I made this with a little modification such as underground roads from the main road that lead people directly into the center of the city. The city works well cuz of all the 3 way intersections but I'm more of a grid based player tryin to get as many sims as possible. There's lots of gaps in this sort of layout that just bugs me but it's great for people that don't mind that stuff.
Thanks Zhatt, these videos are pretty cool (in these, I include the road tutorial you did :)). It's kinda like training town at the beginning of SC, but you actually learn useful stuff!
not yet .. we are working on some more ideas but those center corners get us due to angles and engine.. so from a visual stand point.. blame the engine.. functionally they work well

we have tried but corners are to tight to be really practical in the normal sense. Depends on the packing you want and density.. we figure octa is about 90% effective use of space where our tiles layout is about 95%
we have tiles version we have and a few others we are working on .. tiles we were able to get 750k population actually.. this one 360 if done right easy
Great! Thanks a lot - And the little tid-bit about parks; I never noticed that simple option after all this time :) I know about M and N to raise lower bridge height - How about option to deforest Faster? And then anything else someone could reference that I might wish I knew also?
quick question.... any idea why some of my cities will recycle and pick up garbage for " 24 " hours, and some im done before 2pm ? Love the vids, keep em coming
I think this is because your trucks aren't dealing with much traffic and are therefore finishing quite quickly. So this should be a positive thing. Don't quote me on that though, but my friend said the same thing.

EA really messes up this game, tobad, Cities XL is better imo, but its do have that performance issue.... what I like about this game though is the expansion of buildings. But I enjoy SC4 and Cities XL much more

Is there a way to make the octagons look more organic and curvy while still maintaining the traffic Ys and density measurements?
