The Similarities Between Halo and Star Wars

- This is not an exhaustive list. And I'm not saying the franchises are the same or anything. They just happen to be similar in some aspects.
Some key differences:
The overall plot for Halo and for Star Wars is almost completely different. The Covenant and the Empire are only comparable insofar as they are both totalitarian. The Halo rings and the Death Star are not even on the same order of magnitude when it comes to destructive potential.
Halo takes place in our galaxy and includes Earth; Star Wars takes place long ago in a galaxy considerably far away.
The three Halo entries that came after the original trilogy are not connected to each other at all. One is an RTS spin-off set 20 years before the originals. It was not made by the same people who made the other games. The next takes place during the events of the second game. The last one took place right before the first game. For Star Wars, the three films following the originals formed their own trilogy.
For Halo, the developers left the franchise to make something else. For Star Wars, the creators sold the franchise.
Cortana didn’t technically die like Han Solo did. But the good side of her was lost, while the rampancy side remained.
Remakes, remasters, and re-releases have been handled vastly differently. Halo has had only a few while Star Wars rereleases are basically a meme at this point, even spawning the Honest Trailer UA-cam series.
The Halo TV series are more like mini-series and did not see anywhere the amount of success of the Star Wars TV shows.
Star Wars has had two spin-off movies since being sold to Disney. Halo has had three spin-off games since Bungie left, and one of them was a sequel to a previous spin-off.
Halo is a harder sci-fi than Star Wars.
And probably the most important difference- Disney wiped away the extended universe canon, while 343 Industries did not and has fully embraced it. - Ігри

I say, after the human forerunner war, some of the ancient humans escape, to a galaxy, far far away.
Fast forward a hundred thousand years, let's say the covenant uncover some portal or slip space drive, and take the fight to the galactic republic.
The UNSC follow thru, at some point.
Fast forward a bit further, you got masterchief fighting on corascant with ODSTs keeping the planet shields from going down, so the covenant don't glass the planet, alongside some clone troopers.
It would be epic.
@@johnnyb7628 my idea is escaped precursors took humans with them to another galaxy and taught them the force (the precursors way of seeing life is that everything is Alive. I had the idea that their concept was essentially the force).

Also forgot to mention the ark of a main antagonist change of heart (arbiter and Vader) as well as the third entry in the trilogy blowing up a second superweapon while still under construction. Cortana and R2D2 both being blue synthetics who always have tricks up their sleeves to help the heroes, how similar guilty sparks voice is to c3p0, even the jedi and spartans being all but extinct by the time of the first installment because they were wiped out in a prequel.
Plus they both had a third release that dealt with the destruction of a half-built super weapon
Also:
Obi Wan = Keyes
Both are 57 year old men whose best days are behind them. They don't live up to their legendary status in their screen time and die on the super weapon.
Death Star I = Installation 04
Both were being perfected over years before the first installment and their destructive power was first learned about in the first installment of the franchise. They are also destroyed after the main protagonist goes through a trench run.
Palpatine = Prophet of Truth
Both are chairbound villains who know no loyalty and will use any means necessary to make their plans work.
Vader = Arbiter
The antagonist taking orders from the chairbound villain. He eventually turns on the chairbound villain after realizing his evil intentions and kills him.
Death Star II = Installation 00
Both are destroyed at the end of the third one because they are incomplete and have a lot of structural problems.
Keyes and Obi-Wan totally lived up to it. If not for them, Chief and Luke would never have been able to destroy each superweapon, and both died fighting bravely (more or less). Both even die at the hands of a tall cyborg in a suit of armor.

I think they are close enough to identical. Not so much in tone and lore, but in setting and sci-fi weapons, space ships and interstellar travel.
Star Wars is more of a fun space opera with war in the background, with a more hopeful tone even when plenty of dark things happen and leads to disastrous consequences. Halo on the other hand does not have much of a hopeful tone and is not much of a space opera. It shows humanity suffering one defeat after another until the discovery of the Halo rings.

I became interested in Halo after I got into video game collecting and I felt it was somewhat similar to Star wars. Finish combat evolved and I'm still playing Halo 2. I love the series. And I agree the latest attempts in the series have not been well handled. Very similar to star wars

Halo Legends and what’s the Star Wars one called?
The standard battle droid = the grunt (Week alone but strong in large numbers)
The super battle droid = the elites (are larger and more powerful)
The droideka = The jackal (Use precision style fight and deploy the shields as the are fighting)
The separatist tank = the phantom
Order 66 = the great schism (A sudden slaughter of a group that resulted in an uprising)
AT-AT Walker = scarab tank
Energy sword = lightsaber
Darth sidious = The prophet of truth (Incredibly manipulative and will betray/dispose of his comrades in order to execute his plan)
SW: The force awakens = Halo 4 (Not revived well by the fans due to change of style and feeling disconnected from the rest of the franchise)
TLJ= Halo 5 (Seen by many as the worst in the franchise due to its poor treatment of the characters, bad choreography and dumb writing)
Both fan bases (Constantly have a very split fanbase when a new product is released. Has purists with unrealistic expectations and flip their shit when the said product doesn’t reach it. Although both fan bases have been lied to by the newer teams)
I would say the Commando Droid or ARC Troopers would be more akin to the Elites
Halo and Star Wars feel like from the same family of space opera but doing things in their own way.
Same way I feel about Mass Effect and Star Trek but that one is lesser because the overall plot and endgame of Mass Effect is more different than Star Trek's.
The difference between Halo and Star Wars is that Halo would never, EVER send Master Chief off to milk walruses. 343 may not be Bungie, but they respect the characters. Halo 5 was bland, pointless, and had "Cortana" act out of character, but it wasn't pointless to the point of nihilism, like TLJ. And RoS was also pointless. Nothing changed since RoTJ in any meaningful way. If the Empire can come back under a new name with the same goals after RoTJ, it could do so again after RoS. No one learned anything.
The Covenant seen in Halo 4 and 5 were explicitly a remnant force without the means to challenge the human race anymore, and they aren't the main threat; the Forerunner technology is. The main villains in Infinite are the Banished. Unlike the "First Order", which is the Empire in all but name, the Banished have zero intentions of doing what Covenant wanted to do; the Covenant wanted to bring about salvation for its member species by firing the Halo rings, not knowing that they were superweapons designed to purge sapient life from the galaxy to starve the Flood. The Banished aren't deluded or insane; they want power and see the rings as a means to get it. They want to conquer and rule, not bring about the end of history and fulfill the promise of salvation.
The First Order is the Star Wars version of Jul ‘Mdama’s Covenant a.k.a. the Storm Covenant. The Final Order is the Star Wars version of the Banished.

Also, UNSC and Covenant are similiar to Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire, Marines and Rebels has this charm to them and feel like US soldiers, Galactic Empire and Covenant are technologically superior and have the upper hand in the war and they use their basic infantry as cannon fodder.

The Force Awakens is mediocre, because it was practically a remake of the original. The Last Jedi is an atrocity that ruined everything star Wars was about. The rise of skywalker was a desperate attempt to fix what was wrong with the previous films and all it did was devalue the victory in return of the jedi and devalue anakin’s sacrafice. The Clone Wars was really good because it was unique, expanded the star wars universe and was overall a better version of the prequels with better dialogue and plot development. Rogue One was an original story with well developed characters and made it feel like a war in the stars. The Mandalorian is a masterpiece which tells an amazing, compelling story. And for the record, there’s no “biased nostalgia” because I grew up with the prequels

Infinite saved Halo, although the live action series is going to be its "High Republic"; woke, lame, and not very relevant to most people. I eagerly await the non-woke DLC for the campaign.
