You know what’s interesting. Coach is definitely a luxury brand to most people but I knew a few people who would laugh when they saw a Coach, Micheal Kors, or Kate Spade bag. One of them went bankrupt and had to sell all their expensive i.e Chanel, Louis Vuitton bags. My point is to buy what makes you happy and dont care too much about name brands and logos. They give too much energy on bashing ppl for not affording higher end brands, and I don't get that. It's probably feeding their egos to feel superior for having more expensive brands. Sucks to be that person.

Loved the video. Coach is definitely growing on me. I used to be into high end designers, but it has just become ridiculous with their prices. Finding coach leather to be outstanding.
I’ve bought two coach bags these past two years and they’re creating styles for younger demographics! I love the florals and girlish styles they’re putting out. I didn’t know I could get the tag monogrammed!
Very informative and well presented. I thought I already knew a lot about Coach but I really learned a lot. Love what Coach is producing at the moment.

Agreed. I love their designs and quality. It just feels elevated. I also have some scarves, glasses, sunglasses, etc. I just always gravitate to coach or Chanel. I love how informative your video was! I never new the big difference with the 1941 and New York styles. I loved learning about the different leathers!
Great video! I live in a part of Europe where Coach stores are hard to come by and the official website doesn't ship to so half the time I'm online hunting for the best pieces. The struggle is real 😂
I started loving coach for over a year All my stuff is from the outlet (white court backpack and wallet, kaki mid trench coat, black cross over bag and most recently got a red belt and scarf that I am waiting for). So far everything is holding well and the quality looks great. Thanks for letting me know about the difference between the outlet and store...I never knew. I will be going to the store and building a sale person relationship :).
I had purchased from other high-end luxury designer brands. Coach respects and takes care of their customers. Makes you feel at home. I love how Coach is really stepping up their game with the selection of bags and accessories. Their packaging is so top-notch. I love how they care so much for the items when shipped. It makes it extra special when you are unboxing. Definitely going to be doing more purchasing with Coach in the future. I did purchase a tote bag from Coach this summer and I did end up getting in the cream tote insert. BEST decision ever. I love it! ❤️❤️❤️
Back in the day, especially the late 70s into the 90s, Coach was for the working, corporate woman. The quality was high and the price was right. Good video. It also had lifetime warranty.

As a guy I almost prefer outlet because to me it’s the same, you get the comparison value for a great deal, and limited time offers for only a day or so. Limited colors, colorways. Unique men’s bags.
I have a coach bag I have had for about 11 years. I put a pen in it and sadly it bled all over the silk lining but I washed it out and never put pens in my purses anymore
Thank you so much for sharing this useful info, your Coach bags are so beautiful!! I completely got what you meant when you said Coach seemed like an older woman brand prior to a few years ago, and I agree that for the past few years it has felt much younger and fresher. Even though they returned to some vintage designs they have done it in a youthful way, and the vintage inspired bags are my favorites! It feels like once you buy your first Coach bag it's very hard to stop wanting more. My first was the Cassie and now my Coach wishlist seems endless haha (the Riley Top Handle 22 is def on there). Great video!
thank you so much!! and yes once you start, there really is no finish!! thanks for watching and i can't wait for you to make your own coach collection!! Happy shopping!! :))
Ooooh, watching this just now and there has been a change to the 1941 distinction? The Coach Revel in signature coated canvas is part of 1941 collection :)
I absolutely love coach and have many bags that I have collected for years. It's so cool that you worked there. Thanks for all your knowledge and this great video.
Love your video! I’m friends with a SA in the New York Coach store love getting early access it items. She helped me pick out my wedding present when my husband and I went to New York before our wedding.
I have such a love for these bags, which I mainly purchase secondhand. I bought one in store once at an airport to commemorate an important trip, but I usually shop my local consignment shop.
The old logo you mention was in outlet about 5-7 years ago. The cursive script. That is an outlet version of the old Madison Juliane. Funny I remember like 15 years ago retail was all fabric!
hahah yea!!! it's crazy how fashion is always evolving and sometimes even cyclical. I only got to know Coach these recent years, excited to see what they'll do in the next decade :))
Don't know why I'm shocked the outlet bags are different than retail. I wanted to buy a cheaper one at the outlet for years bc I'm not dropping $200-$400s for a purse but just got my 1st back on sale at Macy's.
A distinguishing factor for any resale buyers of NWT Coach items, if the tag has a “comparable” price it was purchased from an outlet. Btw this is consistent for outlet merch in general. A quick google of the bag name or image will also give more info to determine if it was an outlet bag. I do feel like there are many resellers out there charging too much for outlet bags that never sold for anywhere near their comparable price. I see them in my outlet too in line with many bags. I do wish that Coach would mark the outlet bags as outlet lime JCrew or Banana does. Nothing wrong with outlet merch but there is something wrong with paying too much for it. Loved the breakdown of the leather types and I love my Napa Art Deco pouch too, it’s so beautiful. That Riley ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ !
omg you're absolutely right, it's ridiculous that some people get away with selling an outlet bag at retail price, people should definitely always confirm online before buying from a reseller, great advice!! And thank you so much I'm glad you enjoyed the information!!
Great video. I am watching for the second time when you compare the three leathers. I just bought a Coach Reserve Wristlet on the outlet website (hasn’t been delivered yet) which I am so excited for. I had no clue that the outlet and retail were different. But it seems that Reserve is from Retail so I am so excited to see the difference in person. Anytime I had previously purchased a coach bag it was at the outlets on the way to Vegas from Cali.
I love your voice! Thanks for sharing your lovely HIDUPZ bag / wardrobe collection :) I actually love how you store your collection and definitely an inspiration for me in my future home
Luckily enough, this year Coach retail sent all kinds of styles to the outlet. I was happy to get my hands on the Courier Carryall & the Coach Dreamer Shoulder Bag. Almost had my hands on the Cashin Carry Tote but sadly, I knew that was gonna sell out first. But at least I was lucky enough to have one from the retail site. I fell in love glovetanned leather! But also, I noticed their Coach Originals collection is no longer using the 1941 hangtag. Yet they’re being made with glovetanned leather???
yea so many retail styles were made available in the outlets it was crazy!!! and good notice on the hangtags!! It's because the coach originals are its own "collection/category" so they have their own unique hangtag. The mini duffle has the 1941 hangtag but i think the rest all have the originals hangtag. :))
@@IvyWxng Hi Ivy, thank you for the video. Do you think the same will happen this year? (Retails styles get sent to Outlet?) I've got my eyes on two really pretty bags but I'm trying to get them at a reasonable price according to my budget. Do you have any advice on what to do? I really don't want to miss on getting those bags but at the same time, I can't buy them at full price. You can only earn so much nowadays lol.
@@Cleopatrah7 hi!! great question!! so honestly (in my opinion) the reason they sent all those bags to retail was because of the pandemic, and because their sales got hit too. So they need to try to make up the sales somewhere!! however, the styles and bags they sent over are abnormal for the company, like they generally would rather send it back to the hq than to send it to the outlet (usually3-5% goes to outlet). so i guess my answer is...it will depend on sales. If sales pick up, they have no reason to send so many bags to outlet, but if they don't, then you might be able to get some good steals at the outlets!! unfortunately we don't how they will be impacted yet this year. Hope this helps!! goodluck :))
@@IvyWxng aside from outlets, do you have any advice on how to get good deals or when to look for them? Like which month? Like I said I'm looking to buy 2 expensive retail bags. One is a tabby with bead chain and the other is a beat leather bag. Any advice is appreciated!! Thank you Ivy:)
@@Cleopatrah7 u can take a peak at this video ua-cam.com/video/gVh7P8yxdeY/v-deo.html for more info! but generally id say either during that time, or between june to august!! goodluck!! :))
Wow very interesting info. Have been loving Coach recently and this video has the best info on everything. Now I know the what exactly I can spend 💵 on.
Thankyou so much ivy i got the knowledge about coach actually I just received news today that I was accepted by the coach as a sales associate in coach Indonesia.. thankyou for your knowledge
Thank you for this vid! I was so surprised when you said you're turning 21, you're very mature! Also, question, Can you monogram even if your bag is a coach outlet product?
Thank you for making this video! It’s so informative - I could listen to you talk about bags all day! I’m actually looking into getting a backpack from Coach and the one that caught my eye is from the outlet and it’s apart of the pride collection (it’s the one with the rainbow horse and coach!) anyway, what do people think of the coach outlet store? Is it tacky? Is it worth the price?
Hey!! thank you so much for saying so!! :)) and that's really cute!! I personally always recommend shopping at Retail only because i genuinely believe in the quality, but I wouldn't' consider outlet "tacky" either. I know MANY people, including a few of my old clients who shopped both at outlet and in retail and it makes sense!! The prices are A LOT LOWER at outlets!! So to be honest, if you found something that you really like, doesn't matter from where, I say go for it and buy it!!! :)
I buy from both outlet and retail. Outlet isnt tacky at all! I find some really nice bags from outlet all the time. I think its more about the overall style that you like that really matters.
So I started getting coach when I was a senior in high school that’s over 15 years ago I like the quality of coach there bags last a along time, they take care of there customers. I still purchase coach pieces I just got a 31 rouge and I found on the coach outlet is the rowen satchel bag charm
Great vid. Personally it doesn’t matter to me if it’s Coach boutique or outlet (the latter is even better actually, I like a good deal) as long it fits the criteria of what I’m looking for. I prefer pebbled leather and something not too structured, as I don’t like to be too precious about scuffing and it fits my style more. I bought a Harley hobo from an outlet store years ago and the quality is fantastic. In comparison to a more recent bag I bought from Coach outlet online- the hardware feels heavier and the zip runs smoother on my older bag. I find the outlet items a bit different and interesting. I was after a bucket-type bag but didn’t like the narrow crossbody straps from the boutique bags, but found the Val duffle from outlet with a wider strap which is more comfortable to carry. I’m just wishing that they’d bring back the Sutton hobo bag🤞
So cool that Coach doesn’t kill just for the purpose of leather. I’m a meat eater myself but hate when people kill animals just for the sake of fashion. It’s horrible! Coach got a new point from me 😊 I actually just ordered my first ever Coach bag yesterday 😉
Ive been working for Kate Spade and recently started looking into coach since we get a discount so this video was a great help. I have a cassie 19 for now and I’m looking to add more.
Both use fabrics also I have a 1941 bag which is not glovedhand leather its pebbled. Mine is the small black bag with rivets from the Coach x Tabitha Simmons line. Yes it does have the 1941 hang tag.
yes as mentioned, both do!! but retail uses it significantly less than outlet. Also, pebble leather can be glovetanned...the blue one i showed in the video is glovetanned, and is also pebble leather.
@@IvyWxng nope sorry but your just not correct on these two fronts. They do use just as much fabrics on the inside at the regular site versus the outlet. Infact I would say more then half of their bags have fabrics. It's more rare to find their bags without. Like I said I do have one which has swade inside. The rest are all fabrics of some type. Also, no darling my pebble leather bag is most definitely not glovedhand leather.
@@jenniferrogerson9338 if u rewatch the video you'll hear me referring to the outside of the bag as fabric, not the inside of the bag. I never said the inside of the bag was not fabric. A majority of the INSIDE of bags are also fabric, as well as microfiber, which is basically fabric. I was simply stating that outlet bags use more fabric than retail bags - on the OUTSIDE - which is true. Please understand the context before commenting - people may read these threads and get confused.. and finally for your 1941 comment, its possible that different rules apply for collaboration pieces, and that although it has the 1941 hangtag, isn't actually made in the 1941 line. The designs made by Coach and only Coach in the 1941 line are in fact all glovetanned leather. I can only tell you, what I was taught, which was also 2 years ago. So, do what you will with that information.
@@IvyWxng again your still incorrect especially with that last part with my bag. Your just refusing to admit that your not 100% correct. Look if you don't want to correct your statements who am I to force you. But don't keep down playing that my bag is an actual bag from the 1941 line which is not glovedhand leather. My bag was specifically picked by that designer from a list of designs specifically made during that time. Yes, it has her spin on the bag like at newer bags which are modeled after the other 1941 line. Also you should take your own advice and look up the actual history of this bag before you add your comments.
@@jenniferrogerson9338 i will never NOT admit something when i am wrong, ill be the first one to say that there may be inconsistencies in what I was taught. My above comment was simply stating what i learnt, and i can only share what I know. I'm not saying your bag is inauthentic, just that different rules apply, which you have in fact agreed. I never pretended to know your bag, i can't possibly know every single bag, especially since ive left the company awhile ago, I can only provide people will rules that I was taught. I still stand by my previous comment that the "general" rule is that 1941 = higher quality = glovetanned, and that it may be different for collabs, thats all!
Thank you SO MUCH for this incredibly informative video. If you’re still able to answer comment questions, I’m trying to find out more details not about Coach’s leather sources or sustainability (though those are important, too!), but about its production practices and international employee practices. I can’t find anything about this topic, which naturally makes me super suspicious. I’d hate to find out my coach bag means someone was forced to work under terrible living conditions. Anything you know on this topic would be very appreciated!
I just got into coach lately and bought a lot mostly rexy 😂😂 but in Japan for monogram and adding part (pin) usually only takes 20-40minutes if you come to the store when the craftsman is in shift that day
You are young and years ago, you could purchase leather at the outlets. It’s cheaper for the company to use fabric because it’s cheaper and they get more money for it. You may not have been born yet. Check out vintage Coach . In the video , I can see the quality of the leathers aren’t and good as the old ones. Scratches n dings give the bags character. Older vintage bags are timeless and never out of style for anyone of any age.
What do you think about the vintage Coach bags? Those are Hermes quality, all leather throughout and solid brass. They don't make them like that anymore 😪 I have a solid black Parker that's leather I purchased from the boutique so yes they certainly do carry dark bkack. The Coach logo on your mother's bag that you said you weren't familiar with is from the Poppy line. The "glove tanned " leather today is not really glove tanned. They stopped using that years ago, you cannot scratch glove tanned. Go check out their vintage bags those are tanks.
I think the vintage bags are gorgeous, super classy!! And yes i'm aware they sell black bags ahhaha. Oh, im not sure about the current "glove tanned" process, I can only speak on what I was taught while working there. They made us read up on their different leathers, and the different ways they made them. To my knowledge, glove tanned is still properly done.
@@IvyWxng thank you for replying. They say that it's the same glove tanned but it's clearly not. And what brass they use today is hollowed. I was a SA for years and can honestly say they're not made nowhere near as good as they used to be, but you have that with any brand, prices go up while quality goes down.
hey! so VIP isn't really for "the public" because you need to reach certain criteria in order to be considered!! Don't worry though, follow the tips I mentioned in the video and you will be one soon!!
hi!! im not 100% sure but i believe it refers to the color of the metal. So LI is the classic light gold that coach uses, you'll also see SV which stands for silver. Hope this helps!!

Great video! Thanks for the information on Coach’s leather and product lines. Very informative!
Thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!! :)
You bag collection is soooo pretty. Definitely going to be around forever by the quality.
Great video! You have great energy! This is very helpful in distinguishing between the various leathers, styles, and collections.
Don't know why I'm shocked the outlet bags are different than retail. I wanted to buy a cheaper one at the outlet for years bc I'm not dropping $200-$400s for a purse but just got my 1st back on sale at Macy's.
yay!! i hope you love it!! :))
It would be nice to have some kind of directory to look up the serial number to determine.
JLo opened my eyes again to coach! i have the hutton shoulder bag in the navy chambray and im obsessed with it!
yay im so glad!!! the hutton really is so cute!! :))
Loving both my Store and Outlet Coach bags. xoxoxo
yay!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge on Coach. Only now did I grow a love for this brand.
omg aww thank you so much for saying so!! that makes me so happy :)
I love your voice! Thanks for sharing your lovely HIDUPZ bag / wardrobe collection :) I actually love how you store your collection and definitely an inspiration for me in my future home
Enjoyed this video tremmendously, very informative.
This was super helpful! I feel like I love the brand now more after your video.
oh thats so sweet thankyou!!! and im glad!! :))
@@Cleopatrah7 u can take a peak at this video ua-cam.com/video/gVh7P8yxdeY/v-deo.html for more info! but generally id say either during that time, or between june to august!! goodluck!! :))
4:34 that logo is from the Coach poppy line from like 2009
cool!!!! thanks for the info :))
Wow very interesting info.
Have been loving Coach recently and this video has the best info on everything. Now I know the what exactly I can spend 💵 on.
watched the entire video! thanks so much i learned so much 🤍🙆🏻
hey!! thank you so much for saying so!! glad u enjoyed
Excellent presentation and explanation! 👍🏻
thank you!! :)
Likes learning the the difference between the 1941 collection and the New York collection
What style is that adorable little teal green bag please? Great video by the way!!
I love how you say we and us when you aren’t even working for coach anymore 😂😂
HAHAH yea it's such a habit now!! Looool but maybe if i say it enough, corporate will realize and will give me an internship heheh
Why dont you work for them anymore?
Is there a difference from the retail store vs Macy's, Dillards or Nordstrom? Omg that napa one is beautiful 😍
Wow this was an awesome video. You had my attention until the end,
Thanks for sharing 🤗
awn thank you so much for saying so!!
Thanks for explaining the different types of leather.
Thankyou so much ivy i got the knowledge about coach actually I just received news today that I was accepted by the coach as a sales associate in coach Indonesia.. thankyou for your knowledge
definitely subscribing to you.. u give so much inside on coach..
Hi Ivy,
Loved the video. Just bought a Coach bag today.
My name is Ivy also.
Wow, I love your collection!
Thank you for this vid! I was so surprised when you said you're turning 21, you're very mature! Also, question, Can you monogram even if your bag is a coach outlet product?
This video is so well done
THANKYOU!! :))
Yea she is awesome
@@niahmurray5410 i just saw this comment, you are TOO SWEET
Looove love love the your dress and absolutely loooove the PARKER :))))) Happily subs!
Thank you!!! im so glad you enjoyed!!
I love Coach. They are so durable. 💗
this was very informativeee thankss
So I started getting coach when I was a senior in high school that’s over 15 years ago I like the quality of coach there bags last a along time, they take care of there customers.
I still purchase coach pieces I just got a 31 rouge and I found on the coach outlet is the rowen satchel bag charm
im glad!!! :))
Ivy Wxng yes so I just got the rowen bag charm it’s so cute it’s functional also it’s a keychain but it’s a really small version of the rowen satchel
OH cute i love it!! I love their little imitation key charms!!
Ivy Wxng once I saw it I had to have it I though it was so cute
This video turned me into a Coach fan 😍
Tfs, you are very informational.Love your positive energy 👜 When does Coach offer their best sales?
What is the name of the blue bag ? Thankyou 😊
So cool that Coach doesn’t kill just for the purpose of leather. I’m a meat eater myself but hate when people kill animals just for the sake of fashion. It’s horrible! Coach got a new point from me 😊
I actually just ordered my first ever Coach bag yesterday 😉
Ive been working for Kate Spade and recently started looking into coach since we get a discount so this video was a great help. I have a cassie 19 for now and I’m looking to add more.
that's awesome!! I have a few kate spade pieces too :)) You can check out my Coach Collection video for inspiration too if you'd like!! :)
i really prefer coach bags..I've started collecting and now i have two coach bags...I wish i could collect more ❤
yes girl you will!!!! Trust the process :))
New subby. Thanks for all the great coach info. I’m working on getting on the VIP list. I love coach.
hahah thank you!!! and goodluck!! I hope you get invited to all the VIP sales :))
I love your video. Like I want to have the 1941 design too! I have 2 bags NY design and a wallet
thank you so much!!! and im sure you will find the perfect 1941 bag, and grow your collection! :)
I love the brand and I'm so glad I stumbled upon your very informative video!
Thank you for sharing :)
thank you for watching!! :)))
Do they ever bring back retired bags? I am in love w/ the Klare crossbody but can’t find it anywhere
This video was so good!
Thank you!!
Excellent and very informative! THX!
They don't make them like that anymore 😪
I have a solid black Parker that's leather I purchased from the boutique so yes they certainly do carry dark bkack.
@@abbyluxemburg8968 you're right, sad reality of any brand :(((
Thank you for sharing about the bags and the leather thank you
I did not know coach started a VIP ...The sales girls never told me what time I would go in coach store..
hey! so VIP isn't really for "the public" because you need to reach certain criteria in order to be considered!! Don't worry though, follow the tips I mentioned in the video and you will be one soon!!
Hi! 😊 What’s the name of the blue nag?
Thanks for all the info - super useful. I LOVE Coach and have both their vintage and current bags. Cheers! 😊
Thank you im glad!!! and right! their vintage stuff is so cute!!
What a great video! thanks!
Why are some bags sold in the outlet also sold in the retail online store? Eg coach town bucket bag
Sorry just realized you answered this at 613 mark lol 😆
I like the gloved tanned leather made in USA bags.
Love your personality! Very light and fun! Thanks for this uplifting video! Informative and enjoyable! ;-)
thank you so much for saying so!!! thanks for watching :))
Is there a difference from Coach Retail coated canvas and Coach Outlet coated canvas since both canvas?
Hello! Is there a difference in quality between the leathers at outlet and retail? Thank you so much!!
Can you please tell me what Li means in a bag's description?
Example: Li/Black
hi!! im not 100% sure but i believe it refers to the color of the metal. So LI is the classic light gold that coach uses, you'll also see SV which stands for silver. Hope this helps!!
