Thanks for showing how to remove the fingerprint sensor and the light diffuser/camera bracket. Helped me a lot when replacing a cracked back plate for a friend.
Can you replace the glass of the camera without get out the cover back? You told that you will show how to change the glass, I search in your channel, but I can't find the video... Best Regards
Does the 3xl have 2 different types of fingerprint hardware? I felt confident after watching this video to take apart my Pixel but I have more hardware around the fingerprint housing. Other tear downs show the fingerprint sensor I have but nobody removes it from the back. There are 2 connector touch points on my motherboard that your device didn't have.
I think the nfc antenna is kept stuck on the back glass in the pixel 3 xl. Those 2 contacts are for the nfc to attach to the phone. I don't see an easy way to remove it from the back glass, so you might lose nfc unless you can find a way to replace that too.
@@dr.coconut thx for the response! I was able to peel it off. Not sure how well it will lay down on the new back. I find it interesting a lot of the main tear downs don't mention it. I was going to order a new NFC tag if this one doesn't work but I have to research it more.
I just the replaced the back glass of my pixel 3 xl but it's a little different in the back that's why I've got a little confused during replacement but I got right I guess.
Yeah I'm working on a Pixel 3 XL and it doesn't look like this because I'm trying to find a good way to remove the NFC chip without damaging it to put on a new back. I made the mistake of not heating enough and shattered the back glass. Doh... Hindsight be very very careful removing evenly and equal pressure.
