I remember both these stories well. It’s infuriating that Peterson has been granted a new opportunity to escape prison. All too often, crime in California goes unpunished.
I honestly believe that killers of loved one should never be mentioned on gravestones. Thanks for highlighting these two murders Jeff. RIP Laci and Chandra.
I had never thought about that until I saw this video. I agree. Laci would have possibly left Scott if she found out about Amber. She most likely would have taken back her maiden name and named Connor that way, too. Scott Peterson deserves no acknowledgement!
Hi Jeff, This story of Laci and her unborn baby Conner hits home my Dad and I built a brick hearth for Dennis Rocha, Laci's father in the 80's with Laci and her brother playing around us Dennis was never the same after this event. Whom would be? Oh my dad built the brick columns that line the front of Burwood Cemetery. RIP Laci, Connor, Dad.
I lived over on Roble in the early 2k's and I had my run ins with the Peterson's. Typical neighborly things, Laci would walk the dog at the park or trails nearby and she was a sweet young woman a bit older than I was. Scott on the other hand was an asshole, bigshot salesman with a new truck, hitting up the bars, I'd see him at the range on Yosemite from time to time he was an arrogant prick who belonged at Donobys. I was at work when I heard the news she was missing, both me and my buddy George (he lived nearby on Miller) had a suspicion, but not until he was caught trying to run off to Mexico a few months later was our suspicion confirmed.
I know what you mean. about Scott. my husband had work for the M.P.D. many years ago and still had friends on the force. Scott was a suspect right away and you weren't the only ones to suspect him. my husbands friend asked how to tell if he had taken his boat to the bay. he told him to check the engine on his little boat for sea water residue and they found what they were looking for. it was a long horrific investigation and Miss Frey was very courageous to come forward and work with the police to gather more evidence.
One thing i find weird especially after seeing the newest documentary on Netflix about the lacy case. That it seems like lacy had friends coming to help and talk good about her. But i havent seen anyone come and talk about scott. Except his family
I was a bailiff in San Mateo County when Scott's trial came through. Watching and listening to the case each day, I really did have my doubts about his guilt. That was until his defense attorney brought Scott's boat in to show the jury. After seeing the boat and the man made anchor's, that doubt left my mind. I think Scott's attorney felt the same way because, the boat and those anchor's were never received in evidence nor did the jury ever see them.
The house across the street from the Peterson's was robbed the week prior to Laci going missing and on the day Laci disappeared she was seen standing out in the road with her dog talking to a couple of latino men. They were seen standing next to a white van that fit the description of a van seen in the neighborhood during the time of the robbery. Laci's dog was later found the same day roaming the neighborhood on a leash. There's also a jail phone conversation recording from someone else discussing a robbery and a pregnant woman getting killed that was highly suspicious.
Really? The man put himself at the exact location where the bodies were found, and you had doubts? I can’t believe you were in law enforcement. Did you ever work the field, detectives? Or did you did you sit in court all day with weekends and holidays off?
@@gartwilliams3347 30 years of service I did it all. But it's clear to me you have no clue how laws, both civil and criminal work. There is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt (criminal) and preponderance (civil). One needs to be be proven, without constance media coverage and their propaganda narrative. The other, need only needs a little weight to be proven (he was there / in the area). If you read my review, I weighed the case and the evidence I saw first hand and came to my conclusion. I encourage you to take and oath of office (any) and give your time and maybe your life to defend to the constitution, including the free speech you typed out. But, until you've walked in my or any other law enforcement shoes, you don't get to question my work ethics, my integrity or my reasoning for my comments.
I will never forget her father bent over in anguish begging for her back. Just absolutely gut wrenching watching that press conference. The despair in Laci's parents faces. Love her parents. Can not imagine what Mrs. Rocha is going through. Will never forget Laci's big beautiful smile.
I remember both of these cases like it was yesterday ! So tragic for both ! To think that Conner would be a 20 year old young man now. I can't believe that Scott's case will get a second look with all the evidence from the 1st trial. Mind boggling !!!
Yeah, I was watching the news this week and they kept saying there was new evidence, but they didn’t disclose what that evidence was. It’s just using that old theory that the burglars who were in the neighborhood, snatched her up and killed her. That has never been proven. By the way, I was working on this video before I heard about the innocence project taking the case.
I know one of the lead investigators in the Peterson case. He said he was interviewing Scott right after Laci's disappearance. He said Scott was contacting Amber during his interview. He told me Scott was one of the coldest sociopaths he had ever had to deal with.
I remember how initially Laci's family stood by Scott Peterson and grieved with him. But as things unfolded, they distanced themselves from him. Thank you for your informative videos, Jeff.
That's sort of like the Jeffrey Macdonald case in 1970. He killed his pregnant wife Collette, they had 2 little girls. ( Kimberly and Kristen) he murdered them too. Collette 's parents supported Jeffrey Macdonald at first too. Until things about their murderers didn't add up. Then Collette 's parents helped to put Jeffrey Macdonald behind bars. Where he still is to this day. Look it up, it's a very interesting story
Thank you, Jeff.....I had almost forgotten about Chandra Levy, so I appreciate the fact that you brought her horrible death back to my memory. Now, Laci, who can forget that horrible crime? It makes me sick that The Innocence Project is trying to prove that despicable Scott's innocence. Rest in Peace, Chandra, Laci, and Connor.......may your murderers never have Peace.
I remember when both happened, can't believe its been 20 years. I've always heard Peterson is serving his time in San Quentin. You did great telling their stories.
To be honest, I am surprised Scott Peterson hasn't been killed in prison. Thanks for keeping these two extremely sad stories alive. Another moving history lesson, Jeff. Thank you.
They put him with the "sensitive" population if you can believe that! We had the chance to get rid of him, but like Jeff said nobody dies on death row in CA. It's ridiculas!! That creature is pure evil.
Thanks Jeff. I had forgotten about Chandra Levy -- I lived through that time. Laci back in the news is heartbreaking. I would be pleased with your presentation if I were part of either woman's family, as well as the Attorney's. Lovely recognition of their lives.
Very sad stories. I grew up in Modesto and moved away a long time ago. At the time of Laci’s disappearance my brother told me of once talking with Scott at Minnie’s and Scott complained non-stop about his wife. My brother told him if he was so unhappy to get a divorce. Unfortunately, my brother has since died and I have more questions for him. In the summer of 1972 I met Gary Condit who was at the time running for mayor of Ceres. What an asshole. Love your History Hunters videos!
the only time we saw Gary was at the Ceres Cemetery on Memorial day.. his wife Caroline usually came with her father in law who would give the benediction as he was a local pastor. Gary's house was down the street and their yard backed up to a local church. the press were out there in the church parking lot for weeks staking out the Condit's house.
Thank you for the memorial, I cannot believe it has been 20 years! I remember when this story became headline news. I think Laci's parents believed Scott's story at first, until her body was found. The story that her mother told about Scott not wanting children and Laci getting pregnant regardless, does shine a light on what was going on in that house. I wonder if Laci found out about Scott's affairs and thought having a baby would fix their problems? I do not know why someone like Scott would get married at all since he enjoyed sleeping around. Thank you for the video.
What blows my mind besides the gull of some murdering people is that 20 yrs passed already since Lacy's death. R.I.P. to both Women❤ & thanks fo posting this video Jeff & Sarah. Work well done.
I live in Modesto and was pregnant with my oldest at the same time that the Laci was missing. I identified with the protectiveness she must have felt to protect Connor and it broke my heart. I personally believe Scott to be guilty as I never heard him speak about the loss of his child. He was so disconnected from both of them. She deserved so much better.
I read earlier in the week that the Innocence Project was taking on Scott Peterson's case. It is my opinion they won't find anything that proves his innocence. The investigation back in 2002-2004 was very thorough and damning toward Peterson. Thank you for bringing this history back to the forefront since there is interest in Peterson's case again. We must never forget Laci and Conner were the true victims....not Scott. Also...Chondra Levy...such a sad sad story. I actually did a 5K run in that very same park right around the time she came up missing but before she was declared so by her family. I can see how anybody could hide in the woods around the jogging trails there. After Chondra's case hit the 24 hour news cycle, I never went back to that park to jog ever again.
The way you spoke about the two girls was not only respectful but also showed they mattered. Thank You for your views and thoughtful words. A Grandma from Kansas !!
Hi Jeff! Funny how history you post brings back so many memories for me. I remember both of those cases very well. Several things were uncanny in your video. You mentioned Downey High, I went there one year, then over to Beyer High. My Dad's brother lived 4 streets over from where Laci lived. In your video of the court room, I saw one of my cousins that was a sheriff working the court room. Finally, as you shot the Lakewood Cemetery scene, behind you, the tall pine trees in the distance, are the graves of my mom and dad. You sure hit home on that video. Such tragic events and you covered them well. Sorry those happened that you had them to cover.
Thanks for highlighting these events. They happened during a difficult time for me - my wife passed away from cancer in November 2001. I remember the news on these events but obviously I was distracted!
I appreciate how your loss would have kept you from focussing on these cases. My wife's father died the same day in Stanislaus County (from cancer) as the day that Laci was killed, assuming that she was murdered Dec. 24, 2002 and not the night before.
A very sad day for Modesto, you did a fine job of telling the public about the tragedies that occurred Jeff, many people not from our area may not be fully aware of the circumstances of these crimes. if they didn't know then, they know now.☹
Thank you so much for remembering Chandra & Laci. Such tragedies. My heart goes out to those families. The memory of these incidents is still pretty vivid…we didn’t leave until 2005 but still followed the stories. 💔 Thanks Jeff…your biggest Tennessee (formerly California) fans…
@@stevevalley2784 you don’t know what that means to me. Brings tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for telling me that. Sorry for your loss. Your dad sounds like he was a great guy too.
Two agonizing cases. Was riveted to each when they occurred. Thank you for telling their stories. I remember watching Scott Peterson on a channel 2 interview and when it ended the camera froze on his face before it went to the next story. I will never forget the evil in his expression in that freeze frame. It was almost like he said ok the interview is over, (very sympathetic sob story), so now my true personna is back. It gave me the chills as somehow it came through that he was a very evil person and I positively KNEW he was guilty. I told my wife this at that time (I'm signed in on her UA-cam account). When the story about the innocence project showed the other day she reminded me of that moment. Very chilling! Thanks for yet another great posting Jeff. Thoroughly enjoy your content.
My brother lives in the neighborhood where Laci lived, and often walks his dog at that same nearby park. Such a sad story. I feel so bad for her parents. Like you, I will never be able to understand how a person can do what Scott Peterson did. As I recall, he never looked or acted like a grieving widower. I think there's a special place in hell reserved for people like that. At the time of the Chandra Levy case, the person who was my boss at the time lived just down the road from Gary Condit. She said it was horrible trying to get in and out of her driveway with all the newspeople there.
Another great video, Jeff. There is a lot of valley history I never put together growing up in Fresno. You tell these stories with wonder and they amaze me.
I went to high school with Chandra. We had an English class together. I didn't know her well, but I remember her face. It was quite surreal to see her in the news that year and on all those headlines. Quite a tragedy that these two people died so young.
Dear Jeff, I can tell how heart wrenching this was for you to tell, you did such a wonderful job! Thank you for sharing their stories in such a wonderful manner!♥️♥️♥️😔
Hey Jeff, great video! What a coincidence, We were just there to visit Laci’s grave only a few days ago, and we then went to Lakewood memorial that same day to visit some family. What a tragic story for both Laci and Chandra. Great video once again shedding light on tragedies we often forget.
@@jbenziggygood vid Jeff. But how is adding GPS coordinates any different than what you’re doing? You’re videoing the gravesite, naming the cemetery and location, and posting it for thousands to see. I would take your advise with keeping matters private, as what you are doing is not only the same thing, but is worse than adding GPS coordinates.
These are very heartbreaking stories. Their lives were cut short in horrible ways. We can only honor them by remembering their beauty and contributions.
Oh Jeff. This was the hardest story I've seen from you.---On a lighter note, I was happy to learn of Harve's ties to the community. My folks were in Aspen the summer of '65, at a summer seminar for teachers (what a magical time for this 14 y/o!), and we went to the old theater to see The Unsinkable Molly Brown (Leadville was just over the pass from Aspen), & I was in love with Harve's voice ever since. I own the record (used to know all the words by heart, I listened to that record so many times!). I still occasionally pull up the Call the Wind Maria just for the sheer glory of seeing him & listening to that haunting melody. It was a shock to see him age, & when I first saw him on an episode of Star Trek Voyager, it took me quite a few stumped minutes to figure out why that character looked and sounded familiar! And of course, don't forget his role in FARGO.
Great job as usual Jeff and Sarah. Living in Stockton at the time, these stories struck close to home. It is a sad commentary on society that this very situation plays out day after day, just without the media attention.
Thank you for this episode!! Both tragic horrific murders of these beautiful women and little Connor. Jeff , excellent, compassionate video! Bringing attention to the evil men that committed these murders.
I remember both of these cases. Two radio talk show host here in Southern California covered the cases every day. One of which appears on your video, the guy with the bullhorn. Jeff, your summery of these events were spot on. Unfortunately, Chandra Levy's case may never have closure. And Laci Peterson's case being out again. Another well-made video, thanks Jeff.
Thank you so much for giving us the information in this show. Even here in Texas, we were seeing and reading information about these cases. Fantastic work Jeff!
Wow, I would have thought the house might have been bulldozed. Couldn't imagine living in a house where something this awful happened. Such a sad story. I'm pretty sure he is guilty.
There would definitely be a creep factor in living in a house where someone was murdered, assuming she was murdered there. He probably suffocated her while she was asleep. I cannot imagine the evilness required to take someone out like that. It's heartbreaking Scott didn't love his wife, who should have been treasured!
@@jbenziggy I moved into a condo in 2010 where the original owner was murdered in 1992. He was a fireman who was also dealing in drugs, he was killed by one of his partners. His girlfriend was the one who found him dead in the hallway. A neighbor, who heard the screams of the girlfriend and saw the body of the fireman, told me the story. I never had any bad vibes from the place, but I am pretty sure it was haunted. I did see a figure of a man with a white mist about him. I really wanted to buy the condo when the owner put it up for sale, but we could not agree on a price.
The cemetery where Laci and Connor are buried is beautiful and serenely peaceful. It is on River Road with an Escalon Address. The traffic sounds are alarming to me: I lived on River Road in Oakdale, a mile or two East of the cemetery. It sounds like River Road has a lot more traffic than it used to....but traffic is definitely off the tragic topic at hand here.
Thank you for presenting this so beautifully. I’m disturbed by the recent stuff I see of Scott. I try to be unbiased in matters like this but I watched all of it. Modesto is a special place to me. I didn’t know Chandra was also from the area. I knew the Congressman was.

Its hard to believe its been over 20 years already. Thanks HH for what you do.
Tell me about it! Thank you so much for the nice comment.
@jbenziggy I lost my Dad in August, and every time he watched one of your videos, he would say, "I like him he's a good guy," I would agree.
@@stevevalley2784 you don’t know what that means to me. Brings tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for telling me that. Sorry for your loss. Your dad sounds like he was a great guy too.
Thank you, Jeff have a great week & say hello to Sarah for me.@jbenziggy
Very moving video today , so sad . May those 3 people rest in peace . Thank you .
I remember both of those cases very well. I'm in-between Modesto and Fresno, so both stories hit close to home 😢
Right in the middle of it. Scott kept the road hot down 99!
Thank you Jeff fr sharing these two stories. I remember these sad stories very well. 😢
You are very welcome. I appreciate you watching and the comment!
Another great video, Jeff. There is a lot of valley history I never put together growing up in Fresno. You tell these stories with wonder and they amaze me.
I appreciate the positive words for our efforts! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for watching, as hard as this is to understand.
Jeff, as always, you out did yourself. I remember these 2 stories.❤
Thanks again!
Hey Jeff, great video! What a coincidence, We were just there to visit Laci’s grave only a few days ago, and we then went to Lakewood memorial that same day to visit some family. What a tragic story for both Laci and Chandra. Great video once again shedding light on tragedies we often forget.
I heard the family wants the GPS coordinates off the page. Not sure his true this is though.
@@Nickolus-bc6gq I wasn’t chastising anybody for placing a GPS coordinate on findergrave.com. I was just sharing information.
Thank you for your stories. Very well told.
Very well done with much respect....thank you
Thank you too!
So sad! Thanks! You're very compassionate when you tell these stories. I just found your channel and I can't stop watch. Very well done. 21:47
Welcome to our channel! So glad that you found us and like our content!!!
These are very heartbreaking stories. Their lives were cut short in horrible ways. We can only honor them by remembering their beauty and contributions.
Excellent post. Thank you for all the research you have to do.
Thanks for watching!
My hometown!!!! Born and raised in Modesto ❤
Me too!!
I recall these two cases. They truly are tragic. Thank you so much, Jeff for your coverage of these horrific cases.
😔🙏🏻🙏🏻
We remember hearing the coverage of both of these ladies. Thanks for showing their grave sites and bringing it back to light. Both gone too young.
Too young indeed! Thanks for watching and helping to remember those poor women.
Remember the tragic cases well and the emotions that come with it.
Thank you for the stories of remembrance ❤
Thank you for this episode!! Both tragic horrific murders of these beautiful women and little Connor.
Jeff , excellent, compassionate video!
Bringing attention to the evil men that committed these murders.
I appreciate the nice compliment, Tammy. If only the men of the world would value their women.
Well done Jeff, another great video, remembering 2 lovely ladies who died in terrible circumstances.
Great research as always Jeff, 2 very sick cases that shocked the country! Your honoring these 3 victims was very well done.
Thank you for showing these graves and giving them exsposer
You bet! Thanks, Barbara!
I remember those tragic incidents. Excellent work on this video
Thank you, Kellie!
Thank you, Jeff. I think you presented the facts very well and very professional as far as how to handle both these tragic deaths.
Hello Jeff, What a sad story. Thanks for sharing and remembering their lives. I hope justice is served. May they rest 🙏 peace. Have a great Sunday
Thank you Jeff hope you’re doing well.
Thanks, you too!
Wow. I just came across this video. You were so thorough in the presentation of both cases, yet also kind and compassionate. You got my sub.
Wow, thank you! We appreciate the nice feedback! Welcome!
Good job on this vlog! Thank you. Very tragic
Thank you Jeff, two stories that shouldn't happen
The cemetery where Laci and Connor are buried is beautiful and serenely peaceful. It is on River Road with an Escalon Address. The traffic sounds are alarming to me: I lived on River Road in Oakdale, a mile or two East of the cemetery. It sounds like River Road has a lot more traffic than it used to....but traffic is definitely off the tragic topic at hand here.
Thanks Jeff. One of your best videos to date.
I appreciate the nice words you had for me! Surprisingly it didn’t take me a long time to put this one together.
Thank you for presenting this so beautifully. I’m disturbed by the recent stuff I see of Scott. I try to be unbiased in matters like this but I watched all of it. Modesto is a special place to me.
I didn’t know Chandra was also from the area. I knew the Congressman was.
Great channel! Keep up the tremendous work! You speak so much truth and common sense about these tragedies.
Thanks for sharing. In lust rarely does one ever stops to think of the consequences of how it affects all those around them or themselves. Thou shall not want...thanks again😊
Thank you for your respectful coverage of these 3 tragedies
😭💔
Absolutely riveting. Thank you Jeff for yet another amazing flashback piece. R.
Thanks for listening!
Thank you for such respectful presentations. Terribly sad these 3 lives taken to allow these men to move on to their next conquests.
Very sad, but as always, you did a great job.
Thank you!
Rest in heaven Chandra Ann Levy 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🌹🌹🌹🌹😇😇😇😇 rest in heaven Lacy & Conner .
I remember both of these
Cases thanks for keeping

This is my first time watching your video.❤❤❤❤so sad👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
These videos are such a tragic reminder of just how many crazy people there are in the world. Thank you for sharing.
I remember both of those cases very well and followed reports on the news and online !!
How tragic the loss of those two young women !
You covered this very well , we should remember these two young folks !

Horrific, RIP to them , Thanks for sharing
Thank you jeff! You gave these victims beautiful voice. You brought tears to my eyes with the beautiful tribute. Thank you
I for one would really appreciate more stories from you. I have subscribed to your channel! Thank you.
Thanks for subscribing! More videos are coming!
Thank you sir for this great report!
Love the video this week. I remember hearing about both, but didn't follow either that close. You did a great job of storytelling them.
Thanks so much!
Beautiful cemetery and your stories are awesome, I’m in my 70s and remember all of the grief in this stories. I truly enjoy watching from Indiana, but born in San Francisco
Thank you so much, Claudia. So since you’re from California, how do you like it in Indiana?
Thank you so much for making this video!!! Very respectful and May them all Rest In Peace ❤
You’re welcome. Thank you, Kelly!
This happened when I was like 12 and had just moved into the Modesto area from the Bay Area. I remember seeing her missing person sign posted everywhere we went. When I grew up, I knew kids who had said she was their substitute teacher.
Thanks for covering! …especially now since the innocence project took Scott Peterson’s case.
I remember both cases. Very sad. These really had a huge impact on many people. As always, your story telling is spot on. I can see the impact they have on you. Thanks for telling these sad stories...
