Looks like a nice set up. Here we have a 2 bedroom apartment setup but we have four people. Two people per bedroom, one bathroom, living room and then this counter area that's like our ghetto kitchen with a microwave and fridge.
GamingVlogNetwork Thanks! That sounds nice, you're lucky that you guys get to have your own bathroom and living room! We have a communal restroom and lounge.

+Mehak Chahal That does look good! But it's also important to have leadership roles in those clubs and to be consistent in volunteering. Your personal statements on the application are also important determining factors as well!
What extracurriculars did you do in high school and how well did you do on your SAT?
Did you guys have ladders attached to the bunks? Do the top bunks in unit 1 usually have high ceilings? I'm trying to decide if i should shoot for a top or bottom lol
zahtii Yes, ladders come with the bunks, but we chose to use the sides to climb up because the ladders took up way too much space. The ceilings in the dorms are pretty high, so people in the top bunk don't hit their heads or anything. I enjoyed having the top bunk!
What's your opinion on choosing a desk? Is it worth having the extra cork board space, or is the natural light by the window better? Thanks!!
Amy I prefer natural lighting, but I usually do my work at night so I don't really take advantage of it. I definitely enjoy the view, though! The desks under the bunk bed have a lot more space so if you need the room, you should pick one of those!

Cute room! I'm going here next year and I'm so excited! One question: do you think that the ~$2000 savings from getting a triple rather than a double is worth being a bit (maybe a lot?) more cramped? And would you recommend unit 1 over the others?
Ciana Jacobson Yes, I think it's definitely worth it! A triple is not as cramped of a room as most people think. I highly recommend Unit 1 over the others, it's closer to campus and has updated features.

I know this was posted a year ago, but I thought I would give it a shot with a comment. I got into Berkeley for the coming fall, but my biggest anxiety stems from bathrooms? What are they like? Also do you change in the bathroom or in your room?
Racha Mashups I lived on an all girls floor at the time so the bathroom situation wasn't uncomfortable at all! I would usually change in my room because I was comfortable with my roommates. However, I have stayed on a co-ed floor before and found it to be kind of awkward to use the restroom in the beginning, but once you become closer with the people living on your floor, it's like you're at home!
I really like that particular file/paper organizer you have on your desk. Where can I get it?

I know it's two years ago, but I was just accepted to unit 1 triple :) How convenient is living in the unit 1? I heard it's a bit of a walk to the bigger gym. Also, is living near the People's Park something I should be concerned about? was there enough storage in general (especially for clothes)?
I really enjoyed living in Unit 1! It's the nicest unit and the closest one to campus! It is a longer walk to the gym, but not by much at all. Living in Unit 1, you will hardly walk by People's Park, Unit 2 is much closer to that area. There was enough storage and I had quite a lot of stuff!

thanks for the vid! did you get random roommates or request them? I'm thinking of using the berkeley roommate search facebook group to find someone who seems compatible, but maybe random is better? also, why did you go with a triple?
+Michelle Fan I requested one of my roommates and my other roommate was randomly selected! I didn't choose a triple, rooms are randomly selected for students based on availability! I applied for a double, but they offered me a triple. Chances are you won't get what you ask for.

It was provided! :) There are two small dressers, one in each closet, and one big dresser!

Yes!
Do you know if college bunk beds in general can be separated into 3 separate beds?
They can be separated, but there is absolutely no room in the dorms for three separate beds. :(
Do all the dorm rooms/units have the Cork Boards on the walls?

Yes, the dorms in the units come with trash/recycling bins!
I notice you didn't get a microwave/fridge, do you recommend one?
We didn't feel like we would need one our freshman year since we had meal plans and would often eat outside of the dorms. They are helpful, though, if you plan on keeping leftovers or stocking up on snacks or drinks that need to be refrigerated.

+gamer242mooo Yes, there are! There are dorms that face the bay on the highest floors of the Units.
Do all unit 1 dorms have a five drawer dresser bc I was watching another video and in doubles, I dont think i saw a five drawer dresser?
vietsmiley1 No, only the triples have the 5-drawer dresser!

vietsmiley1 Yes, they do! There are also drawers underneath one of the bunk beds so you'll have those for storage, too!

***** In order to fit desks for three people, there are 2 top bunks and 1 bottom bunk in all triples.

You get to choose which bed you want! It's a first come, first serve sort of thing with your roommate(s)!
Hi I was wondering what you were majoring in? I saw that you took an environmental design class and I was wondering if you were majoring in environmental science because that’s what I plan on majoring in and I would love some info on the program!
I'm majoring in Sustainable Environmental Design and minoring in City & Regional Planning, which are both in the College of Environmental Design here at UC Berkeley! I will gladly answer any questions you have about the program!
JKBeauty08 thank you so much! So I know UC Berkeley is known for being very competitive and I was wondering whether you would consider the college of env. Design to be a competitive program. Do you do a lot of field work in the program? Thanks again :)
I wouldn't necessarily consider the College of Environmental Design to be a competitive program. Haas, the school of business is way more competitive! I do a lot of group work and research-based projects in the program rather than field work. You'll have to look elsewhere (ie. internships, research opportunities, study abroad programs) to get more experience in the field!

For that triple room, there are only two closets? and only one big dresser? Since there are three of you how did you guys agree to share that way?
Esther Choe Yes, only two closets and one dresser! We split them based on a first come, first serve basis when wee were moving in, but we also agreed to share any extra space between the three of us.

Katie Chan Sadly, no! It's way too intense for me, but I do run/work out to stay in shape. :)

What's the average SAT score does everyone have there?
+Mehak Chahal 2055! But your SAT score does not solely determine your acceptance. I have friends who scored 1500-1600 on the SAT and they still got in to UC Berkeley. It's about being involved in many extracurriculars and displaying leadership skills all while maintaining a high GPA.

+Vusal Mammadov Well, I'm only a sophomore right now and have yet to complete my degree here at Berkeley. But with good connections, adequate leadership skills, and a variety of job experiences throughout my high school and college careers, I'm sure it won't be too difficult for me to establish a successful career path after graduating from Cal.
