I think B&M had to adapt to make cheaper rides because of other manufacturers outcompeting them. I think this led to more quality issues. An ex ride mechanic was talking about how B&M used to have a 1 mm tolerance for there track and if it was off by over 1 mm they would remake the peace. Safe to say they don’t do that anymore
Umm Claremont steel fabricators in Ohio has been manufacturing B&M coasters pretty much from the start and their quality control protocols haven't changed one bit in that time so it's definitely not a manufacturing or design issue.
@@Carter-nl2i feel like it could probably be something that b&m does themselves that might damage the track after it is built with the original standards. I definitely feel tho that it was most likely a change in the standards
@@Mythical_Arena It is the fact that B&M does not want to change, they have used the same company for there wheel bogies for years and they ended up making a small change that ended up causing the rattle, and it does not matter if the ride is new, older coasters getting these bogies that are slightly different also have rattles now.
I haven’t been on any of the newest B&M’s that opened up like this but it’s a shame these are already noticeably shaking. They have to try doing the No Limits 2 Depumping trick
Honestly annoys me they even bothered to remove "Green Lantern" from SFGADV if the very strong possibility of a future B&M (multi launch in 2026 doesn't have to be a wing-launch but still). I really thought a dive would be wonderful for that front area at some point. But if it's going to start out feeling 20 years old (while ones that old get some R&R and feel near new again like Medusa in 2022), they might as well have just done some restoration and converted GL to a sit-down with a new theme. Now it's turning into "should've gotten a Vekoma" when it used to be "should've gotten a B&M" which is almost hilarious if it wasn't kinda sad. This whole "making things cheaper so more people buy" also seems kinda like short term pay off only. To be fair though to the "if everyone has one it feels less special", Batman is the best clone model out there. But "Cliffhanger" won't be if was built to be cloned with the current way of building, that's for sure. And I'd love to have one of those (Fiesta Texas coaster) near me wherever I am tbh.
I feel like there is a disconnect with enthusiasts regarding B&M. They have always been the safe and reliable manufacturer that doesn't go too crazy. They intentionally don't make their rides too extreme, yet they are often fan favorites for 95% of the people who go to theme parks. The only thing I agree that has gotten worse is the rattle, but even that I find to be blown out of proportion. Lots of other manufacturers struggle with this too, it is not easy to completely isolate a vibration like that. There are many factors, including the soil and ground, manufacturing plant, construction, etc. My point is that even if B&M is not a favorite of enthusiasts, and that includes me as well, I still believe they are arguably the single best manufacturer.
B & M is the number 1 manufacturer to me ...all Rollercoasters have a rattle but for some reason they single them out...still the smoothest and the most comfortable restraints
Being the safe, reliable, high capacity manufacturer fit them well. Getting a reputation for rattle on new coasters and unreliability like what’s happening with phoenix rising is definitely hurting them. Especially with vekoma, Mack, intamin making strides. B&M can’t afford to not be reliable at minimum.
I find it interesting that B&M is celebrated for things like Fury 325 or any dive coaster. I like the first drop on each, but then they do not do anything interesting. After that drop, I wish I could get off Fury 325 or Orion and ride something else. This is not the case with Intamin's Millennium Force and i305, I love every minute of those rides. In contrast, Diamondback is a ride I loved from the first credit. Pleasant air time for days and the ride is interesting from start to finish. Oh, and the seating arrangement is great too! It took multiple rides to appreciate Banshee and Raptor, but Afterburn blew me away from the first ride and is easily the best coaster at Carowinds. Hopefully, B&M can return to making interesting rides, but when I look at what gets praise and wins golden ticket awards, smooth and bland is all anyone wants these days. This makes it hard to blame B&M for going from innovative and fun to Boring & Monotonous.
If BMW or Mercedes developed a rattle, everyone would have something to say about it. Thoosie or not, at 20-30 mill a pop, they should be turning out a flawless product 🤷♂️
@@BlueRaptorALPHA It's straight track.. why would it even rattle? + There are barely any B&Ms with launches. Hulk has a very smooth launch, and so does pipeline.

If they make the new 2026 Dive Coaster SFOT then it will probably be their most ground-breaking coaster they've made, if it's a giga. B&Ms 4th Giga, Fastest Dive (likely) First Giga with inversions, (likely) Tallest Roller coaster in Texas. It may not be the best one they built but if it's a giga and has inversions then it definitely be their most ground-breaking.
The fact that the rattles are most noticeable on any model with wide trains and outside seating (dives & wings) has me really worried about the idea of one of those trains going 90+ miles per hour
@Normal.Coaster As it being my home park my heart just sank when I heard Dive Coaster, especially right after SFFT just got one. Dives are slowly becoming B&Ms new version of the BTR clones.
Uttery nonsense: a handfull of coaster enthusiasts has spread the voice that B&M new rides rattle and everyone else mimics the criticism. It is completely blown out of proportion. They do not need to pick up a thing: still the most reliable, best manufracturer in the industry.
Not just enthusiasts lmao. Nemesis reborn for example. Even the gp knew something was wrong. They thought it would derail. When b&m made what used to be considered a masterpiece rattley, theres an issue. Iron menace has a literal jolt in its layout. Mandril mayhem is bouncy and rapterra is visably bouncy too.

The only people who complain about the rides suddenly developing a "rattle" or vibration are spoiled brat enthusiasts who are never truly satisfied unless they can find something...no matter how insignificant to complain about. The various manufacturers in the industry DO NOT build these rides to cater solely to the desires of nitpicky enthusiasts....they build their rides with the GENERAL PUBLIC in mind as the general public is the target demographic audience of the entire industry rather than the spoiled brat enthusiasts.
You are almost absolutely right. Seriously, the amount of whining and "this is rough" or "this is janky" because something isn't 10/10 smooth is pretty ricioulous amongst enthusiasts. Even worse is when something that's still 7/10 is getting removed and the enthusiasts are like "good riddance" while their fastest speed intense coaster that's highly overrated is worth crying over. HOWEVER, it doesn't change B&M's standards have dropped, and that's just not good. 30 year old coasters shouldn't feel newer than ones built in the last few years. That's the issue that is being brought up specifically with B&M lately. I really don't like it, I would rather still beable to ride Green Lantern (but pls with sit-down seats not stand up) at SFGADV if the next coaster is like a B&M launch that feels the same as it did in like 2010- when it was transported on top of it b4 it was GL.

B&M makes a handful of not-so-great coasters in the past few years and the community is quick to go into doom mode about the future of the company.

I'd say Intamin, RMC, and possibly Vekoma with all the bangers they've been blasting out
