Eliminate strut suspension creaks and squeaks By lubricating the following areas with high performance silicone lubricant. Rejuvenate’s car rubber and seals. Safe to use.
Worked great. Generosity sprayed strut as videoed. Also sprayed control arm bushings AND the sterling knuckle where the steering column shafts meets steering linkage. Vehicle was sitting for.4 years on blocks, moisture dried everything out. Having a second person tuning wheel left and right so you can hear Creeking and groaning from suspension really helps direct areas to spray. Thank you!
Warning: it's NOT the normal wd40. It's silicone spray that happens to be from the brand wd40...know for it's "normal" wd40 that is more of degreaser, which is the opposite that this video is intended to show.
@@williamk9881 that was me 😂😂😂 until I took a trip to autozone and there plenty of options with wd40. It made the shit worse 🤦🏽♂️ so I bought the correct one and so far no noise. But I think it’s also time for new front suspension. This technique is just a temporary solution. $15 for the large can.
@@MrDopeSmokes Will be good for the bearing at the top, but idk if I'd put any on the shiny smooth part of the strut. IDK if anything should really be put on that. I'd guess silicone might not be too bad if it's compatible with the seals inside the strut.. nothing thick though. Most anything you put on that silver bit is just going to collect dust and erode the seals which will wear out the strut more.
Just a little tip.......heavy squeaking typically means your ball joint is worn, and or lacking grease......usually worn, which means more play = more wear = its probably going to fall out aooner or later
@@daw1st Yes you can use both. I found Silicone works better on rubber such as Strut, Bushing Rubber, Car doors hinges, etc so anything has rubber because it makes it cleaner and smoother. The normal WD40 is best to use when you have rusted stuck nut that hard to take it out, so you spray WD40 normal and leave it for few hours then it will loosen up the nut. I tried to use Silicone to remove rusted nut but its not that efficient like the normal one. I hope this helps.
Found my issue was my fault for not cleaning the bearing seat properly. I pulled it back apart and there was a tiny rock under the bearing. All fixed now.
@@weip9328 yea from which? We have changed top mounts and everything. Me and my other 4 friends also have eibach and same noise like me. So normal then
My car's susupensions had no issues and was very quite. saw scotty's video about increasing life of your suspensions, sprayed stuts's top with silicon spray and all the places shown in this video and now my car creaks like hell.
Interesting, you might have used a degreaser or a silicone that just interacted with the grease that was already there, I don't watch Scotty Kilmer's video just because of that, he likes to clickbait a lot.
@@ghostroud Yeah his videos are clickbaits and no car is good unless its his Toyota Celica. I did not use a degreaser but Silicon lubricant of WD40 company.
@@wonderwalls3565 I just used a “wd40 silicone specialist” on my bearings on the mcphersons (mazda 6 gg) there was a little hole on top of the mcphersons that my father noticed, we sprayed a bit in there and the creaking seems to have stopped, in case it reappears I’ll update you. Edit: I also sprayed the bearing from below as I tried to hit it from the bottom near the wheel.
@@ghostroud If it works for you then all good. I am never spraying any lubricant specially on shocks. they creak like old door when it becomes hot. not a single noise a day before I sprayed. My brother who has a 2016 model car said that my 2010 Elantra has better ride than his until I sprayed with WD40 silicon spray, then I sprayed normal WD40 and then I sprayed Lithium grease. I am pretty sure any place which does not have grease or the manufacturer asks us to apply grease then they do not need grease.
literally the one spot i didnt spray on my audi and i guarantee this is whats making the creaking sound cause the car sat for a few months.. will update tomorrow if it fixes it cause ive sprayed absolutely everything else
Yes, I had a squeaky gas shock absorber. Oil had gotten on to the shaft, and that got onto the rubber seal, and bingo, what a squeaky racket that created. I removed the oil from the shaft with alcohol, and then used all that I had available to fix the problem, which was a wax candle. I coated the shaft with the wax by simply rubbing it on, and bingo, the problem was gone.
@@driverman9528 Still as good as new. The gas shocks, two of them, are part of my Nitroflex exercise equipment. One is small, the other is super large and thus is about the same size as those used on cars. Anyhow, both were making a heck of a racket. It sounded so bad I was ready to give up. But they still are as good as new up to this date, thanks to the wax treatment. OK, my shocks are not related to cars, but the principle is the same, and it worked like a charm. These shocks are about 20 years old, so it sure was worth the cost of a mere candle to bring them back to life again.
I just installed a loaded strut and it's squeaky! Lol! I'll try this! I noticed the springs in the strut assembly weren't butting against the top and bottom housing stops when assembled! That's probably what's causing the squeaking!
I hate to say but I did this and it made my new struts 1000% worse 😂 got the exact silicon spray in the vid, it was barely noticeable at first… now it sounds like a creaky ship 24/7 - had some people cut up about it when I pulled into the parking lot. I’m looking on UA-cam for a solution again and this came up after months ago when I first tried it so there’s my two cents. Wish you all luck 😂
50/50 chance the noise is coming from the steering stem between steering wheel and steering rack. It's verry hard to tell the difference. It telescopes in and out and will make a noise when dry.
Was wondering if anyone knew why my brand new fortune auto coilovers (5 months) make a single, loud, coiling Pop noise when going down/up the bump on my driveway.. (VB WRX) also just started RANDOMly squeaking some days it’s fine, other days it’ll squeak for few days straight. Not in turns but on bumps or potholes
These videos are kind of pointless if they're already getting to the "fix", some people need to identify the type of squeak so they don't end up replacing an entire front end, if it's due to one component.
Here for the squeak fixes, stayed for the musical beats !
Worked like a charm, sprayed the top and bottom quite generously, turned the wheel left and right to get it in there and it’s gone. Thank you!
I'm doing this job on my car today. I've looked at a few other videos and this is the best! Thanks!
Thank you

Will silicon free do damage?

Where do I find that type of wd40
In any auto store or hardware store .

link to this lub?
Can you use white lithium?
I would thing so if it's ok on rubber.A small smear wouldn't do harm
My tahoe does alot of noise on the struts, can I add wd40?
hell yeah - empty that whole can bro
No, not the regular wd40. The regular stuff will clean out any grease you had in there, which is the opposite of what you want.
Your lubing the shock absorber there?
Does silicone attract dirt ?
6 months later and issue has not returned
Liquid Krytox
did this does not last, so i opened the cap of the strut mount and filled it with motor oil, and oiled the bottom of the spring wd40 etc does not last
Did it produce the result you wish for in the top mount cap?
Can I use penetrating oil instead?
One way to find out
No. It will attract dirt. Silicone or Graphite spray will work best and last longer.
Basically this is how to cheat the person who you are selling the car too. 😮
Can I use original WD-40
I used regular WD 40, does not work for this job
No use Wd-40 specialist silicone spray
Thanks for the late reply.
won't fix the clunky though.
