    Another absolutely stunning collection of photography. I especially like the liquor world shot, thought the exposure and aspect ratio was amazing on that and the way your framed ‘liquor world’ in the shot was simply undeniable

      Appreciate that! I try! That's always the hardest part and the most time consuming. I think it can make all the difference when the track brings it all together.

    Amazing shots! Do you almost exclusively use the Glimmerglass for shots or like to take it off from time to time?

    • @crabicurious
      @crabicurious  Рік тому +2

      I find myself leaving it on. Since I’ve bought it I’ve only taken it off a few times to shoot with the 50mm adapter but that’s really it.

      @@crabicurious awesome! Thanks for the info, was thinking of getting the GG1 for morning shots and BPM 1/4 for night ones, can't really go wrong with either.

    love the vids. Have you ever tried the 1/2 vs the 1? On the fence for a project I am starting but feel like a 3/4 would be what I would want and Tiff only goes 1/2 to 1. Your thoughts appreciated. If matters to inform, using on Fuji x trans 4 sens.

      @crabicurious  Рік тому +1

      It’s a good question but I’ve only ever used this one. I did try both cinebloom 10% and 20%. And found the 20% to be WAY too much and even the 10% was a bit much for me. Sorry I can’t be more useful on the various glimmerglasses.

    Wonderful! What camera and lens you used for the first 7 seconds? Any filters?

    • @crabicurious
      @crabicurious  Рік тому

      Those were all the Sony ZV-1, no filters, but some color grading with FilmConvert Nitrate (which has a ZV-1 Profile)

  • @darrencoates

    Lovely images. Can you use the original lens caps with the Glimmerglass filter? If not, what, if anything are you using instead?

    • @crabicurious
      @crabicurious  Рік тому

      Thank you! You can not… to use any filter you need an adapter (I think I link one in the description) but then the original cap does not fit anymore. I don’t use any lens cap. I used to use a lens hood for just a little extra protection. But I’m over 3 years I’ve actually never bumped it on anything and I tell myself if that ever does happen I’m just hurting a replaceable filter.

    • @darrencoates
      @darrencoates Рік тому

      @@crabicurious ah right. I currently use a cheap (hoage I think) adapter with a K&f black mist filter and the cap fits fine. Maybe the glimmer glass is significantly bigger?!

    Nice work! What are the settings (Shutter, aperture, ISO etc) at night for photos and videos on the X100V using glimmerglass?

    • @crabicurious
      @crabicurious  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! Almost always f2.0 at night. I flipped through all my night photos in the video and a lot at 1/60 ISO 1600 (because there are so many artificial lights). The indoor restaurant shots are really the only times I pushed the envelope going to ISO 6400 or 8000 and slower shutter speeds.

    the textures are purely from the glimmerglass or you have some grain added in your presets settings? anyways, love the shots and the more fuji videos i watch, the more i’m in love with the cameras

    • @crabicurious
      @crabicurious  Рік тому +1

      The textures (added contrast) and grain are from the film recipes I'm using. The Glimmerglass gives the halation around bright spots and also gives more pleasing highlight rolloff. I love the combination of the two together! Yeah the camera is so fun to use.

    • @crabicurious

    Have you faced any issues with the JJC lens hood? Does it block what you see in the OVF

    • @crabicurious
      @crabicurious  Рік тому +1

      Not really. I can see it in the OVF a bit but not in a distracting way. I used it for 3 years consistently and never had an issue. Lately though, I've just used the conversion thread filter (which lets you use filters) without the actual hood just for a lower profile, more pocketable setup.
