Burmese Street Food “Mont-Lin-Maya” Husband and Wife Snack| အရသာစုံစုံလင်လင် မုန့်လင်မယား

The snack is always come after a meal or afternoon tea break time or the union time with friends or family. The one bite sized snack is made with the rice and you can customize the ingredients whatever you prefer. Moreover, it is the best snack to having at family time or friends union since it is fun when we are all making them together.
Its name is also interesting which is “Mont-Lin-Ma-Yar” in Burmese language, meaning “A couple snack” or “Husband and wife snack” because the two of the snacks are combined into one. There are different recipes in Yangon, and southern Burma. In southern Burma, the snack is made the rice with coconut milk and the outer layer is crisp but the inner layer is soft and fluffy which is similar Thailand coconut snack. In Yangon, the snack is more crispy and it does not use coconut milk.
Regardless of the recipes are, we Burmese all love them.
