  • Rukmini Swayamvaram is a significant episode in Hindu mythology, particularly in the story of Lord Krishna.
Rukmini was the daughter of King Bhishmaka of Vidarbha and was known for her extraordinary beauty and virtues. She fell in love with Krishna and decided to marry him, but her brother Rukmi, who was a close friend of Krishna's rival Kamsa, opposed the alliance.
To prevent Rukmini from marrying Krishna, Rukmi arranged for her to marry Shishupala, another rival of Krishna. However, Rukmini was determined to marry Krishna and sent him a message, expressing her love and asking him to abduct her to prevent the unwanted marriage.
Krishna, with the help of his charioteer Daruka, arrived at the scene, fought off Rukmi and Shishupala, and abducted Rukmini, taking her to his kingdom, Dwaraka, where they got married.
This episode is celebrated as Rukmini Swayamvaram, where Rukmini chose Krishna as her husband, defying the conventions of a traditional swayamvara (a ceremony where a woman chooses her husband from a gathering of suitors).
Rukmini's courage and devotion to Krishna are revered in Hindu mythology, and their union is considered a symbol of divine love and commitment.
