In Canada, Walmart sells Liviva organic Shirataki noodles with oat fiber, 400g pouch for $3.97. Yes, same funky smell, but just rinse it under cold water, drain well, then heat in a non-stick skillet on high for a few minutes to 'dry' them out. This helps your sauces stick better, and the noodles absorb the flavors well too. I use them in everything, but do NOT put them in a soup you plan to freeze (add before serving), as it changes the texture...lesson I learned the hard way, lol. I've tried many brands over the years, but these are my favorite. Macros : 100g serving is 15 cals/ 4 carbs/ 3 fiber= 1 net carb. Love you two!❤
Thanks for the information for Canada!
Thank you sharing for us in Canada 🇨🇦 I find it so hard to find low-carb ingredients to sustain my life style. Do you find Egglife tortilla in Canada?
I am in Canada thank you for the info now if Walmart would just get the frozen chicken the keto twins used for orange chicken we would be in business
My Walmart in the east of Canada has it as "Out of Stock". I'll keep checking, thanks!
Yes, often out of stock. Healthy planet used to sell them too@@colleensmith1545
I rinse mine in a plastic collander and let them drain. Then I put the whole collander inserted into a large bowl into my microwave. I nuke them for 90 seconds and they come out dry with all of the water in the bowl that’s underneath the collander..
😂"I breathe in 5 calories." I've these in my cabinet and when the spaghetti desire hits this is my go to noodles. Haven't made any of the recipes on your channel yet but greatly appreciate you ladies being our guinea pig. Thank you❤
‘Plorp’ is my new favorite word.
Well that was great! I love Sarah's comment back to her husband in the end. I laughed a good long time! Now I'm hungry! Thank you Ladies!
He is just looking for his share of the food 😂
*plorp* 😂 I live for your uploads! Thank you!
❤️🤗
same! lol
The "ready to eat" Miracle Noodle does not seem to have any odor at all. It does cost a bit more per serving but to me it's worth it. I just rinse and drain well then use them.
Hmmm I’ve seen those before but we will have to try them soon!
Great! I love your videos, they saved my keto because the super strict keto is hard to live with forever.
Where do you get this brand? Thanks❤
I’ve seen it at Whole Foods, Amazon and Thrive Market ( which I think they advertise on this channel including a great discount). Yes there’s a membership fee but I always save way more than the fee.
I cook with this with Asian soups and mushrooms seasoning, bokchoy and sliced pork or chicken. So happy to see you sisters trying this out . Soups boils all smells away
Good job ladies…. I am very hungry.🤤
Great JOB! I can't eat "keto" and loose weight. I have to eat low carb and watch the fat content (I have lost 25 lbs since the new year) So THANK YOU!!!! It seems every keto or low carb recipe is HIGH in calories and fat. I, too, am dirty keto. Your Dad would be very proud of the video.
Our Japanese daughter in law has been sending us Jonjakou noodles for some time. Yes, drying them does wonders. I love them as noodles or as “rice”. They taste great.
love those trader joe shrimp. i melt butter, add shrimp sprinkle with cajun spice. then add more butter and a little heavy cream. delicious
This is the first time trying them, they are quite good!
Costco also carries a bag of frozen red shrimp from Argentina. They really do taste like lobster. 10 mins in the air fryer is a pretty common lunch for me 😋
Those are the best shrimp and the size is just perfect. Costcos are smaller but the flavor is awesome for both. They are raw but the pink color makes you think they are cooked until you open them. I keep them in my freezer always. This recipe looks so good. Thanks for a great video again 👋👍😋
I use those noodles in all forms. I don't do well with regular pasta or rice d/t a gastric bypass i had 18yrs ago. I like them.
AND glucomannan is an appetite suppressant!!
I watch Twin Talk and when they get irritated with each other one yells "Twin Fight!". You made me think of that when asking for more shrimp.
😂😂
I had the Fettuccine-version for dinner with onions, ground beef, 400ml beef stock seasoned with salt and pepper - delicious! 😋😋😋
*I rinsed the noodles under cold water to get rid of the smell!*
I also like the "Rice"-version and in my pantry I have also the "Spaghetti"-version!! 😊
Your dish looks also very yummy 😋😋😋 - it's now on my to-do list 😁😇😊!!
☀️☀️☀️ greetings from Germany,
Ela 🤗
That looks absolutely scrumptious, but I do carnivore since I found out I’m sensitive to a lot of things. But it’s always fun watching your videos, and mentally “tasting” what you prepare. 😊
Oh, this looks great, you lovelies! I always miss stir fry with noodles on keto. A couple years ago, I tried those noodles and never wanted them again. I'll give it another go with your method, thank you! 🥰🍜
Same!
I also squeeze the water out and then take paper towel and squeez the heck out of them. Saves so much time trying to cook the water out of them
Thank you for the yummy recipe and an extra thanks for the xanthium gum trick.
I appreciate you both!!
Mt Olive makes sugar free bread and butter pickles. They are good!
I use the linguini version of these noodles to make a "just like take out" beef and pepper stirfry xanthamgum is the best thickener to get the glossy texture of the sauce.
I add vingar and salt swish them around rinse and rinse. Once you do this they are great
Looks like what's for dinner!
That looks amazing!!! Just an FYI… I went to write down the recipe but there is no mention of sweetener or ginger 💕 love you guys!!!
Thanks for pointing that out! Fixing now ❤️❤️
i love ur guys videos so much they are so helpful for my journey!! You are so strong and u cherish all of our lives we will always support you Sarah and Emily
Awwww thank you!! That’s so kind!
Shiiiit I was just wondering what to make for lunch! I’m on OMAD so thank you! 😁
🤗🤗🤗
I wanted to leave a comment to first send condolences for all that you have both been through, and also to say a big thank you for your brightness and fun. Ignore the finger pointing people, and just be your awesome selves.
I’m doing it! I bought this type of noodle when they first came out and was so afraid of the taste i opened one bag and couldn’t do it. BUT knowing Emily’s dislike of strong smells…I am convinced! I am going to buy them. I want to make a low carb peanut sauce 🤤 😊Love you ladies! 💋💋
Do u have a tasty recipe for peanut sauce? It’s my Holy Grail!
@@deniselovesglitter I’ve not made it yet but I have been looking on line to see if there is an easy recipe. I don’t know if Sarah and Emily have a recipe or not 🤔
Ok...you've convinced me to go out for peppers and shrimp after work. I have everything else!
I never found the shirataki noodles to have an offensive flavor... and once rinsed the odor was gone... my issue with them after a while was the texture.... it's so different than other "noodles"- but- they are about the losers carb for your bang out there... perhaps it is time to revisit and go back to the basics! Lol!
Thanks for this- and those Argentine shrimps are so good....
Yeah we never have them and were pleasantly surprised
I just Glucomannan for a thickener for my keto gravy. Love your recipes!!!
We’ve never tried that one! Have heard good things
Looks delicious. I have found just rinsing the noodles real well removes the smell, but I think I will try to fix it this way.
The dry fry works very well, even without the vinegar. The flavor absorbtion is the total beauty of those noodles. Thrive Market is great btw.
I think the smell is actually the brine they are packaged in. Rinsing thoroughly and using your method sounds like a great idea! One question: how is the texture? I remember it being somewhat rubbery; does the pre-cooking eliminate that?
My wife disliked them because of the texture as well. Also wonder if this trick helps with that
I used lemon juice in water, soaked for about 10 minutes then drained and rinsed well and then dry cooked the the noodles.
I love those noodles they are awesome put them in a pan cook them a little bit and that smell goes away
another brilliant find thanks. Amazon UK for me, and they have the rice as well a double win 👍
I love to make That same dish with konjac (sp) noodles. SAME THING!
Love you two
❤️ thank you Wendy
lol You two kill me! I need your laughs when I watch after my work days! Love from Ontario, Canada - Keep up the great content and sound effects lmao
❤️🤗
I make shrimp scampi with these. And some low carb garlic bread with the low carb tortillas.
Volume eating works with the stomach stretch signals to your brain to stop eating. I sometimes take advantage of that with shirataki noodles and salads when I don't want to eat the caloric load of eating meat to reach my protein satiety threshold of around 24 ounces or my fat satiety. I can easily eat more than 3 pounds of food in one sitting so every kind of satiety helps.
I just love how natural and unaffected you ladies are. It's such fun to watch you both. ❤ ❤
❤️
I recently learned about shiritaki udon noodles. Had them tonight Pho style. I'm Caribbean so my versions of things are super flavorful. Added velveted chicken and boiled eggs. Crushed red peppers and mushrooms. Delicious!
I actually added a few pinches of glucomannan powder to just barely thicken the broth to help it coat. It wasn't very noticeable but worked fine. I keep the powder on hand as it makes amazing sauces and gravies.
I love these noodles the best. I have to be gluten free and I feel the edamame noodles taste almost too healthy 🤣 you know how certain cakes you smell and you know it's a "healthy" cake 🤣
I like how they soak up other flavours. I use them in all my stir fries and use them as pasta with my spaghetti sauce.
I've made them up like 2 minute noodles with chicken stock powder, garlic powder and a little amount of fried carrot and onion.
They are reallllly good if you dry fry them, then add them to garlic prawns and add peeled sliced cucumber to the mix with extra salt. Cucumber, butter and garlic works so well together.
Yum!! Recipe looks wonderful!! They need to be soaked in a bowl with water and acid! For 10-20 minutes…drain, stir fry..
I've been making this for a while now, almost exactly as you've shown! I also find it better to mix the xantham gum with dry ingredients for a better blend. This recipe also is so much better the next day reheated. I've also been know to grate a little parm on top. Yum! Love your channel.
That looks AMAZING! Used to eat shirataki noodles all the time, but got away from it. Now I waaaaaant them baaaaaack...
You two are such troopers❣️. I was so sorry to hear about your dad but I know he passed well and you two are a tribute to him💕
Love this recipe, thanks❣️❣️
Thanks for the support Stacy ❤️❤️
I haven’t used Miracle Noodles in a while but I’ve been able to remove the smell from House Foods Tofu Shirataki and other Shirataki noodles by rinsing them, boiling them in water with some salt added for 5+ minutes and draining. They’re neutral in smell and taste after that.
Thanks for reminding me about these noodles. I have been using the Immi noodles most often. Because of this video I tried it again and remember how good it was. I used shrimp with snow peas, mushrooms and red pepper. Will now add this to my noodle rotation.
Love you two and your content! You’ve encouraged me to use my Thrive membership that I’ve not used!
On the personal side, thanks for sharing about the loss of your beautiful father. Life changes when we lose a parent. And please ignore the haters. Those who support you are MUCH LOUDER!❤
Thank you so much for the support Susan ❤️
I find rinsing them is enough to replace noodles for Asian style recipes but can't handle them as a pasta type replacement. I'm keen to try this method when I feel like pasta. But I do think your method really soaked up the sauce so well, so might go to the effort for Asian dishes too.
Yum! And I have all the ingredients!
Wow! That looks absolutely amazing and I'm starving! 😂
Thanks Ladies ❤
Thanks for supporting us Lisa!
Wow, this looks delicious! Definitely going to be trying this one. 😋
This was great idea for low carb low calories meal! You got my subscription! Well done research and looking forward to another one. Like you said to Alex “I give you credit when it’s due !” And you definitely deserve it! I also like angel cake idea and I’m making every another day!
Has onyone tried the Liviva Noodles? They're my absolute fave!
So I tried this method for cooking the noodles tonight and omg.... game changer and adding a bit of Xanthan gum to the sauce too. This solved my problem of having a soupy stir fry at the end. I would love if you guys did a live. That would be awesome.
Yay! So glad you liked it! ❤️ going live is scary 🤣 but we might try it someday!❤️
You guys are just a delight. Thank you for sharing!
🤗❤️
try the skinny noodle brand....NO SMELL and so much better than what you're using.
I made this last night for supper except with chicken. I added mushrooms too. OMGosh Soooooooooo good 😋 Thank you girls for yet another successful taste test ❤
Yay!
Looks delicious but I'm so jealous that you each have a low carb buddy for sharing! Thanks for the tips on the noodles: I love the idea of getting a little more (volume) bang for my buck sometimes and will use your basic recipe to come up with a single meal + leftovers.
I've been rinsing mine in lemon juice. Works wonders.
It's been a while since I've seen anyone touched Shirataki noodles. I think they are great and useful. I get them from my Asian Food Store for a couple of bucks.
This Stir fry looks delicious.
I like to put them into a simmered savory stew or broth soup, like Ramen style. They really soak up the flavor and get a softer texture after simmering a bit in broth.
Well, I will definitely give shirataki noodles another try. That looks delicious. I tried them once before but was put off by that fishiness even with rinsing them, and probably by the texture too since I didn’t know to dry them out. So thank you for putting this together… I’ll definitely be doing the vinegar rinse and then trying the recipe. And a new Trader Joe’s just opened right near me! Shrimp! Must be a sign…:)
Another great video. I have fallen in love with It's Skinny brand and Miracle Noodles. A good rinse under really hot water followed by the dry cook method is more than enough to get rid of any off-putting flavors, and the noodles will soak up any flavor once you cook them in your sauce for a few minutes. It's Skinny noodles have a more appealing color because there is oat fiber in the recipe, so anyone turned off by the neon white color of Miracle Noodles will probably like them more. And maybe it's just me, but I get a hint of wheat-like flavor from them as well.
Looks good!! I just bought the langostino tails from Trader Joe's yesterday. They are really tasty too.
I like the Liviva noodles. Rinse well. Boil in water with a tablespoon of vinegar. Rinse again. Return to the pan and 'dry fry' with no oil. I eat them with low carb Alfredo and Italian sausage, regular spaghetti sauce. Really good in stir fry too... There are some videos on how to make them yourself. Mine were not as good as the Liviva noodles. Would like to try it with squid ink...
Many others have mentioned them, we will have to give them a try!
I use these noodles all te time and have never noticed a smell. I just wash it of and microwave them for 2 minutes to dry them. Lately I’ve been making some Realgood chicken and putting spaghetti sauce on it.
Sad to say I purchased 6 packs of those noodles and ended up throwing all 6 away. I wish I would have had this video to guide me towards preparing these low carb noodles. Thanks for all the info where Keto/LowCarb information is concerned👍🏼😉🥰aren’t these noodles made with seaweed????
I have used shirataki noodles for many years. I always rinsed them well but didn't bother to cook them dry before adding other ingredients. Thanks for the video. I will try it this way.
🤗🤗 thanks Judy!
I did change my usual treatment of the noodles and did cook them this time only 3 min. or so then dry roasted them. Wow...they did indeed absorb the sauce rather than the sauce just sitting around the surfacee. Texture was better also. It will never replace wheat noodles but certainly an improvement and perfect for asian type recipe, IMHO.
And...having no shrimp but had de-boned chicken thigh which I cut into strips this workd very well...but I will be repeating with shrimp in the near future. I will be looking or ordering online for the Thai version as I only had the fettuccini. It worked too! Thanks for the recipe ansd tips!
That looks AMAZING!! I cannot wait to make it this week. I have sczechuan pepper and thai basil. As for the miracle noodles, I found the "miracle noodle" brand on Amazon that I love and is far less stinky compared to what we have had in the past. They also have different types of noodles and 'rice'. AND, I have not tried them yet but they have some that are already flavored with various sauces like Thai Peanut, etc. Maybe that could be another video - trying their various versions?
Perfect I’ve been craving shrimp. I watched your update video recently and I’m sending both of you bigs bear hugs. You two have been through a lot the last few years. I love your videos !
Love your description of the smell, “fish tank”. Anyone who has had tropical fish, you know that smell! 😂
Hi, love your channel! Sending much love and light to you guys, I saw your other channel where you talked about what you've been going through. Ignore the haters in the comments! 💗 And on a shirataki-note; I've only ever tried to rinse them properly and then boiling them, then throwing them into a Bolognese or some other sauce, but I will try to dry-fry them and see if there's a different, because I never had that fishy taste after boiling them. Thank you for your videos! 🤩
I’ve seen these noodles at my at a couple of my natural foods stores, but never tried them . Thanks for the Ontario 🇨🇦tip that these noodles are available in Walmart. Will be going there tomorrow for groceries, so will look for these noodles. Great ideas for rinsing, the vinegar and dry cooking. It clearly makes a big difference. Your recipe sounds great…definitely going to try. If I manage 15 c for a meal that’s a good thing 👍👍
I got some of the egg white protein noodles. They are pretty good as well. I LOVE Thrive, especially for frozen foods.
Yes we like those too!
😂😂 I LOVE your channel. You remind me of my sister and I. I don't like sea food at all, but that sure did look delicious 😋
I hope that this isn't because my senses just really suck, but all I do with those noodles is give them a really good rinse. I don't dry cook them first or anything extra and I don't taste anything but the flavors I've added.
I love this dish I usually do it with chicken excelent
Looks so good. I've been craving stir fry lately, Thanks!
Love hearing from the hubbo!!!! ❤❤❤ You both are too awesome!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Once again I have learned of a product I would have never known about. Ty.
Oooh i would so have loved this when i was doing 5.2... but definitely trying it soon.
Yummmm! I'm definitely trying this! Could you pretty please do a keto strawberry shortcake? It's starting to be strawberry season, and I would love something sweet and seasonal! 🍓💖
That’s Sarah’s fav :) maybe we can find a new recipe to try!
I should know bwtter than to watch theae videos on an empty stomach ! Sounds fabulous - except for the fish tank ! Will give it a try !😂
Thank you for testing a shirataki noodle recipe. Ive tried them before and not been impressed but now I’m willing to try them again
Thank you for this!!
you guys rock enjoy your channel
Aw thanks Lisa, appreciate you!
Made this with a brand of noodles called Diet Cooker on Amazon had no smell at all. Skip the vinegar soak.
That looks amazing! I will definitely whip this up.
I'm curious as to if the texture has changed because of the way you cooked them. My biggest issue with shirataki noodles is that they tend to be on the rubbery side.
We honestly have only had them a couple times in the past so it’s hard to compare, we liked it 🤷🏻♀️ we might not be picky though lol
Thanks girls 😘😘I hated these noodles originally but because I trust y'all I'm gonna try it this way❤!!!That looks delicious 🤤
That looks great. I have some of those noodles in my cabinet. I think I am to try this recipe and add chicken and shrimps. Thank you
Wow! Looks great thanks!!!!
Thank you 💟
