Found your channel from watching you build that silverado! I will miss seeing that content for sure. Im excited to watch your new build as well. Just glad you'll be posting more videos!
Love the setup man! Your vids inspired me in many ways on my Supercharged Silverado Build! Awesome job man keep it up! 40 days on the road as of today! (Just did from moab to lake Powell in your footsteps!)
I'm just starting on my 2020 Custom Trail Boss. Starting with the basics first. I got a Putco Venture Tec bed rack, I got a hard shell roof-top tent from FSR X trail (Canadian company), ARB fridge and a cooking kit. I am looking to jump up to 34ish" tires next so I shouldn't need an additional lift (beyond the factory 2") and have been looking at the bed organizer/storage system from "Decked". Looking for some Chevs for ideas!
A properly built and outfitted 4x4 Chevy Suburban rules the Overlanding world supreme, for soo many reasons that I couldn’t begin to cover. Think and build carefully. Ever camp in Grizzly bear country? :)
Nice truck.. I was in the market for a replacement truck recently and I did check out Silverados. However I didn't go for them because there was one thing that I don't see mentioned much when comparing these trucks. In the Chevy and Gm trucks, I feel like you are seated low in the cab, like in a sedan; even though you put the seat position as high as you can. For me, IMO doesn't make for good visibility when going off road. Maybe that is just me, but the moment I sit in a Ford or a Ram I feel like I'm seated in a high commanding position that I can see well over the hood, etc.
Really bummed to see this one go. I have a 2016 that I want done EXACTLY like yours.... actually reached out to you on Instagram last year asking about the build. Your a super cool guy with an awesome truck and rad knives. Always wanted a crew cab square body myself, so I won't be going anywhere. One thing: post as many vids on that new truck as possible. Can't wait to see what you did to it
Great looking truck. The weight is what killed my last build. Sounds like same as yours? Keep it light is what I'm going for this time around with an 04 Silverado.
@@matthewschiebout7384 I don’t see any advantage to having a heavier 2500 for serious off-roading. The 2500 is a more for towing and will wind up getting stuck more. Power isn’t what gets you unstuck as any Silverado has plenty
Are you gonna stay chevy? I recently subscribe coz you're the only one i can find who overland with silverado. I got a 2020 and looking for some ideas for overland build.
Hello dear, I really liked the design of the bed rock for the vehicle in particular and the design of the vehicle in general, so I would like you to help me to make the bed rock for my 2009 model Silverado. Do you have any way to contact the company that designed the bedrock ? With best wishes and hope to communicate with you
During your research did you come across the 8.1 vortec/Allison? If so, your thoughts. I currently have a 01 ex cab short bed that I'm slowly building on as time and $ allows. Odometer is at 262+k, regular maintenance, drive like new and gobs of torque, synthetic, 255/85r16 for now but looking for H2 take offs to run 35's Leveled with trimming. Been down some comparable forest roads as yourself. Just wanted to know your thoughts and share my rig experience
Just found your channel, I have a 17 Silverado myself that I am slowly building. You didnt show any interior mods in this video, looks like you have a ram mount cell phone holder, just curious how you have that mounted in your truck. Looking forward to seeing your new build!
@@LostSasquatch cool, thanks for the reply. You wouldnt have any pictures of your ram mount, would you? I had mine on a suction cup mount between the steering wheel and the A pillar but I installed the GM drivers assist handle so there really isnt any room for it. I was thinking of doing a sticky mount on the dash between the steering wheel and radio.
Whats up man, any advise for my 16’ 1500. I got 35s, leveling kit and it rubs but on the inside as opposed to outer side (cant do nor cal mod). Looking straight the rub is on inner bottom right side when turning. Hope I made sense. Thanks
Depending on your rims, you can change up your offset and backspacing. That will push the tire out. But might then cause you issues on the outside lip while turning.
New to the channel. I have an 06 Silverado. Starting to mod out to keep it an everyday driver, but make it overland ready. How long did it take for you to make the custom rack system?
Instead of buying a new truck why didn’t you have the trans gone through, billet converter, red eagle clutches, kolene steels, billet bypass valve, and an aux cooler. That setup wouldn’t overheat or let you down
LOL. Who is this guy?? Last video post was 8 months ago. I heard he started a basket weaving business in his backyard.... or maybe it was knives... :-) JK! Great to see something other than a Jeep or Tacoma again!! I feel your pain on trying to find aftermarket parts and upgrades. I have a 2018 F150 SuperCrew that I've been trying to build. Finding aftermarket stuff is just crazy stupid hard. Team a full size truck with the fact that I have a 3.0L power stroke diesel and people just hang up when I call. Good new is, my now perfected internet research skills might get me a "how to" gig on Skill Share. lol. I've also had some great local south FL fab shops help as well. I'm almost there!
Haaaahaaaaa! I'm staying with my 2008 silverod ! You have to put oversize transmission cooler on those 4L60 on up ! UUUU have to get tuner on dash to tell you what Your Rodo wants to communicate to Uuuuuu! Like hey baby your over heating my Vaginia so slow the strokes down sweetie ! I have Edge on dash for last 8 years and I'm updating. Every year you have to give your Baby a tune up . I mean pull the plugs replace them with new , plug wires , airfilter . Change your oil regularly. Check your rear end fluid. Change it . I'm running 4.56 gears . Stage 2 Transmission. Rebuilt 5.3 with big cam , springs . It has used back vacuum out the valve cover I thinking how I can use that for ? Massive vacuum. The 5.3 is running over 400 hp it actually almost burnt my transmission so the 28 000 lb cooler from Australia keeps it cool . 175 out there in Texas heat . I just took 9ff my mickey tumb 295 65 18 foor some 295 70 18 Nitto all terrian and it rides like a Benz . I'm looking to put 6.2 in there next year .
Finances are different for everyone. Theoretically, you could both have the same income, but one could have higher or lower revolving debts. $40k a year for a family of 4 can be much different than $40k a year for 1-2 people. There's too many factors that play in to things like this. Do you live at home? Do you have children? Assuming a two parent household, do you both work? You see how this could be endless?
stoked to see the new build, always love seeing another chevy guy in the off road world
great trucks! this was a lot of fun to build but excited for a new chapter
Silverado should be off-road anyway. Along with all the other features of course like towing etc.
Just saw your channel. Although I’m not a Chevy guy I do love the full size rig. So much more capable than people think. Awesome.

Def more videos. Staying in the Chevy family with the new truck so should be fun.
whoa!!!! where you been my friend? nice to see a vid and update.
I know. It was a while. But I’m back. I already have another video in the making!
Nice to see a Chevy 1500 doing these kinds of things. All you see out there is jeeps jeeps!
Heavy yeah! Haha 🤜🏽
Super dope build. Watching your build is making me want to build out my Silverado. Excited to see the new C30 build
Thanks man!!! Should be a fun one.
Cool man, definitely like that spare tire setup.
Hopefully will see that new build rolling around Santa Ynez Valley soon.
Yes!!
Good to see you posting truck stuff again!
Getting back into it.

Damn good looking truck! Please keep up the videos. Cheers 🍺
Will do.
Sick Build! Im currently building an F150.✌️
Nice!
Damn, that's a sick build! Super sad to hear it go, but I look forward to seeing your future build! Got that gold touch 👊🏾
Thanks man!
Nice seeing another Chevy fullsize offroad! Giving me some ideas for my Trail Boss
What a great build... thanks for sharing
My pleasure. It is a fun one.

Like ur vids and truck keep it up
U can fit 37 on stock level kit 12.5 on -9 offset that what I got on my 18 Sierra with little plastic cut
Damn yo, it had been a minute. Glad your back, sorry to see the Silverado go but excited to see whats next for ya.
finally got time to edit one together. New chapter is going to be fun.

lets keep these videos going!
A lot more videos coming 😉
Wish there was more support for my 03 Tahoe..
Yeah always tough to find parts for these kinds of vehicles.
Hey, I love the build! The build list link is no longer working. Is there anywhere I could still find it?
Going to miss the Silverado but definitely looking forward to the new build. Will you strip it down and part out the upgrades or sell it as is?
🤜🏽 and yeah I took the truck down to just bumpers, suspension and tire already. I’ll eventually sell it like that when I’m ready.

no, you killed it. Start with a 2500

I want that falken decal on fender. Where did you get it? What size?
Sick build! Any update on the Front Runner roof rack for the 1500's?
Don’t know sorry.
The 805RADO plate, you're from the 5 cities area? I live over in Oceano :-) Sweet ride!
Thanks and yep! Santa ynez valley.
Still waiting for @frontrunner to make this roof rack

Staying Chevy. Just a slightly older model. 🤜🏽
I have a GMC Sierra version of that truck with 128K on it. I have had to get the transmission rebuilt twice. Have you had any issues like that?
are you still running the rough country 3.5 lift knuckles and dif drop with the icon suspension?
Can't wait

Do you got a locker on the front?
Were you still running the Rough Country spindle?
You have two spare tires?
Who told you the tires are over engineered?
So it can be done.
What offset were those Icon rebounds?

If I can find one I’ll probably be doing a 6.0 with a 4L80e on the new truck.
Those slider/steps? What brand? Where did you source? They look great and I’d like some for my rig.
They are just steps. But I like them a lot. They are from Westin automotive
What kind of roof rack do you have? Do you have solar?
I’m having trouble finding cross bars that fit my Silverado.
It was tough finding one. This was a prototype
Just found your channel, I have a 17 Silverado myself that I am slowly building. You didnt show any interior mods in this video, looks like you have a ram mount cell phone holder, just curious how you have that mounted in your truck. Looking forward to seeing your new build!
Not much on the inside. Ram mount is just the sticky mount. And I have an Amazon 6 gang switch and CB radio. That’s about it.

How has the factory wax coating on the frame held up?
It held up great. But annoying to work on anything town there.

So your saying that I can slap 35s on a 4 inch lift on a 2017 silverado 1500, as long as I do the norcal mod???
Yep!
Hey brother where did you get the side steps? What kind are they?
Westin automotive
Would you ever build and sell the bed racks?
Thought about it. But I don’t have the space.
Are your icon wheels the titanium or satin black color?
Titanium
I've met that "little old lady" everyone talks about and even she blew up her transmission!
What was the gas mileage like with the icon suspension and mud tires? I’m looking at getting same setup you have.
I was at about 15mpg on the freeway.

Nice. It took me about 4 days to build. There is a little video on my instragram story highlights about it.
Did you have to drop the diff or ????
Yep.
I'll hire you to build that rack for my diesel 2020 Silverado 2500!!
I’ve had a few people want me to build them. Would be fun. Maybe one day.
How much you selling your rig for ?

Is it possible to off road on 2nd?
2wd
Yep. Just have to carry more momentum through the tough spots.
Why do you keep the stock spare?
Just in case something goes really south. Haha. But no real need to take it out.
