Je perds les mots, les expressions ou même le courage pour décrire ce que je ressens en écoutant ce chef-d'œuvre. Il n'y a que des lumières et des larmes sur mon visage, dans mes yeux et autour de mon âme. Merci merci Patricia.
Patricia Petibon, generalmente, ma qui in particolare, è certamente un esempio di come la vocalità possa essere al servizio di quell'ideale musicale che lo spartito suggerisce e della sua espressione. La dizione esemplare, la scansione del testo esalta ciò che Haendel ha scritto. Il tutto con una sapiente, ma discreta interpretazione, infatti, nulla richiama alla autocelebrazione, che a volte alcuni cantanti, magari per narcisismo subiscono. Qui siamo di fronte a un'artista di grande sapienza e di umiltà che non celebra certamente se stessa, forse perché talmente raffinata e intelligente che non ne ha certo bisogno.

Brava! Interpretazione molto raccolta, drammatica che non scivola mai nel patetico. La sua voce non prevale sul testo e sullo spirito del brano. L'espressione sofferta ma fiera del volto della Petibon riflette a pieno l'intepretazione di questo brano.
Many great sopranos have performed this aria but Patricia Pettibon lives it.
Very, very nice. She kept it simple. Nothing beats Handel and her interpretation is sublime. Fantastic sound from the orchestra.

Meravigliosa la scelta di lasciare che si senta appena il respiro del primo violino nell’ultimo forte orchestrale: sembrerebbe entrare poco con la musica questa ultima osservazione, ma il pathos che ne scaturisce vale ogni lacrima che esce dagli occhi commossi.

Almost unbearably sad - but Patricia's rendition makes it art. Can't thank her enough for sharing her enormous talent. It takes her a while to come out of it and become a performer on a stage once she's done.

Das ist schon schön gesungen, mir aber zu ruhig und zu wenig leidend. Da bin ich ja eher ein Anhänger der Auffassung von Nathalie Stutztmann. Zum Schluß müßte doch "La Libertá" fast ein wenig herausgellen, wie im Farinelli-Film. In seiner Ruhe hat das für mich - Ich bitte um Verzeihung - fast etwas Parodistisches. Die Dame hat aber einen wundersamen Hut und schöne Zöpfe.

Very nice but way too much vibrato. A very clear voice was critical for this aria; vibrato was considered bad taste in 18th C except for occasional ornaments. Boys actually sing it more authentically.
