Actually there were better Electric cars made in the 1910s before consumers decided they preferred fuel, check out the Baker electric car from 1908, it was genuinely decent despite looking like the offspring of a phone booth and a carriage

The G-Wiz was actually voted as the worst car EVER sold in the UK by readers of Auto Express magazine in 2016, and it’s also my least favourite car in the world...
The description said that this was first broadcast in 2005, but the G-Wiz in the video is a 2006 on an 06-plate. So this couldn’t have been first broadcast in 2005 - more likely 2006. EDIT: I saw that the description has been edited to say the correct series and broadcast year of this episode.
Can’t believe there isn’t a market for something like that now though, even if it was 10 to 12 grand, my season ticket cost me that in three years. Give me a range of 60 miles and I’m your man! The problem is that even things like the smart EQ range at the moment cost north of 15. We do need an electric one or two seater commuter car like that! Seriously though this is what used to annoy me about many of these old reviews, trying to use a tool for something for which it was never designed. After all you wouldn’t use a smart car as a taxi, so let’s at least review things fairly! Great bit of fun though!
The worst car?...just got a DC Gwiz for 1k, spent 4k fixing and upgrading it...now it run on lithium, has the same range of an Electric Smart with more torque...so....
@@krecik2336 you're right. A guy lowered the suspensions, installed disk brakes, reduced weight by 150kg. It brakes much better than lead acid version, accelerate like a 300cc motorbike and it's much more maneuverable. May be a rollbar it's necessary 🤣
Now with the likes of the Citroën Ami coming out this year, in all honesty the G-Wiz was well ahead of its time, and car journalists have been responsible for ridiculing something (as a group identity) that should've been a benefit to urban mobilisation and carbon/pollutant reduction when we had the chance.
It really wasn’t. The Ami was just another in a long line of French microcars that happened to make its way to Britain. Remember the Twizy? France was making cars like that for decades before Reva Mahindra even conceived the G-Wiz. Those cars aren’t even meant for normal adults, but they are meant for teenagers who don’t have their licenses yet. Either way, the G-Wiz was crap by any measure, given it was a cheap, dangerous, underpowered-by-electric-standards, shitbox produced for a pittance in some warehouse in India, and couldn’t even be called a car in Britain, instead a quadricycle. The fact that they included a backseat was laughable, and insulting. It came at a time when electric craving wasn’t really widespread anywhere except select parts in select cities, and was a fad at best. The worst part about it is that they had the audacity to sell it despite the fact that it was a death trap to anyone who crashed it faster than 25 mph.
i have this neighbour that has had it for at least 2 years and not a single good word about the peice of c**p its very depressing dole and dangerous please band these damn poor excuses for a car which its not which will never will be so sad that these things exsist

I feel like cars like G wiz gave alot of people the wrong impression of EV's early on
Poor range, Looks awful, slower than a slug and the most dangerous shit box with 4 wheels to ever drive on UK roads ... thank gawd for Tesla
Not even practical for living in a suburb or small town. You’ll be holding up traffic if 40MPH is the best it can go on a good day.
Yeah but it wasn't the wrong impression...

It is so good it gets 50 miles of range and can do 0-60 in never
It is nice looking though
His daughters suffered quite considerably for this.
0:25 Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R!
My man
Ah, it looks so beautiful
it's a car that officially makes children cry
even child don't have enough knee room,
Those kids growing up to cry everytime they hear consumer test
Seems like an advert for avoiding the Republic of londinium more than a car!
Not to mention the horrible crash protection in the event of a crash - it’s not so much a car as a rolling coffin on wheels.
Someone noticed the Skyline at 0:24?

1:23 - Metrocab! 🚙
Not worst but little effort to make this environment better
A longer extension lead is apparently out of the question when you have a criticism to invent.
Now Tesla is the leader in electric cars
But also quite expensive, leaning into luxury territory. I'm waiting for the Corolla of EVs.
Lovely to see some past and present soccer am guys on here
Good old days 😁
the first EV car from india that so popular that even tesla cant capture it. when anyone see it, ah the gwiz my old nemesis.

The most interesting car on the video is the convertible Saab ahead the G-Wiz, but the little eletric car is cool too!
I love both the cars! They’re so awesome.
We have uncovered a very rare specimen.... A person who likes the G-Wiz
