Last I check BB got into a high dif fight with ace, got bodied by Magellan, almost killed by a weak, old, dying wb and ran from akainu. Shanks would never. He beats ace with ease like every other yonko. Beats Magellan by himself, would never run from akainu, and would beat wb in marineford.

I don't know why everybody thinks BB will kill Shanks in a 1vs1 fight the way story is going right now it is pretty clear that Shanks has a much bigger role to play than just meeting luffy or the last stepping stone for BB.

I don’t know how many people realize this but the red hair pirates are Viking pirates. Their boat makes that fact obvious but they don’t look like Vikings. Another fun fact is that oda made it clear on chapter 10 that Vikings are his favorite pirates.

With Mihawk at marineford situation, you can tell he's holding back tremendously, that slash toward Whitebeard was, one, unnamed, and two, used as a testing slash to see just how strong Whitebeard was. It wasn't a full-powered attack meant to kill Whitebeard. When he pulls up to Shanks and his crew, he doesn't use his haki, because he's not trying to fight anybody there. Shanks knew that he might have to fight Whitebeard so that's why he pulls up with the haki. Mihawk knows that he's not going to fight Shanks or his crew so he doesn't use haki. If Mihawk was actually trying to kill Luffy at marineford, Luffy would be dead. It only makes sense that he was holding back given the guys dialogue, it definitely seems that way. He even remarks how Luffy has good future sight, noticing how Luffy doesn't throw out his attack toward Mihawk just to get his arms cut off. By being able to tell Luffy was using future-sight in that way, Mihawk would have used a counter-attack on Luffy to kill him. It's the same reason why Mihawk I didn't use any name attacks, he's intentionally sandbagging.

Shanks is not that far-off with in terms of power compared to other Yonkos.
Kaido and Big Mom could do the same what Shanks did to Kid. Given the same circumstances.
Shanks just bodied him as he was supposed to as a Yonko.
We might learn a lot about the celestial dragons in this arc especially since they’re the gods of this world, as weak as they may seem they are very important and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are powerful celestial dragons outside of just political power.
We getting a Kuma flashback soon and york wants to become one of the people that made kumas flashback so tragic.

To be fair shanks did told his commanders to not to underestimate kid’s growth plus shanks hit kid with a surprise attack after seeing into the future what he was about to do to his fleet and stop his rail gun mid charge cause of how dangerous and destructive it was with one of roger’s attacks
And the only people that Kidd has lost to is kaido, big mom, shanks and benn beckman, who is stated to be as strong as shanks plus kidd has made it this far while barley using any Haki at all so really asides from the emperor’s nobody else is really gonna beat kid one on one easily

Lastly, can I just say that it took Luffy 6 month’s training with Rayleigh another 1 1/2 year training by himself and a lot of other battles with a lot of other big name characters just to get to the level of Haki that he has. This idea that Kidd is going to magically awake and have Haki in one day literally undermines the whole one piece, how does Kidd learn and master Haki before the end of the series? If anything he might show up at the end when Luffy is pirate king just to challenge him that’s the only redemption he has in my book, and even then he’s still going to get one shot 🤣 The End, that’s the only way Oda brings back Kidd with Haki in my book anything after that makes no sense
