Had this pen in my rotation all last month. Actually, most of this month too! I inked it with Waterman "Tender Purple" because I really like the color, and didn't want to risk staining the barrel. This, coupled with the ability to pull the nib and feed, made it a breeze to clean! Oh yeah, got mine with a Bock nib too!

really like my p36! i put a bock titanium nib in, very good! i haven't had any issues with the grip either, it seems to have a very fine texture that you can hear if you run your fingernails across it.

Nice review! I don’t understand why everyone is calling everything a knockoff. Every single pen on the market in every brand is a knockoff if you think about it. I would challenge you to design a pen that isn’t showing signs of being a knockoff. Can’t be done. You can design only so many pens without them looking like something else. Look at cars, houses, knives etc. Just review the pen as it is.

I do really like the pen. I've had it for a while now. The problem with these pens are there are so many good pens to choose from. A cigar shaped pen doesn't belong to one company... so.... I don't think it's a copy. I don't think the Jinhao x159s are MB copies because they are not piston fillers or have a star.... After getting my Jinhao pens I realized that I loved the size that is what drove me to get the 149... of course I had to get a vintage with a split ebonite feed.
BTW.. I love your videos because you show both the well writing low-cost pens and the beautiful out of reach for many aspirational pens.
I think it was rewatching your videos I realized although I do believe that the the Divina is one of the most beautiful pens I have ever seen, I had to go with the Homosapien Dark Age because of the filling system.

You are not wrong, most pens in the community fall into two camps, either cigar or flat top, although it does seem quite similar to a Conid Bulkfuller. That siad, it does have a different filling mechanism. I do wonder what the owners of Conid think about the pen.
Thanks for watching the videos, and as much as I do have a lot of high end pens, I do try to cover all areas of the market. We all start off generally in the lower priced budget and gradually make our way up the scale in terms of price, so I think it's important to cover all prices of pens.
The Visconti Divina is definitely one of the more attractive looking pens, I still love writing with mine but with the amount of pens I have now, it's difficult to ink them all up, but I will have them in an upcoming video again soon.

@PenultimateDave my favorite Divina of yours is the Emerald...It's beautiful.
Ironically, my secret favorite pen is a Jinhao Shark pen it's goofy, it's fun, it's unique, it's $4.00, and it writes well. I have broken the ice with that pen so many times.... plus, sharks!

I am getting one with the Asvine M nib and not Bock. Do you think the Asvine nib is good enough. BTW great detailed review. Enjoyed it 😊

I find the grip to be quite slippery. What do you think?

    • @PenultimateDave
      @PenultimateDave  10 місяців тому +2

I haven't found it slippery at all for me.

I saw comments on fountain pen network that said the bock nib on the p36 is not good, it’s dry and usually skips while writing. My local store only have the ones with the bock nibs, so I’m hesitant to pull the trigger. What about your asvine p36?

I have found the tines are a little tighter than I'd like but not had any issues skipping.

@@PenultimateDave Thanks for the reply, I guess it comes down to just luck then.

😍❤The brushed metal ✅did it for me 👍
I wonder if a Visconti 23k Pd would fit on it.

The threads on the nib units between Bock and the Bock made Visconti are quite different, so you'd have to pull the nib/feed and manually insert it.

@@PenultimateDave 🙏 If you tried it, did the Visconti nib/feed behave differently on the P36?

I often change a nib my just switching the metal part. I have a TWSBI with a Diplomat nib (best steel nib on the planet?) and it was switched like that.
