I have the 28L version, and it has survived traveling through rainforests, hiking mountains, beaches and even music festivals. This pack does it all and has saved my ass soo many times! Only wish I have would be to add some d rings inside for some sort of organization.

Hi! I know this is an old video but I have a little tip! When opting for buckling the top straps to eachother instead of top to sides, I actually like to loop the top buckles behind, through the space under those load lifters, and then its out of the way. As opposed to looping forward and buckling to get that ‘handle’. Just another way of doing it.

SUPER review thanks. Having checked out the latest top 10 lists for packable packs, Matador have really stood out to me both with this and their Beast18 (both excellent for different purposes).

I've had this for 2 years and about 7 months of travel, used it in a pinch for extra groceries when my nanobag wasn't enough. I've filled it FULL with random semi-sharp items poking the inside of it that made me uncomfortable riding 20 min back to my airbnb, but it handled it perfectly and looks new.
Hranted I only use it like once a week while traveling.

Awesome review! Crazy how many features they can fit in packable bags now.

The 28L is my favorite for one bag travel. It’s really tough and no digging around for a rain cover leaving a terminal or hotel in the rain. I love it but would like just a little more room. Maybe a Freerain 34L? Since it has no structure or padding keeping packed weight down would be important but that’s in my control.

I was so excited to discover this pack and I would be giving them my money except for ONE major detail on their website and also the reason why i’m suspecting the price is almost slashed in half.
The material used for the pack is known to cause cancer. and i know some might say well many things may cause cancer.. but the warning is on the website product page. until they figure that out, i lm not gonna get it unfortunately

Great video, just picking one up. What are the two packing cubes you used in it? Thanks

Thanks for the review, good content. I got this one by accident instead of the Freerain24, but everything is back ordered and sold out right now, so going stick with it. I had trouble with packing it into the bag it compresses into, so I appreciate the tips about paying attention and putting it in width-wise.

Matador’s website states that the main compartment is completely water proof. Would you say that is accurate? I understand the outside zipper pocket is not completely waterproof, which is why I think Matador was careful with their wording, stating that the Main compartment is.

great review! looking at this to use as a daypack for a trip to borneo with a lot of jungle trekking. would be carrying my dslr with a couple lenses, just wondering if you thought it’d be suitable for this? or if I should have a camera bag within the bag, or maybe there’s a better option. cheers!

A camera bag within the bag probably makes the most sense! You will want that extra protection. Thanks for the comment!
