How do I start networking to obtain more viewers and how can I be more active on my streams?
@@zer0_ceil chat in other people's streams and once you have a bit more of a following then reach out, for security reasons people don't network with tiny channels (not always about clout, just safety & whatnot so don't get offended, it is what it is) and host community events or engage in trends (not all trends click so do some research before you hop on em, they don't always mesh with your brand/personality).
The problem I felt watching live streaming on both platforms is that UA-cam feels cold. Twitch feels like I'm entering the streamers room and hanging out with friends. It's cosy. UA-cam had so much video spam all around me while viewing that it just felt like watching any other UA-cam content and very distracting and impersonal. They need to make a different looking visual layout for Live Streaming, so it doesn't look exactly like UA-cam when you enter the room, even though it is.
Just like how you entered different rooms in this video. Make it warm and personal when you enter someone's Live stream space.
Imagine an app that had the best of every social media site.....the killer app
I agree. The recommendations on the stream are not helpful. But they kinda dont wanna get rid of that, because if anything if you switch to another video, you stay on the platform, which is their main goal.
A big thing would be the theatre mode for streams being better with chat on the site implemented. Right now chat is kinda lost, which is a big thing for any streamer ofc.
Thanks! Testing out that SUPER THANKS feature. Love your content as always. Thanks for helping!
I literally scrolled down looking for this
Your videos always happen to be recommended to me at the right moments. Kind of scary how that happens actually... I really enjoy how transparent you are with this information and you don't have "the secret sauce" behind a paywall. All of your videos are extremely easily digestible too. Keep up the great work and thank you for the inspiration!
I love the way you change the shots in to less typical perfect ones and it yet it still looks so good and works. Really inspiring to see it done like this.
Interesting as always (I've watched your previous stuff on this, but the refresher is great!
Those lights though! You finally did them and MAN do they look good! Cannot wait to see the room finished.
I’m a mental health coach for my day job and when I started letting people know about that business during my live streams it immediately dwarfed what I was making from streaming. Off platform monetization is FANTASTIC and it also allows you to not get so caught up in the numbers of your stream when things aren’t going quite as well.
Just went through this for an hour with some folks on my Twitch stream. Thank you for all you do for the Content Creator Community!
This seems kinda random but I loved the mix between informative content and totally unrelated footage that you did with this video. It seemed even more personal than your typical videos.
One might say. That was a tip in its self.
Yeah, him showing how to light a studio while talking about monetization is a nice two-for-one!
Subbed Great video! Thanks for the info!!! Growing on UA-cam and Twitch has been so hard.
My man...This was a great vid! I've been playing the balancing game between purple and red for a while now, and after getting some info here, and new links, I think i'm going all red. Thanks bruv!
Would really love a comprehensive video on ways to sell merch. You making your own product vs POD, comparing the pros and cons of ALL the different sites (I never see anything on teespring), building your own shop, or partnering with a company. And at what point each option is right for you and your product, and when the expenses vs profits vs time tip the scales.
Love the videos! You put so much time and work into them and they make my day better
Just love your casual style in your videos
The format you have done for this video is incredible. Great content and development in addition to all the information you have given us. Amazing
Nice video. I love the way you decided to present this material while wiring the lights 😂
Great Content, always look forward to hearing your take on video creation. Streaming... Not ready for that - but that doesn't mean i don't know a resource.
Looking forward to that. :)
Great video! A possible suggestion for a future video: could you go through and describe all of the right "settings" within the "Go Live" tab on UA-cam? Things like "language and captions certification" and "recording date and location", should I be filling these things out before I go live? Would doing that potentially increase the reach of my broadcast? How many "tags" should I be using? Made for kids vs. not made for kids, should I allow automatic chapters? All of that stuff. Thanks and love your videos!
THIS!!! So much this! Please Harris.
This please!
Yes! There are so many tutorials for Twitch, but I can't find anything solid on how to do this for UA-cam
❤ I’m setting up my first streaming set up and your videos have been beyond helpful and you sort of give the viewers a , welcome to the family feel , Thanks 🙏🏼 , this is a high five.
Good luck on your journey I wish you the best 🤝
GOOD STUFF / GREAT VIDEO ESPECIALLY ON THE STREAMBEATS🔥🔥🥳
Thank you man just starting twitch and yt
i would LOVE a video from you on how to create merch and what items to stick with as a streamer/youtuber
Thankful always for your insight and advice Mr Heller. Appreciate you 👊
This helped give me some perspective of moving forward! Thank you so much!
Great video, some helpful tips. One thing you forgot or even overlooked is Sound Alerts and other 3rd party interaction. The only reason I haven’t made the jump to UA-cam is my viewers love the interaction using sound alerts when something relevant happens during stream. If UA-cam can somehow add this feature , I think most will jump ship from the purple app
While it takes more work, it’s possible to run your own bot, like Streamer Bot, to trigger sounds instead of using Sound Alerts. Specific sounds can be triggered by command or by donation amount. My Twitch subs get access to commands I call “sub sounds” that are all triggered by my bot (running on my PC).
@@DasLyfe totally agree. Get streamerbot and create your sound alerts for UA-cam. Or do it for twitch too because those third party sound alerts take a huge chunk of your profits
Commenting for the algo. Thanks for being so honest and self-less with your vids. You deserve all the success!
I'm still figuring it out what it is that I want to do but your videos sure have helped me figuring out what it is that I want to do!
Back when I first started writing my web novel series, I was fortunate enough to have numerous patrons on Patreon. At one point, I was making enough where Patreon became a third paycheck -- the first two being my part-time job where I got paid biweekly. It really helped me out and I'm still grateful to all the patrons. I'll occasionally get a patron but I never got back to my early days as a web novel author.
you do not know how relavent this video is to me right now ! I just started posting again on youtube after a year, and things seem to be going well, but I wasnt really sure what to do to capatalize on the growth that came out of nowhere
i LOVE these Harris Hangout vids. My streaming is primarily set building (lego, gunpla, book nooks, etc). I'd love to have something other than my Lego Affiliate link but I'm honestly not sure what it'd be....
This was a great well explained video!! I have battled with where I want to stream and Im like on both although I would like to stay on youtube. But the 1000 sub minimum for members is hard to reach with a full time job and not a lot of time for videos. Merch store would be so damn cool... One day maybe it will be a reality! Everyone don't stop grinding!!
Another banger thanks for the knowledge bro
Thanks for the good insight Harris!
Starting a streaming career now, in late 2022 should you start on both twitch and youtube or just one?
video couldnt have come at a better time. great stuff as always
7:40 - Heads up Harris. Elgato just released their official Lint Roller. I'm looking forward to your review.
StreamElements and StreamLabs are another donation method a ton of Twitch streamers I watch use. UA-cam creators could use it as well. I believe they don't even take a cut of the donations, so more goes to the streamer. They also have integrations that allow these donations to post stream notifications, messages, alerts, sounds, etc. Since it is currently October, a lot of streamers are offering "jump scare" donation alerts at a certain dollar amount, often 6.66 dollars for the meme.
Isn't that just the donations? He mentioned that and said PayPal takes a cut. And the integrated sound alerts take a huge portion of your profit. I would recommend setting up your own donor alerts to through streamerbot
Yoo, can you make a video on a budget streaming/gaming pc build for 2022? Like include webcam and everything and tell us why you chose the specific pieces. Maybe its a bit gimmicky from tech review youtubers but im sure you could niche it down right?
Great Video.
And yes for sure, those are definitely bowling alley lights lol.
As someone getting ready to post content again after a 6 month hiatus, this is a very well timed video
This was very insightful, for real! im currently thinking about making shorts/live streams and vods to start my channel on YT. I know you have made older videos on how to setup live streams, notifications and all ... but could you make a new one with step by step, thanks!
Just streamed with my buddy last night and realized we both have a long way to go. Still figuring out all the ins and outs. I don’t even have alerts yet!
great tips bro!
Love ur videos brotha
Been Watching Your Video Since Forever, The Confidence When You Speak, At The Same Time Gave People Confidence too, Cheers Harris :)
I'll admit I haven't been through all of your videos on the subject yet, but on the off-chance there isn't one, could you teach us how to make highlight reels for our channel? I've never made videos before, but I really want to learn-and you do such a good job of incorporating different learning styles into your teaching that I know it would make sense coming from you.
I don't think he has made one on highlights, and - I hate to be that guy but - it's really easy, there's no trick to it. You're just making bite-sized pieces of your stream that people watch... Even less than your vods. Highlights are just big clips.
What I do is stream with UA-cam videos in mind so I know certain sections of my stream will make a decent yt vid. After stream I take a few minutes to clip out one or two. Then use them for UA-cam, either posting as is, or with light editing.
If you want a guide, I bet someone like StreamScheme would have made a vid on it.
This is the blueprint. Amazing information. Subbed.
Hi Harris,
Nice video.
There are few things I think different since this year, specially ads on Twitch.
The revenue came from it is what make me able to keep streaming and getting profit.
However, I changed from livestream only to a re-run with reward system + live stream.
I see I lost the feeling of community a little, as it runs 24x7, but the incoming with ads or sponsored lives (that I can keep running for 1 to 7 days), makes it viable to keep streaming.
Do you have any study about twitch re-run to share to us?
really helpful...as always...happy streaming
I hope to one day be able to bring all of that to my own channel. As of right now I do not have in mind a product I could sell. But Im sure I could come up with something one day. Right now still trying to unlock channel monetizing. Thank you Harris for always bringing these videos out. I have watched a lot of "youtuber help" creators, but YOU have helped the most. Thank you!
Thanks for the value
Great video I think UA-cam is the present and the future, this platform is adapting to any changes to the way the new generation it’s consuming the media. Keep up bother much love 🤙🏼🔥
Watching this in the morning ☕before starting my day
thx for all the ideas
I know one day I can hit my goals and do UA-cam full time, I have to believe in myself and be smart about the content I create! Thanks for the dope advice!
Thank you for your videos and all the help.. me personally I’m sick of the toxic viewers and how they do nothing but come in a kill the chat vibes.
Banhammer them immediately.
You are so good at your craft Harris .. Sooo good
Thanks for the tips.
Hi Harris. Loved your content as always
Yes different days, or end your affiliate contract with twitch. Or just multi-stream and live with the consequences if twitch cares to catch you. What I'm going to do for the time being is LS community games on twitch, and LS less community-interactive stuff on youtube
Yes, it looks like that kit website is specifically for Amazon affiliate links
Hey engagement! Also I'm a big fan of Charlie White creating a line of plain white T-Shirts. What an obvious and great idea that was!
Hi Senpai, I would appreciate an overview of how you find sponsors or affiliates.
Thanks! I haven’t streamed in over a year, life happens, but I still use Stream Beats for relaxing and college.
As always, top tier content and info
Last night I actually did a write up for unique headphones for people with neck strain and medical issues but still keep the quality for gaming, media consumption
When I say as a content creator I really needed this video!
incredible information -- -thanks
I actually recently purchased Matti’s Sony LUT pack and I freaking love it!!
As always great video. What I want to know is how to apply all this to a 1k subs YT channel? 🤘
5:36 The electrician in me needs to tell you that is not a screw lol. It's called a lock ring!
Thanks for the quality of your video! The time and effort you are taking is precious for beginners like me. 🙏 You chose well your name as a Senpai!
Watching these videos give me inspiration and drive to try and make content that people will enjoy ❤
Im planning on putting in my 3-4 week notice to my 12hr job. And this is what im looking up lol
Do you happen to know if streaming might be a good way to get an audience should I decide to self-publish a book at some point? I'm still thinking about streaming for fun but wonder if it might one day become a secondary job.
I like your Herman Miller chair. Nice work
Thanks for everything you do!
Happy streaming!
Thanks for this! I am really hoping to find a way to allow viewers to drastically change my streaming environment through donations (from changing light colors to activating simple moving electronics). Just got to unlock Monetization first XD
You can setup regular donations from the start. And streamerbot might be a great option to help control this alert setup you're thinking of
@@Artbug Good idea. Thank you. Don't know why I've been dragging my feet on creating a donation method for so long, but I really should just set it up by now.
love those vans this dude is wearing. great color
Love your stuff
👍Great info! Thanks!
Here's a question, how do Creators figure out what an appropriate amount is to charge for sponsor spots, etc? Is that b a trial-and-error sort of thing, or is there an industry standard based on views that nobody really talks about?
Ludwig is trying to get a chrome extension up and running that's planned to work on both UA-cam and Twitch for donating and support badges and stuff.
I'm laying down the ground work for a custom PCs company. (yes, I know that business is INCREDIBLY hard to get into, and incredibly hard to do well in, but there's only like 5 major brands, and I want a cut of that pie)
Cool, hope you are successful! But btw if ya even wanna make a sponsorship deal with a larger youtuber, hit me up! Like a Gentoo Gamer spec preset n me promoting it lol idk.
Harris, are you considering getting a few rap songs into the streambeats?
Should you try to salvage a stagnant channel? Or should you just use it as a learning experience or make it a live only gaming channel and make another channel for gaming videos, blogs/vlogs channel, other interest?
I would like to see a critique and review of direct shippinv merch sites.
I have some ideas for what to do for off-stream montentization but I'm nervous to go about it since it's a very niche topic. Anyways, thanks for the video, Harris! Your videos have always been helpful in getting started with streaming/content creation.
Stream beats is what I’m using to start my channel working on my first videos now hopefully it’ll turn out good
Keep it up dude 🔥
Digital online courses. I am looking forward to that
The random Keeps ad in the middle of the episode about monetization is meta
Love your videos. Have to say that first. While I like UA-cam, cause I've streamed there before, I had to move to Twitch because I live in The Bahamas, which is not a country that is on UA-cam's list of countries eligible for monetization. This means that even if I make the 1000 subscribers, I CANNOT receive the benefits of all the things that UA-cam has to offer for streamers. I've been wanting to talk to someone at UA-cam about this. I've tweeted, emailed, instagramed, etc. I can't get ahold of someone at UA-cam who can tell me what our country needs to do in order to be eligible for monetization. I even made videos on my channel about this and tagged UA-cam in it. This is why I had no choice but to move to Twitch. Because even though Twitch is getting all this heat, they're the only ones paying.
That's bananas! Of all the changes UA-cam is making, I hope bringing monetization to your area will be one of them 🙏
Great info!
I have an idea on how I'd like to run my UA-cam channel that I've never seen anyone use before. I would love your perspective on it, do you offer any 1 on 1 coaching, tips, consultation, etc?
I used to paint 3d printed minis and sell them on etsy. sadly shipping is so expensive now that I can't afford to keep doing it. Not really sure how to combat that one...
The thing you did with intertwining filming your video with another project you think people could find interesting is genius. Well done.
I see heavy influences from Casey Neistat, not that it's a bad thing, but after watching him a lot it becomes apparent in so many content creators work. But also it gets a bit boring. Never before would that scene from Fightclub come to my mind more often, then when I watch todays social media. Everything has become a copy of a copy of a copy... I think I watched a cool video about culture referncing itself somewhere too. We can't help it, it's the way it is, but man do I wish there was more original work out there.
Gracias Amigo!
thanks alot. for a dad to understand how to guide his son!
Know I'm late to the video, what are those lights? When I look the name up I get grow lights, and I think they'd look great as part of my basement reno.
I have really missed your content
Dropping A1 knowledgably content like always, thank you !
