Anything in the VST world that get's close to this? I could probably emulate with a tape emu vst and vintage sounding delay, but there's nothing quite like this in terms of functionality as far as I know. So if you know anything close... Anyway, some nice textures you created there bruv.
The best tape emulation I've used is U-he Satin. You can't do tape looping / tape speed tricks with it like on the hardware, but I guess you could do that in software. Cubase has an algorithm for repitching based on tape speed.
That speed modulation, instant flashbacks to 70s Sci Fi TV series! Loving that sound. I've always wondered why these go for so much less than the Rolands on Ebay, they seem to be just as good.
Great job Alex. Your videos are consistently interesting and educational. I noticed the auto-generated closed captioning on UA-cam translated some of your speed adjustment experiments as "Applause"; seems appropriate.
Yes, they combine very nicely. I assume they designed it specifically for the MS range. I don't know any other tape delays with speed CV and feedback kill via trigger.
The sound on sound demo, by virtue of the chords you chose, really had a Frippertronics vibe to them. Beautiful! And loved the MS-10 getting its day in the sun. I love mine dearly. Yes, he only has one oscillator, but he can do PWM, unlike his cooler bigger brother. ;)
