Nothing will top that. Not cheap though. All of B&O speakers are made in China. Sad. Hopefully Acura makes them do something different, but it’s to reduce costs without adding to inflation on MSRP. Acura spent a lot to have ELS. With rising costs, I can see why they are changing though. If they can cut back $1000 per car, they will. Overhead for these companies is rising too much.
This is a phenomenal car if you don’t mind the limited power and low rpm. Tuning doesn’t do much. For real HP, you need to change the heads and turbo which is not cheap and you lose warranty. Not sure if 10 speed will handle all that extra power. Acura dialed the high rpm’s back on purpose. So it doesn’t blow. They neutered it. Sadly.
Same with the Civic.. after a downpipe and tune, you're basically at the upper limit of safe power on the factory cast pistons. Especially with the ITS out and priced so closely to the TLX, it feels like they missed the mark with this one... Now if this was a manual SH-AWD, with the infotainment from the Integra/Civic, instant buy.
100 percent.
The tlx looks better and one could agree the tlx is the better daily driver. The 340i perform better but nothing else.
Tlx is cheaper by a good amount considering you can option the bmw up to 70k
@@alpe6228 I would agree the TLX looks better, but all things considered, I disagree on the M340i having nothing going for it. The interior is better, even though I hate the new iDrive 8 design, the infotainment is more user friendly (again iDrive 7 in a used model would be ideal). The suspension might be a tie, I would have to sit in both again back to back... But the B58 engine has been proven to be almost bulletproof even with mods and a tune. Tuning aside, BMW is no longer the shitboxes of the past that blow up when you look at them wrong. Actually, they rank higher than Honda/Acura now in reliability ratings.
Also want to point out, I'd choose the ITS over the 340i or the TLX, I'm not hating on Acura, just on the TLX.
Love the red seats
Whats the lifespan of an acura tlx type s? Basic maintenance could it hit 200k miles?
Just get an accord Touring... Approximately same features for reduced price
Your picture with its perspective distortion makes the car look better than it actually looks, kind of awkwardly too long in reality. I saw the previous version on the road and though how good the Acura sedan used to look.
They should put more red color in tail lights like 2024 honda accord hrv and other german brands doing
Is the audio system in this better than the infiniti q50 BOSE performance series?
Looks like the drivers side puddle light is already dead for a 2024 come one Acura it should be fixed by now I had them replaced 3 times on my passenger side.
Love Acura for this car
Rather get the new is500 w/v8
True... Until you see the interior. Lexus permanently stuck in 2009
Have you sat in both? As a guy who is wide (not fat, just wide), I don't comfortably fit in the IS. I sit kind of on the seat bolsters instead of in the seat. I haven't sat in the TLX.
@@cmasupraI have the IS500 and agree it doesn't accommodate enough body types.
@@cmasupra literally I sat in a is500 and lc500 at the Chicago auto show yesterday and I felt the exact same way I'm just wide shouldered cuz I workout a lot and I have zero breathing room for my arms it's bad.
@davelospinoso9022 true them cars look the same just newer (Lexus) lol
How do the driving dynamics compare to the Subaru WRX GT?
Going to be an insane car when turbo kits aftermarket open up. 10spd single turbo Honda built V6…..easy 700-800whp stock block you just know it lmao
I looked into it. Need to change heads and turbo. So expect to out 20k into it and lose warranty.
@@ryanb8736 I expect to lose warranty the second I go fbo and put a intake or charge pipe lmao. You know nothing, there isn’t even enough info out to base anything yet stop your foolishness
@@TankQ50I don’t see that 10 speed holding that much torque. 10 speed is not that strong. Look at all complaints in mini vans and Pilots lately. Even MDX owners complain about 10 speeds.
@@TankQ50For 10k more, you can buy an M340 which is so much better. Plus tuning is cheap and endless. Plus it can handle it with ease.
@@ryanb8736 typical b58 fan boy why do yall think just because it has a b58 that’s enough to convince a consumer smfh. I don’t care to pay for the bmw name like most b58 owners.
I noticed they changed the seatbelt chime
Would you get this or BMW M340i ?
340
Can you please do economy regular cars
Respect for the fact that this gorgeous cabin doesn’t have another iPad slapped onto it as an afterthought. The exterior though… is just bland.
Bland exterior and TLX is not something that I have ever heard in the same sentence. It’s good that there are so many different cars to choose from. Something for everyone’s taste or lack of taste, to some.
Does this feel sluggish when accelerating or does it feel fast?
Sluggish when u push it the transmission always bog the power down which is a problem it doesn’t have any peak power compare to others
did you feel any improvements in the 2024? i think ive seen a video of yours of a night drive in a 22 tlx type s
Same car with minor improvements.
Is this worth the money over a new Golf R?
Should of powertailgate for stinging power
2023 acura tlx a spec car was great til someone stole it with no key fob and without car running 🤦🏿but great car NGL gonna get same in white with more security
The shift took quite literally 2 full seconds 7:26
S3 was blinking, revs were too high to downshift. When it was available it dropped to s2 right away.
The 6 chimes on start up are really annoying
I’m 6’4 and owned three TL’s not sure this model would be roomy enough..
Halogen puddle lights really 🤨Acura
I'm trying to decide between this and a darkhorse.
Why would Acura not use the ZF-8 speed in this car?
the zf8 speed doesnt work in a fwd based chassis
Finally!
does it have autodimming side mirrors?
Is the engine sound pumped in as well? Can you turn that off if it is?
some say it is, some say it is not. I own a 21 and I feel it is not. That is what the car actually sounds like.
It actually is piped in.@@GoofieNewfie
at that price point, and this is just my opinion….I think the competition offers more in terms of luxury and power.
which competition?
Wow ambient lighting only in front cab not rear seats tho?? Sheesh that’s a shame the big 3 German brands wouldn’t cheap out like that
There's ambient lightning on the rear doors near the handles.
How tall are you? Trying to get an idea of your seat and the rear passenger room behind driver seat
He's mentioned in other reviews that he's about 5'10 or '11
@pwnranger3496 thank you! Not a car I can purchase at 6'5". Need space for passengers
For this class of car. You'd have to look at Cadillac ct5. Maybe kia stinger. Not a lot of options for back seat space
@@Historicallygamified at 6’ 2”, I have the same consideration. But I keep thinking that I’m not gonna spend any time in the back seat of my own car so it doesn’t matter as much.
When will Acura get rid of that touchpad? It's so dumb and hard to control when driving
I really wish i could afford this car.
Does the car need a RainX treatment?
Too bad they're getting rid of that wonderful ELS system. Going to B&O I think?
Hmmmm….I’m a car nerd, I haven’t read or heard that Acura is abandoning the ELS.
@@Dano-MX5 they are, and. it is a cost cutting measure.
@@pan4632the b/o is more expensive
@@pan4632it’s not a cost cutting measure. Acura gave B&O an MDX and said “make a better sound system than this”
B&O is awful. Hate their amps in every car they make. An AtoB is 950 just to get a clean signal out to go to a dsp. Only NavTV sells them. Then you can do aftermarket Mosconi amps and Focal speakers.
Awesome car
This is a phenomenal car if you don’t mind the limited power and low rpm. Tuning doesn’t do much.
For real HP, you need to change the heads and turbo which is not cheap and you lose warranty. Not sure if 10 speed will handle all that extra power.
Acura dialed the high rpm’s back on purpose. So it doesn’t blow. They neutered it. Sadly.
Same with the Civic.. after a downpipe and tune, you're basically at the upper limit of safe power on the factory cast pistons. I was really considering one but the FWD held me back and then that really stopped me from wanting it. Shame because my local dealer has one in the exact spec I'd want, with 1 mile for MSRP.
@@hhasteyou must be referring to the 1.5t Civic. Many people are over 500hp on the Type R
That’s strange, there are guys running 11s with this car after mods. Most are running low 12s with ktuner
@@drivescene6747yeah no way that's sustainable though. I highly doubt the stock type r engine can last very long making that much power
@@drivescene6747maybe I'm wrong though
How does this stack up against the Kia Stinger?
The stinger/G70 is a much better car dynamically and in power
Can someone explain "pedal dance"
I like the car, but not at that price. Wish they'd just add an AWD option to the Accord!
This or the Lexus IS 350?
