We had two meals at Le Cinq, one for lunch (when it was still with two Michelin Star) and one for dinner ( 3 star). Both of them were truly sensational experience. Not like many other 3 star restaurants using lots of ‘innovative cooking techniques and novel presentation, Le Cinq really respected the food itself. The service was also impeachable, the staff were very very friendly and energetic. It is my most favorite restaurant in Paris. I really look forward to coming back again. Thank you for shooting this wonderful video.

I went to Le Cinq many many years ago , I remember vividly 3 things. First, I didn't know there was some kind of dress code (had a polo shirt) and the lady at the entrance just came up with a tailored jacket that perfectly fit and put me in it while smiling. 5 seconds total in the assessment, choosing a jacket and dressing me ..lol. Second, the way all the people at the restaurant moved around the tables. it was kind of a dance and i was mesmerized the entire lunch. Third, someone chose a red wine. I'm not a fan of wine, red, white or green (I'm portuguese). If I can choose I'll never have wine with meals, preferably water. Any water. They gave me a glass of red wine, someone made a toast and I just wanted to have a sip so I didn't look weird not drinking ... The moment that wine touched my lips an explosion of feelings came into my head and I said out loud: "i could drink this nectar every day of my life for breakfast". Don't really remember the food anymore, also no photos at the time ... I think the bread was very good ..but i have exceptional bread often so didn't really stand out.

This is long time ago (5 years) review, Jay used iPhone 7 on that time, I think the mobile camera quality not really good in 2017, so we can’t judge , maybe restaurant lighting effect, so the colour look a bit dark, I am sure restaurant improved all the skills now, Le Cinq still award of Michelin 3 stars and many customers. Great video, food looks a lot better since the restaurant was slaughtered by Jay Rayner from his review in 2017. There's definitely some interesting dishes and very well presented. Seems to be one of the better 'value' 3 star restaurants especially in comparison to Guy Savoy and Arpege.
The wine pairing could be improved. 180 euro is pretty poor value for what was poured. None of the pairings were particularly expensive, aged or 'rare' bottles. Though I will say that some of the wines were interesting, though I think they could have done better with the selection, I personally would be disappointed that they poured 2 Laguedoc wines. Just seems a lot of off shoot geeky wines the somm picked
