Very smart and functional design. I purchased this base layer a week ago and received it today. I will use it with Fujifilm X-T2 camera on one day and multiday hikes.
Great review. I just bought one to try it out. If you are seeking feedback i hope you make a larger base layer so that i can use my canon EOS R5 with 70-200 f2.8 lens. I carry that lens everywhere. Most of your fit review is based on Sony camera. Every photographer knows Sony makes more compact camera. But if you want to appeal to large population make it a bit large. The expandable part is a good idea. Make that part a bit larger so canon user can use it with longer lens. I hike with my gear. the reason I’m looking into this base layer is because I now use my hyper mountain hiking backpack and protective pouches for my camera and lenses while hiking. This reduces my total weight. Hiking backpack is much more comfortable for hiking than camera backpack. There are many like minded photographers out there.
If you were using it inside another bag and didn't need the extra protection, could you stuff the roll top inside itself to make it easier to remove and replace in the base layer?
The fold clips at the end do not work, they are different in both sides, so when I tried closing the fold the holes do not match, I can't close the fold. It SUCKS!!!
