heat is more annoying than cold, imo). Also, beating people while rocking the defensive ability of wet tissue is just extra points!
There are few people like you my friend. I don't find very many who want to sacrifice their defense. I love it to death and it has already been proven you can beat everything in the game quite easily with this set.
while I do quite like the stamina bonus from the dancer set, Kazite boots with assassin enchantment for +5 impact and physical damage is great, not terrible resistances for only -7% less stamina reduction. dancer for sure is great early-mid game before enchanting becomes an option
Nice list! My favorite tank armor is the quire set. Similar to blue sand, without the penalties. It's hard to get, but the stamina reduction it gives and resistance bonuses are so worth it and has low weight. If built around it can get every resistance to almost maximum, except for physical and impact. I always prioritize elemental defense for tanks, at least in Outward. Realy high physical defense is also not that important if you stun-lock enemies with a fast weapon. For this, I use Gep's blade, with wind infusion. Has 1.4 attack speed, lol, and AoE damage.
Squire set is super strong elementally speaking. Plus the stamina makes it an S tier set. As for AOE attacks, love them. I played around with virgin knuckles that had an Ice AOE and it was so much fun.
for melee builds (no magic) I like to use pathfinder with cocoon enchantment gives you a total of 10 protection and I think it was 34 heat and cold ressist. with the cabal hermit passive yor temerature never goes up or down no matter where you are.
Never having your temp change with a lot of protection is really nice to have. I know running even the runic chest plate hurts so much for stamina usage and hot weather defense.
Yes. In hindsight I realize that I only looked at enchants for the antique plate armor. I will have to make another one based around enchants. Oh well just more content to cover lol.
The set and build I'm currently using is full antique plate with economy enchantments one of three weapons Cerulean saber with rainbow hex Sunfall axe And Radiance wolf sword Tsar chakram Skill trees are hex mage philosopher and Primal ritualists with the totems When I'm fully buffed up I can still get 68% physical resist with plenty of protection and barrier and the amount of damage I can do is just plain stupid
All of those weapons are SO good lol. Glad to see you are messing with totems. They are very underused by players considering you could beat the entire game with just ghost drums.
That is a really good piece of armor. Oddly enough, the guy you get it from is one of the harder enemies to defeat if you go melee. His attacks shred right through your armor.
@@SheenShots yeah, i felt it, even though i mostly like it because it looks epic, what pieces would you combine it with, and why? afaik if you put a varnish on a weapon the phys dmg bonus doesnt convert or? so i guess it would be a somewhat physical dmg centric build im looking for, currently i wear it with legacy chested kazite head and boots, and im running rogue mixed with speedster and hexmage, but i joined blue chamber for infuse blood, feels nice to play overall, what do you think?
It is pretty good. The damage bonus can be used with the Brigands backpack to deal a lot of damage quickly. I think the resistances on it are nice as well, but no protection does hurt a bit. Probably for more of a quick type melee build where you attack fast and get out immediately after. Might go great with speedster since you can get some protection or extra speed and just destroy enemies before they can hit you back. Absolutely love the weather defense on it. Over all, one of the top 5 armor sets for melee builds. I would never use it with magic. Not really made for that.
This top five was more of a personal favorite. I will probably make a new one since this was before Definitive Edition. Blue sand is great. I don't like the negatives much but the defense is S tier.
In practice it does though, it's easy to test against ghosts when they block because it negates all physical. You can easily see how much the aoe is boosted then in comparison
I gotta say I agree with the whole list but number 1, how is the elite set better when the only positive It has over its master counterpart is a 7% difference in stamina costs? Unless it's a personal preference for looks but I thought the object of the video was to showcase armor Sets that had distinct advantages but instead is spreading technical misinformation just due to a personal preference that doesn't make sense? Unless I'm missing something which could definitely be the case
Elite dessert is extremely good and one of my favorites for sure. In fact the Master Desert Veil is undoubtedly better than the base version. However I do think the stamina cost is much better for the base set. Ultimately you may be correct, but at the time the stamina difference did feel important to me.
Yes, in fact the helmet and boots are really good. I never use the chestplate because something like copal armor has Spirit of Berg enchant which boots ethereal damage like crazy. But the orichalcum does have really nice protection and physical resistance.
That is the sunfall axe. Probably the best axe in the game and here is a video for everything you need to know on it. ua-cam.com/video/Ah0j-qPuPCQ/v-deo.html
I personally find it silly that the Tzar armor which is the most time consuming gearset to aquire is not even THAT good. Like its a good set, just not like these sets. Edit: like, dont get me wrong it's good, but it Only makes you resilient to physcial attacks mainly, you are still vulnerble to magic and some elements, and for such a hard set to get it just falls flat. I would personally rank Antique armor higher as it is more universal, every build can use it. Even a Pure mage can use it, unlike the gold lich set wheere warriors are exluded from using it.
In my opinion antique plate armor is the best set in the game. Throw on economy and it can be any type of mage while still holding up in melee combat. Tsar is great if used correctly, but it does feel very worthless compared to the work you need to put in. Plus we have chalcedony armor in Caldera now that is technically better with barrier. I have never been a fan really but I also hate being slow which is a major factor.
Yes... I have the character made lol. Sorry just been very busy and I like to make build videos pop so havn't had the time to make it. Definitely still making it. Just need to record the action and get the music going.
These are the top five that I have used. They offer a lot and usually at least a few pieces of them are sprinkled into my builds. Tsar and mana wall definitely beat these towards the end game, but only if you build with the armor sets.
For magic to suppose to be so strong it seems to take at least 4-6 hits to kill a simple mob.. honestly I tried a hex mage build and it was just a awful play through.. ranged and physical builds are what make this game..2-3 hits and there dead..
Hex is just a different thing altogether. You basically wait until as many elements are applied as possible and then snap. Early on its not amazing, but with good armor it can really delete stuff. Some find it boring though which I think is understandable.
Fuck no..... all these sets are shit... either go blue/red robes and hat and no mention to the peilgrim set with hella protection and extra pouch and makes u pretty much imune to climate
Ah but you forget about enchantments. Antique plate is the best set in the game because of economy. Pilgrim set while good has no elemental defense and no interesting enchantments. Tenebrous has amazing enchantments and then gold lich set is the best for mage in general. And with definitive edition the with arcane set is actually the best mage set in the game. Unfortunately the robes can't hold up to it anymore with the changes that were made.
you helped me out a bunch man..thank you..these vidz are nice. good job. were gonna battle in wonderland, and i'm beaten your ass.....lol or will eye? the magic world needs some new shit....concepts, new form of magic.....what can you think of?

Philosopher for charkrams to set of sky chime and ghost drums (any chakram with physical damage is great I use frozen) to help the totems damage
Worror monk or carbal herm tree or hex mage really up to you we just use them for passive skills anyway and torment doesn't need a breakthrough I use worrior monk for master of motion because discipline will be up all the time for chakrams and counter strike is awesome when you master it also don't need to worry about stamina
But the main gimmick of this build is the old legon gladiolus with war momento enchant and infuse blood on it hits fast 4 time to apply scorched and cursed making the fire and decay do more damage then torment to apply burning weakened and saped from totems, totems when hit now with chakrams from a distance will do holy blaze
And infuse blood does extreme poison and extreme bleeding (again 4 hits)
And where the slayer set shines is to let you use the cruelty perk with no down side
This builds has awesome defensive form primal ritualist protection and barrier weakened and sapped from torment and master of motion does good damage damage in every element and phisical physical can apply elemental vulnerability and pain (puncture) applys all hexes but chill but (can swap to ornate charkram enchanted with musing or the philosopher if you take hex mage to apply chill) and apply all the really good damage over time effects atherbomb, buring, holy blaze, poisoned bleeding extreme bleeding and extreme poison ive used this to kill every arena boss without alchemical experiment or exulted also has self healing and the charges on totems build super quick with chakrams has crazy high health mana and stamina 170 health 170 stamina 105 mana (that regenerates! 3 points at leyline peace maker and ancestors memory)
This build really does everything you need magic melee tank dot damge and run around can hit form range deals with groups and single target really well and with boons and water has 32 cold weather defence and 42 hot weather defence don't have to carry around pots or other cloths
No slow down or higher stamina or mana use and I really like having a full set of the same armor on looks bad ass and that's a huge plus in my book
@@cryptictentacle3844 Thanks for share the knowledge. your second build is pretty much similiar to SheenShoot's Disk of Death build, isnt it? ua-cam.com/video/MGG81iVnlyY/v-deo.html
Btw i'm looking for a simple yet effect build. The Primal Ritualist involve with alot of buff, and DoT damage, which is pretty complicated for me tho
The Gold Lich helmet would be a dealBreaker for me lol I'm not turning my Fantasy self into a gold bald man xD
Not one of the best looking helmets for sure lol. Looks very odd.
@@SheenShots duly noted! Gotta keep in mind - want this armor early next run!
Fantastic tips! Love the runic armor but do agree that its slows you down more than I would like it to.
I think I am running halberd since I never go with one of those. Probably spellblade as well.
For the Light Mender I went with Entomber and with shamanic resonance, which gives 90% lightning resistance 💛 Entomber set has 60 decay and 60 lightning resistances so might also be useful for that Green/Gold Lich double Arena fight (haven't done boss arenas yet though..)
Never tried the ancient plate armor I'll have to make it on my next play through. Great video as always
Thanks!
Halberds are my favorite. They have moonswipe which is insane and the range is really nice as well.
@@SheenShots exactly! So dam cool!!
Greem copal armor is underrated I feel. The resistance on that thing is crazy and copal is not that hard to get.
i have the same build except with runic sword and infuse mana for pure eth build. dmg is insane
@@SheenShots i fell like the squire set is the best set in the game i would love a vid about it.
Lets gooo!!! Thank you so much for your video you are awesome dude!!
Thanks! It was fun to make and I am really glad you enjoyed it!
Nice man I'm really glad this content came out 2 days ago. Definitely going to be turning on notifications for any of your videos.
@@SheenShots I feel ya, I just love the whole D&D adventure ya know. I play a variety of games form racing, sports, platform..you get the idea. I've been gaming since 93' and feel like I've seen it all when it come to certain genres. Outward is one of many social games in its genre for sure!
Also if ever have the time and feel interested, here's a short list of RPG games I'm anticipating within the next 1 1/2 -2 years I hope, if you DO feel like checking them out and have the time give me some feedback on what you think..(I've sure you heard of a few):

@@doubtfuldrawing Thanks! I like checking out new games. Nice to be given a few good options to look into for the future!
I'm currently using:
-Antique Plate Sallet
-Manawall Armor
-Manawall Boots
-Runes + Light Mender's Lexicon
-Chalcedony Backpack OR Brigand's Backpack
It's pretty good.
The insane speed and ethereal damage you have is crazy. I can only imagine how fast your character goes on a regular basis lol.
I played around with virgin knuckles that had an Ice AOE and it was so much fun.
master merchant set is missing in my opinion (changing the hat for perlave mask is basically 30% faster than anything else xD)
Nice list, altought :D
That and the shadow kazite set. Can't fit them all unfortunately lol, but both of those are definitely up there.
Mostly based for magic users maybe do a second video for melee builds
I heard blue sand is a great starting set of armor but holy shit it looks expensive to get before winter
I just got it for the switch 🎉
Same!
for melee builds (no magic) I like to use pathfinder with cocoon enchantment gives you a total of 10 protection and I think it was 34 heat and cold ressist. with the cabal hermit passive yor temerature never goes up or down no matter where you are.
Never having your temp change with a lot of protection is really nice to have. I know running even the runic chest plate hurts so much for stamina usage and hot weather defense.
sheen I know you've moved on but just love your content. my son and I watch your videos and are playing split screen
You should probably do an other one while taking into account the enchantments armors can bear, because it might change your list a little ;)
Yes. In hindsight I realize that I only looked at enchants for the antique plate armor. I will have to make another one based around enchants. Oh well just more content to cover lol.
The set and build I'm currently using is full antique plate with economy enchantments one of three weapons Cerulean saber with rainbow hex
Sunfall axe
And Radiance wolf sword
Tsar chakram
Skill trees are hex mage philosopher and Primal ritualists with the totems
When I'm fully buffed up I can still get 68% physical resist with plenty of protection and barrier and the amount of damage I can do is just plain stupid
All of those weapons are SO good lol. Glad to see you are messing with totems. They are very underused by players considering you could beat the entire game with just ghost drums.
i like the pearlescent chest piece a lot
What are your thoughts on slayer's set?
It is pretty good. The damage bonus can be used with the Brigands backpack to deal a lot of damage quickly. I think the resistances on it are nice as well, but no protection does hurt a bit. Probably for more of a quick type melee build where you attack fast and get out immediately after. Might go great with speedster since you can get some protection or extra speed and just destroy enemies before they can hit you back. Absolutely love the weather defense on it. Over all, one of the top 5 armor sets for melee builds. I would never use it with magic. Not really made for that.
whats up with blue sand set? with 100% to EVERY elemental (with buffs).
This top five was more of a personal favorite. I will probably make a new one since this was before Definitive Edition. Blue sand is great. I don't like the negatives much but the defense is S tier.
Yo I got a new mage armor now thx man
You bet!
Bro has my subscribe. I wnna be great and help others :)
Does anyone know the name of the sheild he's using with the antique armor set
Entomber set or blue sand set instead of underwhelming Elite desert set and top 5 is more objective.
On the Antique Armor set, does the bonus damage affect the damage of the Geps Blade blasts?
I believe it does. The AOE attack itself does 25 ethereal damage so it should stack, but I have not found anywhere that specifically says that.
In practice it does though, it's easy to test against ghosts when they block because it negates all physical. You can easily see how much the aoe is boosted then in comparison
I need a suggestion on a good end game boss fighting armor cause the Katsugi just drains my stamina...im melee build..
Go with the elite desert armor or master kazite. Both are pretty good in my opinion.
I have the palladium armor set
Is the Orichalcum-Set with its unique enchantments worth it as a heavy armor?
Yes, in fact the helmet and boots are really good. I never use the chestplate because something like copal armor has Spirit of Berg enchant which boots ethereal damage like crazy. But the orichalcum does have really nice protection and physical resistance.
Quick question... Am i the only one that spend Time farming blue sand to make the armor? Also didnt play in a while So i dont remember what it does
whats the name of the axe you are using in atique plate set?
That is the sunfall axe. Probably the best axe in the game and here is a video for everything you need to know on it.
ua-cam.com/video/Ah0j-qPuPCQ/v-deo.html
Does anyone know the magic he is using while wearing the gold lich armor set?
That would be hex magic from the hex skill tree trainer in Harmattan. it is extremely powerful with good range.
10:20 what is that instant fire spell not needing a sigil?
I believe its from the spellblade skill tree, the one that needs an infused weapon to work.
Spellblade discharge it shoots your current applied element
Every going to do that corruption build?
Yes... I have the character made lol. Sorry just been very busy and I like to make build videos pop so havn't had the time to make it. Definitely still making it. Just need to record the action and get the music going.
Personally I think the source it is a big let down compared to all the work that goes into getting it
So is the horror set bad?
Horror set is not bad. Its problem is that it makes you weak to lightning. But when going for high decay damage its great.
Where is my manawall set 😂😅
gold lich head had such a good stats and such terrible appearence...
I always thought it was funny because the jade lich helm looks amazing but has meh stats. Gold lich just looks creepy lol
5 best end game armor?
These are the top five that I have used. They offer a lot and usually at least a few pieces of them are sprinkled into my builds. Tsar and mana wall definitely beat these towards the end game, but only if you build with the armor sets.
i dropped my croisant, idc
Rune builds are good for base game. They're dog water garbo once you get to three brothers.
