A rotary tool. Dremel is 1 of the more expensive brands of rotary tools, but you can get a 25$ one from Walmart if you don't plan on using it often. If you are going to use it often & for bigger projects, I recommend buying Dremel brand, as the cheaper ones DO NOT last long!
When I use whole poles as a hanging, I don't treat it in any way. Node -to- node won't rot (lump -to- lump lol), but any extra length that doesn't have a node at the end of it- that part will rot
