This is one I haven't seen before. Gonna have to try it on this braid I have it's super slick and so hard to tie a good knot. But I think this'll do the trick!
62 yo with onset of cataracts and rheumatoid arthritis. This has become my favorite for tying on a new leader in the field. But I always start out with an FG knot.
I just started using J Braid for my surf fishing instead of power pro that I use bass fishing. J Braid is slicker but makes knots harder. I’ve never seen this before I’m excited to try it , so much easier than the FG and Double Double Uni/ Blood Knot/ SD jam knot or whatever name you call them lol
Switched to this knot after I had a few lures fly off because I had tied the FG poorly. I saw Luke had noted that it was surprisingly strong but never saw a it’s actual breaking strength test. I am curious to know how it would against double uni.

THAT looks a LOT easier, on the water, than the one I'm using (Crazy Alberto) and looks stronger. Us old farts can't see all that well... LOL. I know Luke like the FG but it's a super pain in the rump (at any location). SIMPLICITY, right?
I’m a bit confused about this technique being called a surgeons knot because I work with surgeons and they do not tie knots like this. Would someone please explain the history behind this. Thank you. 😊❤

I've been searching for a different knot than the FG. Slick braid and old eyes makes knot tying a challenge especially in the water. Thanks Pat

Love this knot been using it for a couple of years saw Gerald Swindle tie this on utube great knot but do not use less than 5 pass throughs
