2024 BMW R12 NineT is the replacement to the decade old R nineT and while is shares the same air-cooled boxer twin as its predecessor, the new model’s improvements focus on the chassis and technology while cleaning up the retro styling and offering a vast array of customisation options to tailor each bike to its owner’s whims. Brought one like you tested in Nov 2023. Due in Australia in Early April. Nice change from my GSA which for a mature rider like me was getting a bit too heavy. Taken by the great looks, so I was an easy sale. 😁
Good job, I just picked up an R12 (Cruiser), love it. BTW, that key is just for the fork lock, nothing else...

I wouldn't like to be cleaning that bike after a ride on UK Flooded roads covered in pot holes 😅
Imagine the muck and dirt splattered all over that engine with that budget front mudguard 😮although I'd imagine this luxury item wouldn't see a rainy day.

Will there be a review of the normal R12? Can’t seem to find anything about that because everything seems to be overshadowed by the NineT version

It was just the R12 nineT on the launch, alongside the F 900 GS and M 1000 XR
Does it have a fuel gauge? Nav system keyless start no fuel gauge just doesn't make sense
Can you confirm if it has a fuel gauge? I thought not, but you mentioned seeing the range on the dash!
No it doesn't have one, but it does tell you what you are getting to the gallon ... i know stupid ... was looking at this Richard at Shipley bmw said if your not worried about the clocks and if it was my money... he said bang for buck, he would buy a R1250R 23plate ... if you can test ride one do ... lol ... i brought one ... was going to get spoked wheels for it but went for standard in the end
The moto Guzzi V100 Mondello is the equivalent to this BMW R12.
Which bike is the equivalent made by Ducati and Triumph ?
The Ducati multistrsda is an adventure bike, so that’s not it.
Is it Ducati Street fighter V4 ?
Is the Triumph Rocket 3 the equivalent or the T120 or the Speed Twin 1200 ?
Definitly the V100 Mandello, and I would think also the Triumph Speed Twin.
I forgot to add, no mention of the lack of fuel gauge. Whilst it might be understandable on a bike with analogue clocks, with a digital option, it's inexcusable. Come on BMW
Why do you need a fuel gauge?
Are you serious? They want £15/£16k for a bike and you have to work out how much fuel you have from your trip meter. It's a joke. Genuinely considering one but this is a huge negative for me @@johnnunn8688

@@johnnunn8688 because you paid a shit ton of money for what essentially is a 90s bike. Get a grip. People like you are the culprit of manufacturers getting away with diminishing functionality in not just motorcycles, but cars and laptops and etc.

I would get rid of these crappy mirrors right away as I did on my f 800 gs in 2012. They are dangerous. Why they still produce them ?
Nice bike but they left the one thing I don't like, the Boxer engine. I prefer the Speed Twin 1200.😊
Have you ridden a boxer? They rock. I’ve got a GSA, and to be frank, the engine is superb, and the best part of the bike.
Cool bike but whoa...your riding position is just atrocious in the corners. I winced every time.
Crossed up like hell. I’ve noticed as well. I am no pro but even I can see that his posture is horrendous. And he does this for a living lol

I’ve put many thousands of kilometers on Boxers and I’m over the moon with the bike’s aesthetics. But, the one thing that keeps my wallet in my pocket? Dry clutch; it even sounds like a medical condition. Despite all my efforts, I couldn’t bring myself to pretend the dry clutch gave a Boxer “character” - for sure chatter, clunkiness, and cursing - but character? Nope. I’d love to be wrong and welcome opinions to the contrary . . .
I'd say it's a downgrade from the old one in performance. With the same wheels and same amount of fuel it's about 6kg heavier, has less torque (made higher in rpm range), less power, longer wheelbase, more relaxed fork rake, lower back end, and smaller brakes than the outgoing bike. What am I missing. The rider aids and modes are just not necessary or value adding on this bike.
Still no fuel gauge, unbelievable from a company like BMW, massive omission 😮😮
