Thank you! Yes! So, you know the exact feeling I'm talking about! I love these little towns, especially at Christmas! there's nothing like it. ♥️ I think part of it is the history for me. I would love to see the Christmas window displays from when these towns were still young!

Hi, Shana! What a lovely idea for a Christmas tree!!! I think I'm going to snaffle your idea and hunt around to see what I have that would work on a diddy tree (and that I won't need for the next few weeks!)!
As for the paintings? They are so completely different that I can't choose. I love the Olde Town, because apart from being a good painting, it has brought back happy memories of childhood! I love the landscape because again, it's a good painting, silver birch are my favourite trees, to look at, as well as to paint, and the painting brings back happy memories, and I've painted similar landscapes, plein air, over the years. But Shana, I had to laugh about the not-dry sky and making the same mistake twice!
We have very cold winters here, but it's very rare that it snows. This is my eighth Christmas, and we have only had snow once - a very fine sprinkling which was swiftly gone. But who knows what this winter will bring? We've had incredibly high temperatures and severe drought for over a year, and since late October, we've had rainy days more often than not, but usually giving less than the average rainfall.
Your painting has reminded me of a very heavy snowfall in 2009, and the joy of putting on my furry boots and making snow-stars as I walked on thick, crunchy, pristine snow with absolutely no-one else about! There are cut-out stars on the heels of these boots, and it was great fun to make those tracks, and I didn't care who thought what about this (at the time) almost 60 year old.
So many thanks for sharing the paintings with us, and for evoking some very happy memories! 🤗

I'm so glad that my work has brought back some good memories for you! That always makes me happy to hear!
I would be the same way, with the stars in the snow. Age be damned! To me, as long as your main responsibilities in life are taken care of, it doesn't matter what age you act after that. Life is too short not to find joy in simple spontaneous pleasures.
As far as the sky goes, my impatience got the best of me, haha. The painting, for the most part, went very quickly. But there were uneven dry times for parts of it, I think, due to the paper. It all worked out in the end, though!
Thank you, as always, for watching and commenting. Thinking about you having fun with your boots in the snow has put a smile on my face! I hope this winter brings some magic to your life! 💖

they're so different and i love them both. my favorite thing on the second one is the snow colored by skies, reminds me of kustodiev's winter paintings

Thank you! I love it when the color of the sky reflects on snow. It's one of my favorite things about winter!

Oooooo, 20% off at Jackson’s, I’ll be right over! 😂 Both cards are gorgeous, I love the details you’ve added in both, and using the silver to hide the tape tear is a great idea!

Haha, I'm glad you caught the Jackson's part, I wasn't sure anyone would notice! Thank you! I'm glad you like the cards! The silver hid it really well, too, and I think it looks cool, so I'm I thought of it. Thanks for watching!

I needed me some more Christmas, so when I saw there was an entire Christmas video of yours I missed, I arrived toot sweet!! Hmmm… you ask the toughest questions Shana. I have stared at the side by side part of the cards and I’m torn. So, before I changed my mind, I’m going to say the winters country scene as the colours were so beautiful together. Despite there being not a single decoration in sight, it felt more Christmassy somehow. Possibly due to my own very rural Scottish roots. Thanks for cheering up my drooping lip! Wondering what else I may have inadvertently missed now… 🤔🎨🖌️👩🏻‍🎨🤷‍♀️❤️

Thank you so much for watching Anita! I'm glad I could bring you some much needed, belated Christmas cheer! I go back and forth on which one I like best, too. I think right now I'm partial to the countryside one, too, because it feels homey to me, lol. 🥰

@@CautionArtistatPlay Homey, that is the exact same word I should have used. They are both lovely, and just like me, what touches you depends on the day, hour or minute I am looking. Art should touch us in that way I feel certain. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. As I write, it is 21.42 and I am already tucked up in bed, with my cat Whispa - daft name, but I rescued her already named 🤷 What is the time difference in your part of Maine? I say "your part" as I am aware some states have more than one timezone due to the vastness of land.
Fun fact Shana. The population of London alone is over nine million. Whilst the population of Scotland (including the many many inhabited islands) hovers around four million, and only that as we have welcomed so many from the mayhem of European wars. Thank goodness we are a race rebound for our friendliness. It's now 21.47!! 😂😂 Slow one fingered typer!! In other words - I'm old!! 😂🤷🤷

@anitadavidson1266 I hope you are nice and cozy, and you may not see this until it is morning there. We are Eastern Standard Time here, it is about 7:35 P.M. I am currently in my studio, with my dog Maisie, cleaning up the art messes I have made over the past few days. It's not too late here, but I'm definitely ready to start settling down for the night! It's so cool to speak to people from other parts of the world. It's one of the things I love about modern technology! Thank you for sharing! 💖

We loved the landscape painting. The branches looked great. I know part of this was water control but what brush and/or brush size did you use to get such wispy branches? Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much! It was a size zero rigger brush. This one was just a no-name from Amazon, I think lol. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thank you so much for watching!
