I'm just starting on my Silverado Trail Boss. Installing the bed rack and hard shell rooftop tent this weekend. ARB fridge for the back and just picked up my kitchen kit. Nice to see you Alberta Boys enjoying your rigs. New sub from Ontario!
I found your channel today because of this video. I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 Ext. Cab 4x4 with a 6.5' bed. It is still stock. I do have a camper shell on the back. Bought it used with a broken out back glass. However, I am looking and researching for ideas so I can go camping and hit some trails with a local overlanding group. My brother is a member of the group. he has a 2012 Toyota FJ. Just a few months ago I helped him build a camp box for the back of his FJ. That is also sparking my interests on build out my truck to start going out on adventures. I do like the tent idea for the back of the truck. He mentioned having a zipper sewn on after cutting. Where did he install the other half of the zipper? Or does he just use the tent straps to attach to his truck.
Never mind about the zipper. I went back and re-watched that part. It was to have the fly sewn back on after cutting. My hearing loss plays tricks with me😂
at the end off your video i see you guys on the winter road to 6 lakes richardson backcountry...what lake did youguys stay at?we should plan a trip up there, ive been there a good 20 times on quad but finally built a overland truck and trailer id love to get some other trucks to go up with
@@OverlandAlberta ok I ended up watching your next video and seen twin lakes... Next time you'll have to pack more gas and go further north... You didnt even get to see half the beauty of that area it's hands down one of the most beautiful peaceful areas I've been but need to go further north to see those areas... I'd love to plan a trip further north if you'd ever be interesting in doing so

Awesome!! Those hard shell tents are pretty cool. Thank you for the sub! Send me some pics of your rig when you are done
I like the idea of chopping the truckbed tent up to get a good entrance/exit.
It worked pretty well.
Where did he buy the tent? I can’t understand what he said.
Great truck
ya...it is a cool truck! it has inspired me to do a full size build of my own!
Nice rig, saw him pulling out of the Nordegg gas station this weekend.
Ya, it's a nice rig for sure

Happy you found the channel. Can't wait to see what you do with your Chevy. Hope to see you on the trails 😁
Topper ez lift makes a good pre made solution for the tent ext. in the bed. Nomad camper
Those ez lifts are pretty cool
Nice truck. Can you please give me the name of the place where he purchased his mattress and camper extension tent
Canadian Tire I believe it was.
This is video is a masterpiece:)
Thank you!
Overland Alberta your welcome ;)

We ended up staying at Twin Lakes. Camped at the Peninsula that goes out into the lake.

Haha.....I am always down for a great camp out! Rain or shine 😁
What front bumper is that? I cannot believe he skipped it lol
I believe it is a Magnum bumper. Not sure if they are still making bumpers anymore

Oh yeah bud. I really like sleeping next to da gas tanks dare? Nice though. I have a 15 sierra with the ARE topper and sleep in it when I travel.
Ya, adding the topper seems to give you a good place to sleep for sure.
Nice truck. Wonder what manufacturer makes the bumper ?
I believe it was a magnum bumper. I will have to ask Rick

Link on bumper?

This is more realistic overlanding. I don't want a 2,000 bumper to smack a rock and get ruined.
Ya...he used that truck well.
Put a few dents in it on some tight trails
Aaaaaa!
Ehhh!
